GREAT WAY to See DC
My sisters flew in from DC and joined my daughters and nieces for a great stay at this wonderful place. I was so tickled to see the young women excited about the place and also provide such a comfortable sleep for my sisters to celebrate my 60th birthday. There were no blankets which was a bit of a surprise but PLENTY of clean white nice thick sheets. Plenty of towels and washcloths and the parking area was nice to be able to pull into at night. The girls walked to dinner the first night while I picked up my sisters at Reagan so it was wonderful to be in a neighborhood that I was not worried about them. They were also able to shop a little near the condo.
We used the refrigerator and microwave which were a blessing. The two couches opened up to full beds and the very large dining room table made a great gathering point.
Be aware there are a lot of stairs so if you have trouble with steps you probably will not be able to maneuver here very well. The balcony view was terrific and there were nice chairs up there.
THANKS, Ann Ihms and family
Ok condo in DC within 20 minutes of everything
The neighborhood is a little run down so it was not as nice as expected based on photos of exterior. It was still close to a metro stop, markets nearby, and plenty of good dining options. The condo had plenty of room for our family of 5 with 4 full beds (2 in each bedroom). It claims to sleep 8, but just keep in mind you’re sharing a full bed. Two bathrooms, kitchen, and washer/dryer. There is also a rooftop area accessible, but there were no chairs to use so it was not practical to enjoy the rooftop other than to go up and take a look. There was parking available, but we did not use it. The experience was good, but the initial impression my family got was bad...they had to be won back over slowly. When we arrived, the cable TV did not work, the internet/WiFi was down, the washer/dryer was not working, and the garbage disposal did not work. We had to leave the condo after a long day of travel so that someone could repair those items. They did get repaired, but the garbage disposal never did, and the kitchen sink always had a bad smell to it. Overall, while this gives you more space than a hotel, it was a little run down, and not in a neighborhood you feel safe in after dark. There was one night where there was a very heated argument right outside our bedroom window in the middle of the night. While we loved our time in DC, the condo was just ok. With a few renovations, new furniture, bigger beds, and rooftop chairs, this place could be 5 stars.
Nice large condo with roof top deck and reserved private parking in back
Great place! 2 bedrooms with four beds. Large living area with 2 sleeper sofas. and large dinning table.
Large roof top deck with nice view. Has table but no chairs on deck. Nice safe neighborhood. 3 block walk to Metra trains. Nice restaurant The Coupe nearby. $20 night for private parking is great since parking is limited in DC.
Some car traffic street noise but no problem as we travel with sound machine. Thermostat was preset and has a lock on it. Was fine for our stay but could be restrictive in changing temperatures. Limited supply's as listed so bring napkins and paper towels if you like. We would stay here again when visiting DC. Towel racks in both baths need to be repaired.
My family and I stayed here for two nights as we toured around Washington DC. The host was fast and efficient with responding and she had an instruction booklet that helped us out a lot. The wifi was very good and all the linens that we needed were provided. The living room was massive and the bathrooms were clean as well. Lots of natural light comes from the various windows. There are two entrances, the main and the back that lead to a small parking garage that you can use if there is space for $20 a night. The space to get in and out is really tight behind the buildings. No large vehicles, as ours was 6ft10in and barely got in and out. All of the codes and keys were there and easy to use and gave us no problems. There is free street parking on the weekends and there was plenty of them. There is only 2hr street parking on the weekends. This house was easy to find on a street corner right in front of a bus stop and a 18min drive to the National Mall. The 360 roof deck is accessed by a spiral staircase, but the reason why I only gave 4 stars was that all of the lounge chairs at the top of the deck were ripped/broken and they were pushed in the corner, unusable and it took away from the sites of all of the other apartment buildings and rooftops. I do recommend staying here!
This was a wonderful apartment, exactly as described. Close to metro, restaurants, and supermarket! The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Easily accommodated our families, which included small children. Manager was very attentive to make sure our stay was comfortable. We would love to come back!
Great location, Georgia Ave - Petworth Metro Station, awesome roof top deck
Spring break for our granddaughter, Grandmother, PopPop, and Mom. The place was very comfortable and access to the subway was perfect. Subway to the Verizon Center, Dupont Circle, and the National Mall was a breeze. Large space, very clean. We loved the roof top deck with a clear view of the Washington monument. Great place for evening cocktails. (I recommend placing one of the deck chairs under the spiral staircase to prevent anyone from knocking their heads - ouch!).
This place was a great value for the four of us and it could sleep many more (though the fold- out sofas are best for youngsters).
Loved the funky little locally owned and operated coffee shop, Heat Da Spot Café, for breakfast a short walk from the condo. Also Slim's diner.
This home is located within walking distance of two different GREEN Line Metro stops in Columbia Heights There are also several bus lines that run through the area as well.
This neighborhood is a fairly densely populated area of Washington D.C. with loads of foot traffic to include dog walking, bicycling, jogging and families walking. Columbia Heights is also a very developed area of Washington D.C. There is plenty of retail shopping stores in the area in addition to the iconic Tivoli Theater. There is the famous 'Capitol Share' Bike Station, located within close proximity, in front of the Giant Grocery Stores. The 'Capitol Share' provides bikes for rent. There are loads of sidewalk cafes, bars and restaurants not only in Columbia Heights but also in nearby Adams Morgan and U Street Corridor which makes this neighborhood popular. Columbia Heights is arguably Washington's most economically diverse neighborhood where real estate is varied, composed of mostly high-priced condominiums and very little lower income housing.
