Rustic log sided cabin at the foot of the Mogollon Rim on bank of E Verde close to the river's beginning springs. Cabin sits on 3/4 acre lot with about 250 feet of river frontage. This 3 bedroom cabin fits 6 comfortably. Picture windows in family, dining room, kitchen, and sun room all face the river, which flows all year. Additional water releases into the river during the summer months increases the river water flow, which lowers river air temperatures several
degrees. Photos shown are the natural river flow. Front patio seating with chiminea. Back of cabin has a fire pit and propane barbeque with stone seating facing river's edge. Back of cabin lot is fenced, with gate leading to several hiking trails. Nearby dirt trails allow for quads, off roading, and hiking. Satellite TV with DVD player, Netflix, Internet, and Magic Jack internet phone, with flat screen TV's. Surrounded by National Forest. There are no trout additions by the hatchery this far up the river, so please the fishing policy is only catch and release. About a two mile hike to the E Verde River's originating springs. No glass containers are allowed near the river's edge. Always please watch your children near water.
Located at 6000 foot elevation on the river's edge in a hollow, this has been a great get away from the valley summer heat, a cool 25-30 degrees air difference than the valley. One can play in the cold river's water to cool down.
River visible by more than half of the cabin's windows.
Save yourself the time, expense and effort of a trip to the northeast and leaf peep in Arizona! This property is beautifully located on the East Verde River. The views from the front patio, the dining room, the kitchen and the back porch are breathtaking. Yellows and reds accented against green pines and blue skies to the tune of burbling water, make for a spectacular immersive experience. Hiking in Washington Park and on the Highline trail were highlights. The whole family competed for naps on the hammock. Everything in this cabin was clearly marked, mechanically sound and the WiFi worked. There is no cell service, so be prepared to use iMessage or WhatsApp to communicate. This was my wife's 55th birthday and she felt thoroughly spoiled. It was one for the books! I highly recommend this property.
This is a one beautiful and perfect location to wind down. The cascade and the river are picture perfect and soothing to the ears. The Fall colors added to the beauty. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was that the cabin was little cold for our comfort in the night. The neighbors were also very friendly which made it a nice experience. Would definitely recommend this for a getaway.
We had an amazing experience at the cabin! A total sensoral package with the smell of the trees, the sound of the water running, the stunning beauty, the comfort of the cabin and the taste of toasted marshmallows!! It doesn't get any better than that. As previous posts stated the neighbors are very friendly. My kids loved meeting their sweet dog. The playhouse is a perfect spot for kids to explore and dream up adventures. The kitchen is fantastic with updated appliances and all the necessities. Just bring your groceries and your good! Everything was clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for a large group-lots of tvs with dvd players in different rooms and lots of dining areas in and out. We loved having the incredible fire pit. So much to do in the area that we said we will have to come back. Chuck was a great host and kept us updated through email. Thank you for the wonderful weekend!!
Our whole family enjoyed our stay at this property so much we decided that we would love to return for a longer stay very soon. The hiking, the calm gatherings by the campfire, and the mesmerizing waterfall were all that we hoped for. Thank you very much to the wonderful owner of this perfect mountain getaway!!
In real estate there is a term called "location, location, location". This cabin's location knocks it out of the park. If you like access to the remote outdoors, with the sound of creek running outside, you will not be disappointed. Plus you get a full blown kitchen, Direct TV with plenty of screens, WiFi for texting, email and internet surfing from your laptop... you are never too far from what's going on in the distant world back home if you like to stay connected.
The location of the cabin, beside the river and falls, is lovely and peaceful. The cabin was clean and things well labeled. We especially liked the screened patio where we could eat while enjoying the sound of the water. Our only challenge was the narrow bridge and driveway. We were pulling a 16' trailer with our Yamaha Rhino on it, and it was difficult to maneuver it on the property.
Take paved Houston Mesa Rd, which is just north of Payson on 87, east (right) about 10 miles through Whispering Pines to dirt Control Rd 64. Left onto 64 at stop sign, go 3/4 mile to 32. Right onto 32 towards Washington Park. Continuing for 3 miles will bring you into the Rim Trail community. Final directions will follow once reservations are confirmed.
