Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cabin in Pierre Part - Pierre Part Cajun Retreat #1

A Cajun cabin built right off beautiful Pierre Part Bay.

Beautiful custom-built Cajun Cabin, with a fully-equipped kitchen, living room and full bath. Cabin interior is rustic and is constructed of reclaimed virgin cypress and pine.

The cabin has a queen-size bed in the bedroom along with a sofa & love seat in the living room. The bathroom has a shower stall.

The cabin has a large TV in the living room and is equipped with WiFi and DirectTV.

The cabin is built on property right off Pierre Part Bay. There is a large covered dock where you can fish or tie up your boat. There is a boat ramp within walking distance where you can launch your boat to either fish or to just explore the beautiful waterways surrounding Pierre Part, including Lake Verret and Belle River.

You may even catch a glimpse of the stars of Swamp People during your stay! Rainbow Inn, a frequent filming location for the show, is right across the Bay from the cabin and is in walking distance.

The cabin is about a one-hour drive from Louisiana's Capital City of Baton Rouge and about 1.5 hour drive to historic New Orleans. The Houmas House plantation home is 29 miles from the cabin, and Oak Alley plantation home is about 30 miles from the cabin.

Numerous opportunities for adventure may be available, depending on the season. These may include crawfishing, crabbing, frogging, fresh-water fishing, hoop net fishing and tours of the Atchafalaya Basin. Limited alligator hunts may be available during alligator season at an additional expense. Experience a true Cajun lifestyle.

About Eddie Lambert

We live in South Louisiana and absolutely love it! We are married and have three children, ages 25, 23 and 19. In the short time since we built our cabins, we have already met so many interesting people from as far away as Minnesota and Alberta, Canada. We are looking forward to meeting many more and can't wait to help you enjoy and explore our beautiful state.

Why Eddie Lambert chose Louisiana

We love South Louisiana, because our way of life is very unique. Within a very short driving distance, there are so many places to see and adventures to experience. Louisiana is often referred to as 'Sportsman's Paradise.' This is so true!

Little Cajun Cabin--A wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to visit Louisiana and explore the bayou area and this was the best choice! Marilyn and Eddie were in touch with us immediately after I booked the cabin. Eddie helped us find the best and most scenic route to the cabin. Marilyn met us there and she was so sweet and gracious and gave us insight on places to eat and shop. We went to the Pierre Part store and what a treat! They have a little of everything and the people there, and everywhere we went, were the friendliest. We loved the cabin. It was clean and cute and had everything we needed to have a quiet and relaxing time. The dock across the road is a beautiful and quiet spot to sit and drink a cup of coffe while watching the ducks and other wildlife. We gassed up our car at Duffy's and they actually pumped the gas for us! That's something we haven't experienced in a while. We ate dinner at Landry's Seafood and everyone in there, again, were so friendly and talkative. I can't say enough good things about our stay at The Little Cajun Cabin.

I only wish we had been able to stay longer because Eddie said he would take us out in his boat and I think we would have really enjoyed that. I would definitely like to come back and I would not hesitate to recommend this cabin to anyone. If you are looking for a quiet place to go where you can relax and just soak up the culture and encounter wonderful and welcoming people this is the place for you.

Cajun hospitality at its finest!

  • 5 of 5

I found this lovely cabin by searching for a place to rent outside of a big city. We were looking for a place that was slow-paced and in the middle of Cajun country. There could not be a better spot than Little Cajun Cabin. We came to celebrate our 10th anniversary, hit some tourist spots, but mostly to soak in the flavor of the Louisiana bayous.

