Heron's Rest year round cottage located on just over an acre of land beside one of the largest set of rapids of the Petite River. This quiet and private rental is just off the main road giving quick access to the wide range of local interest and activities. Its the perfect location for a romantic get away for two or a personal retreat. The house is fully equipped with a fridge, stove, dishwasher and laundry facilities. It will sleep 2 in the main bedroom queen sized bed. The large deck which overlooks the river is accessed off the kitchen and includes a BBQ and outdoor dining facilities. About Sherry Hudson

Paul and I love to explore Nova Scotia and are often seen clambering over waterfalls in search of a new spot to set up our tripods. In the summer months we love to sail, exploring the coast and joining in on the local races. Winter takes us outdoors to freeze our fingers off to catch the warm light of the perfect sunrise or out across the trails on x-country skiis.

Why Sherry Hudson chose Crousetown

This property is perfect for couples, it is in a quiet location with lots of privacy but nearby many attractions. In the winter its a great place to turn of the electronics and sit by the fire and relax. In the summer you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the river or a fire under the evening stars. There are many places close by to discover if you like to explore.

What makes this cottage unique

The most unique aspect of the cottage is its location above a set a rapids which can be heard in the cottage year round. This lovely sound of water provides the perfect acoustic backdrop to the cottage. Guests can enjoy their morning cup of coffee on the deck overlooking the river and watch the sun come up while they plan their day of adventures.

Perfect place to relax and unwind.

Heron's Rest offered us the perfect getaway in the woods. The property is very private, set back from the road and overlooking the river's rapids. The beautifully landscaped backyard leads down to a cozy fire pit by the water. Sherry has very thoughtfully left lots of books, games, and local travel suggestions in the cottage. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well decorated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the gorgeous trails and coastline of the surrounding area.

Quaint, well-kept cottage in a beautiful landscape. Perfect place to “unplug” and relax.

Spent a week at the Herons Rest on our honeymoon and it was perfect. The sound of the river in the background, and the crackle of the wood burning stove are hard to beat. The countryside was beautiful, and we weren’t too far from all of the south shores best attractions. Will definitely be returning in the future to experience the summer activities!

A lovely place to rejuvenate!

  • 5 of 5

Heron's Rest is a pretty, clean and well loved cottage on a bubbling river. We enjoy the sound of the water rushing by, the well tended garden and the quaint cottage. It was cosy and relaxing. The surrounding area is beautiful, with amazing beaches and water views. This was our second visit and was as enjoyable as the first.

Absolutely the best piece of paradise anywhere

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was very clean and very inviting. It had all the amenities that anyone would need. The gardens are stunning and well maintained. The rapids on the river made this stay the most relaxing anyone could ask for. The owner was only an email away if required. This is a place that definitely deserves a second visit.
