I bought this home and 100 feet of prime easily accessible water front and settled in this area because of its uniqueness of Island living in rural Vermont. One you see your first sunset while swinging on the swing bench on the screened in porch you also will be hooked.
I taught school for over thirty years and no matter what the day was like I could come home and relax at this spectacular spot. I also am half owner of the local newspaper, 'The Islander.' My husband and I looked around New England for newspapers to buy and this location was the best.
When the house was purchased, the lake side of the property was covered with trees. I had some of them cut down to maximize the view from every window inside the house. I also wanted to keep the trees to provide shade for the house so it would be cooler in the summer. When you open the windows you can hear lapping of the lake water on the rocks below.
When taking a commercial plane ride, hot air balloon ride or a seaplane ride over this property you will see and feel why Vermont and why I chose this location on the Lake Champlain Islands.

Sue and I spent 2 weeks here and we hated to leave. The house is definitely up-scale, modern, and spotlessly clean. There are neighbors on both sides, but existing greenery makes for total privacy. We met the neighbors---------very nice people, quiet and friendly.
We were only 2 most of the time, but the house would comfortably accommodate a family and kids.
We are both familiar with Grand Isle, and we took advantage of the great restaurants there, plus live music at the winery, the air show at Shore Acres, etc., etc. A variety of stores are conveniently located nearby.
