Overview

About the property

This Post WWII stone house was hand-hewn by its original owner who spent 10 years digging through the rocks on the property's quarry. Updated at the beginning of 2014, this working farm is within a half-day's journey to numerous Upper Cumberland attractions, trails, and waterfalls. If guests prefer access to the urban, a Nashville, Knoxville or Chattanooga trip is with an hour-half journey. Numerous golf courses are a stone's throw as well. Guests are welcome to walk the trails on the property or cycle down Brotherton Mountain.

Retreat, away from it all!

  • 5 of 5

I came to Cookeville from Florida to find a place to live and to get to know the town and the area as I will be relocating with my job. When I first got there I was amazed, as beautiful as the pictures are on the site it doesn't do it justice. It is very peaceful and relaxing, away from it all. I had my 2 little Pomeranian dogs with me and we loved seeing all the cows and my favorite was the little blonde horse and a donkey that were always together and playing. :-) At night it is very dark and great for gazing at the stars and so many fire flies/lightening bugs it looked like a light show. The ground looked like it had twinkling christmas lights. The people in town are very friendly and helpful.

I have already recommended this farm house to family and friends. What a great place to stay. The owners are very nice and make you feel welcome into their amazing retreat getaway Farmhouse, thank you very much :-)

The location was relaxing in evening after a long travel day w/dogs

  • 3 of 5

We arrived to clean, well appointed character filled, historic home. We were Glad to have place unwind on the porch swing and watch sunset for an overnight stay after long day of traveling.Bed was very comfortable. The bathroom clean neat and user friendly.

The only concern was the amount of morning traffic along the driveway ( that accesses the farm?) Otherwise,I would recommend this pet friendly guests house to friends and family. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Was the perfect getaway weekend.

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely amazing time. It is a working farm as there were vehicles, trucks, tractors driving by pretty consistently during the day. That being said it as very nice to be surrounded by animals and in such a peaceful setting. The cabin itself is beautifully done, every little detail has been thought out. We are already planning to see when we can return for another long weekend to recharge. Absolutely amazing.

We loved our stay. The house was so perfect. The farm was beautiful, and we loved the animals. We definitely want to return the next time we are in Tennessee.

Simply Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay here and wish we had more time! Every detail about the farmhouse was perfect. We couldn't get over watching the sweet pony and donkey that were right outside the windows.

Location was great as well! Just a short drive into town.
