Perfect quiet & secluded. Great security! All the comforts from home.
Very shallow beach but so fun to walk to the reef wall and discover nature on the way. Liked it so much we are re-booking!!
Have you every dreamed of being on a beautiful deserted island on the beach sitting in your lounge chair drinking a margaritas then this is that place! It was everything I thought it would be beautiful sun and sunset. Where you take long walks ,sit and listen to the waves. When the tide was low you could sit in the water and do my favorite thing finding sea shells. I lived outside with beach, patio furniture and outdoor kitchen just went in the house to sleep basically. Found the house to be efficient and comfortable. With the house being all screened in had no problem with mosquitoes ,roaches or insects of any kind.I hardly cooked went out to the restaurants and enjoyed every minute of the authentic Puerto Rican food. I can't wait to go back to see Puerto Rico and everything it offers and the beach house with those beautiful sunsets that just took my breath away. This place was everything the website said it was and the pictures did not lie!
It was a wonderful few days. The beach house was exactly as described on the website, so no one should be surprised by anything upon their arrival. Walking into the place felt like home, very clean and the accommodations were great. Every morning we packed the cooler with drinks and snacks and just sat in the ocean relaxing enjoying the beautiful weather. We did go to some great restaurants in the area and did a bit of sightseeing. Mainly we stayed on the property. It felt like paradise. Good friends, good food, and nothing but the sound of the waves. What more could you ask for. We plan on making this an annual getaway.
Mom, Dad, and 3 adult (25+) kids had a great vacation. Property manager Jorge was very friendly and helpful. The house was spacious with everything needed. Agree with other reviews that house and contents are old and well worn. Not really an issue since spent all time enjoying outside except sleeping. Third bathroom is tiny and toilet so close to wall that a big person cannot sit on it. We did have a handful of big cockroaches in the 3rd bedroom and bathroom. I have to say on this note that it is overpriced.
Views of the ocean are beautiful. Distracting from this is the chain link fence that you have to look through when sitting on the patio. Seems like all houses here have one so can't avoid in this area. The beach is course sand with lots of old coral and it is also littered with an abundance of seaweed. We actually borrowed a rake from Jorge to clean a small area for our own enjoyment. I stopped raking when I started to sweat and immediately ran to rehydrate (another Heineken :)).
It would have been nice to have use of the 2 kayaks that are sitting in the locked garage. Also, there is no WiFi. Again, for the rental price these should be provided.
The house and area are very quiet and relaxing. Good for those of us who like to take it easy. We did hike the rain forest to the La Mina waterfall which was beautiful. The kids explored more of the island finding natural swimming holes, waterfalls, and caves. We also did old San Juan - very fun. A car is necessary to get about.
We had a great trip and thank the owner and Jorge for everything.
Our group consisted of 5 adults and my 9 month old son. We had a very, very relaxing trip. Beside an excursion across the street to the rain forest, we only ventured out to hit the grocery stores or road side food stands. For the price, we felt it is a good deal.
*Privacy - we saw no more than a handful of people each day on the beach
*Outside lounging area - very nice covered area. We spent most of our time in this area hanging out. It was really nice for my son since he could hang out without us needing to lather him up in sun screen. There is also an area to soak up the sun if you desire. There are nice canopies that you can control the sun in the morning since it can be very bright. We closed at night to help keep out some of light in master bedroom.
*View of the moon: we were lucky enough to have a full moon during our visit which was beautiful over the water.
*Closeness to water - I walked off 75 steps from the water at low tide to the porch.
*Bedroom AC - more than enough to keep you cool at night; we tried to keep the windows open in the main area of the house to allow the breeze
*Kitchen - We had everything we needed to cook, which we did for almost all our meals. No oven but we made do.
*Beach - short walk or quick drive to a very nice sandy beach
*Convenience to shops - within a 10-15" (only 5-7 miles) drive to two different grocery stores
*Bedding / linens were dated / well worn.
*Beach: Very rough sand directly outside gate. We enjoyed it and pulled chairs out and hung out but the sand is no more than 10 feet at low tide. Also should have some shoes to wade in the water in front of the house
* Beach chairs: There were on two chairs, one which was busted and unusable. Had plastic chairs which we used, but an upgrade is needed
* Beach toys: Don't expect much, so other places we looked at had kayaks, rafts, etc.
* Windows: Some do not open at all and some are difficult to open which really isn't the problem but trying to close when rain comes out of nowhere is a pain.
* Living room furniture - well worn and the owners probably do not want to replace as a result of rain coming thru the windows while you are trying to close.
* 3rd bath is tiny, luckily we had a single which maid it easier to accommodate.
On another note, there are stray dogs around but to be honest they paid us no attention.
All in all, we enjoyed our trip. Location is great and it was very peaceful.
My husband and I and our adult children all (6 total) all stayed at this very quaint home over the Christmas 2015 holiday. After looking at the home on VRBO and then corresponding with the owner, we believed we had found a hit! We weren't disappointed. The caretaker, Jorge, was there to meet us and show us around the home, gave us information on the area including places to shop and eat. He made himself available (lives a walk away from this home) around the clock and was very hospitable and fun to talk with.
The home is a fenced property with a back gate that leads you right into the ocean -we are talking literally steps away. This area of the beach is very quiet and peaceful. The area was great for snorkeling although you have to walk out a ways to get into deeper waters. A short walk down the beach leads to bigger waves and deeper waters to enjoy also.
The home was very clean, had everything we needed, including beach towels. Jorge agreed to get groceries for us prior to our arrival as we were coming in on Christmas Eve and stores were closed. He also scheduled us all beach massages with a great masseuse and he and his lovely wife (both chefs) catered a meal for us in their lovely home Puerto Rican Style. If you are looking for a nice, affordable, beachfront home with gracious hosts, this is the place to go. We loved it and hope to return!!!
This beach house was the gathering point for our family reunion. It was spacious, comfortable, great backyard for lounging, walking along the beach, eating in the outdoor kitchen. Very well located near the places we enjoyed... ATV riding at Carabali Park, El Yunque Rainforest, authentic restaurants. We actually looked forward to heading back to the beach house, to unwind and relax. The owners and property manager are very attentive to details. There's so much to do in PR that you you need two weeks to fully appreciate it.
