Charming waterman’s cottage!

  • 5 of 5

The Public Landing Cottage is truly a hidden gem! My family of 4 and 2 dogs arrived for our week long vacation and immediately fell in love with the charm of the cottage and the amazing water views from almost everywhere in the house. To quote our 5-year-old daughter “now this is a place that I can vacation”. Morning coffee on the front porch watching the sun gleam off the bay, fishing off the back dock, roasted hotdogs and s’mores around the fire pit, a short walk to the beach, fresh caught crabs purchased right out your backdoor……all enjoyed with the company of our dogs. What more do you need?

The listing is exactly as advertised and the property clean and well maintained. We had just one request of the owner and his very lovely mother, Barbara, came by the very next morning and shared some great history about the property. We did make it into the town of Snow Hill and enjoyed a great dinner at the Harvest Moon Tavern where the staff was very friendly and knew everyone by name by the time we finished dinner. We also did take-out from China Moon and the food was as good as any Chinese take-out in our own neck of the woods.

Without hesitation, we will recommend this property to friends and family. So glad we have a second week to look forward to in August! Counting down the days!

It Was INCREDIBLE!!!

  • 5 of 5

This little cottage with a very interesting history is in the most delightful spot. Others have said that the pictures do not do it justice and they are right! The small beach is close ~ you can walk to it or load up the vehicle with beach chairs, toys, and a full cooler to spend the day. You can see Assateague Island from our little beach. We met so many nice people. Being a dog-friendly rental, we were able to bring our dog Zadok. He was absolutely thrilled to meet so many other dogs and people as well. There were wonderful places to walk Zadok ( & us ).

We took a day & drove to Chincoteague by way of back roads. We had a new GPS and wanted to play. Unfortunately, for us the trip to Chincoteague was much better than being on the actual island. We were amazed and dismayed by the overwhelming commercialization of what we expected to be a quaint, small town. All is well though ~ we were considering moving there and now we know!

We spent a day at our favorite beach ~ Assateague Island!

We had a few rainy, dreary days so we did what we so seldom do. We watched television! Because we are "old school", this was the first time we had watched anything on an HDTV big ol' flat screen. LOL It was so much fun and we really enjoyed our time catching up on movies.

Overall, the Public Landing Cottage fit us to a "T". Mark was kind to bring us firewood and my husband got to meet Tim, who was just delightful. We also had the privilege if meeting Barbara, Mark's mother. She told us about some of the interesting history of the cottage and of the neighborhood. We did ask her if we could just move in, but she did remind us that people were scheduled to come at 4:00 pm for the next week.

I could go on and on about this wonderful cottage, but better than that, you need to go and find out for yourselves. You won't be disappointed! :^)

A Gem Of A Find For Pet Lovers!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our 2 large dogs had a wonderful week's stay in this adorable fisherman's cottage. It was absolutely dog friendly and they had the best time jumping off the dock while we were crabbing or fishing. The location is perfect! We rented a boat on the Pocomoke River, hiked trails in Pocomoke State Park, explored the museum at Furnace Town (also dog friendly!) and had a wonderful deserted beach walk on Assateague (pet friendly too) and a rainy day at Ocean Downs casino. The locals are friendly and had great restaurant suggestions in both Berlin and West Ocean City only 30 mins away and we enjoyed beers and food at The Harvest Moon in Snow Hill. The cottage is as advertised...clean and comfortable with amazing 270 degree water views! Only 3 TV channels but 3 more than we needed! Good selection of DVDs and free wireless internet was appreciated.

Wonderful Place to Unwind

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the cottage and had a spectacular week. We take our 2 Golden Retrievers with us on all of our trips and this was easily the best vacation we've had. The property description is completely accurate. It was very clean and comfortable. The dogs (and we) loved the beach down the road just a minute away. We steamed crabs bought from Tim the fisherman and they were delicious. The location is quiet, private, and so relaxing. It really was a wonderful place to unwind for a week by the beach.

Waterfront Cottage Retreat As Advertised!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at this cozy waterfront cottage in Snow Hill, MD.

The cottage was clean and well maintained and ready for us. The owners were friendly and easy to contact if needed.

We loved the Waterfront view, small beach, and convenience to Asseategue Island and Ocean City and PET FRIENDLY!!!

We enjoy the craft brew scene and enjoyed "Burley Oak Brewery's" Tap Room in Berlin, MD, just a short drive.

We totally recommend this property!