Marilyn and Lori met us at the cabin and made us feel right at home immediately. They gave us suggestions and recommendations on places to eat, things to see and do. We made ourselves at home and headed to Paizano's in Belle River, on Marilyn's recommendation. If you're not looking for fancy, the food at this little convenient store was perfect after a day of driving. We ate boudin, rice dressing, red beans and rice and a po-boy - all delicious! Avery Island was one of the best tourist spots in Louisiana. It's reasonably priced and the Jungle Garden was just beautiful. A true legacy from the McIlhenney's! Saw 2 alligators right there watching us. Made a side jaunt to Cypremort State Park just to see the ocean, but it was very unimpressive. We did meet the park ranger Keith and he was very interesting to talk to. Also ate at the Grapevine in Donaldsonville (again on Marilyn and Lori's recommendation) and the crawfish cornbread with catfish and crawfish etouffe was incredibly good. Whitney Plantation was well worth the cost, an informative and rather thought-provoking plantation tour - not your usual plantation visit.

The highlight of our trip was having Eddie take us out on the bayou for 2-3 hours and it was so beautiful and relaxing. Eddie is open and warm and a treasure trove of Cajun and Pierre Part history. We ran into a friend of his and his father who were out fishing and pulled over and talked to them. Eddie, tell Eric we're serious about coming up to Illinois and going deer hunting - we have timber and a guest room he's welcome to use.

Everyone we met was so friendly, from Wendy at the Exxon station to Troy Landry's Uncle Winston, to Ms. Maisie next door. What a gem of a little town!

The cabin is immaculate and comfortable, everything we could possibly need or want. We spent many hours on the porch with beverages and conversation. One recommendation would be some ceiling fans on the porch on those muggy evenings. That is truly the only thing I'd change. It was just perfect!! We will be back to spend more time on the bayou in the Cajun Cabin! Thank you so much Lamberts!!

Stunning, cottage like retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Me and my husband wanted and nice vacation, something different. My husband found Eddie's Cajun Retreat

on line ( my husband wanted to check out a real live Alligator).

We rented the cabin for a week ( next time two). The cottage was immaculate. The set up was quaint and was like a home- away-from-home. It was so very relaxing, absolute comfort, leather couches, cottage quilt on a soft queen bed, a lot of space to cook, a little walk in closet, heated bathroom ( I so loved the heat after a shower), outside BBQ, coffee maker so you could grab a cup and go across the street and fish off your own dock, and a big yard and a lot of privacy. Can't ask for anything better.

Mr Eddie and Mrs Marilyn were very accommodating, and then some.

Eddie is very knowledgeable and we could tell that he loves the land (the history as well as today). He is so calm and cool, attentive and proud.

We came down from Canada, with no major itinerary, played things by ear.

Well we had the best time of our lives. In fact, way better than an all inclusive week in Dominican or Cuba etc.

Eddie and Marilyn go/went OVER BOARD and made our stay unbelievable. We did things we never thought would never ever happen. Would recommend the Cajun Retreat in Pierre Part in-a-heart-beat. No hesitation and nothing negative to say.

Peaceful Delight

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was fantastic! It was well stocked with everything we needed. I appreciated the labels on the light and fan switches, etc. so we didn't have to guess. This is truly the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. There were plenty of rockers on the porch to simply enjoy great conversation on the porch after dinner or to just hang out on the wharf by the bay. Adam (the famous driftwood man) is just down the road & his creativity in making works of art out of driftwood is something to see. We'll definitely be back!!!!

Very nice

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in the cabin was absolutely great. The cabin was immaculate and cozy. The price that you pay for rental is very small compared to the amenities provided. It was peaceful and conveniently located to great fishing. Landry's Seafood restaurant is close by and serves delicious seafood. I would definitely recommend this to friends for a good clean place to experience whatever the occasion is. The owners are great and answer any email or text quickly. I am looking forward to next time.

Ahh-mazing!

  • 5 of 5

Earlier this month, my husband and I stayed two nights in the Little Cabin, while friends stayed in the Big Cabin. All of us were amazed at the craftsmanship of the cabins, which were built from repurposed wood. The cabins had all the amenities of home, and were charmingly decorated. Our stay was comfy and relaxing... wish we could have stayed longer!
