Accessed only by boat, our three-story Belize townhome is surrounded by water on all sides. Here, the clear, Caribbean Sea meets a blue-green lagoon, where dolphins and manatees make frequent appearances and a pontoon boat waits to take you into Placencia Village.
After a quick boat ride across the 80 foot lagoon, you’re just a 5-minute walk from some mouthwatering seafood restaurants, local live music and “Grand Slam” fishing excursions. In town, we also recommend exploring Placencia’s calm and enchanting waterways. Additionally, we provide kayaks and bicycles to our guests (accommodates four).
WHY OUR PLACENCIA TOWNHOME?
Perched on top of this three-story Belize townhome, under the cover of a palapa—an authentic thatched hut—you can watch the sun rise over the water. And set over the water, too. Our unique island geography makes it possible to see both!
Here at our townhome, we have another big plus, too: our wonderful, welcoming caretaker, Edwin. Many of our neighbors here in Placencia are jealous that we get to have Edwin all to ourselves—you truly won’t meet a kinder man in all of Belize.
With his caretaker’s cottage adjacent to the townhome complex, Edwin is available in case of emergencies or when you need advice on adventures or places to eat. He speaks perfect English and is happy to help.
At the ultra-safe townhome complex, there are just four neighboring units. We aren’t a sprawling, packed resort. This means our big, sparkling, private swimming pool is never, ever crowded. And we always keep it at a flawless 72 degrees. This matches Belize’s own perfect temperatures, which hover around 75-80 degrees year-round.
Our complex also has outdoor pool showers for rinsing away the chlorine and a grilling hut surrounded by fragrant tropical plants. There’s no better way to spend an evening than flipping some burgers in the sea air at sunset.
Inside the townhome, everything is cool, clean and modern.
The rooms are large and flooded with natural light.
In the kitchen, we’ve provided all the necessary cooking utensils, plus stainless steel appliances. There’s also a laundry room with a washer and dryer in the unit, so you can pack light and throw a load of laundry in at the end of the day at the beach.
The modern bathrooms include marble sinks and huge walk-in showers.
In addition to the rooftop palapa, with is shared with the neighboring townhome, you also have two separate verandas that are all yours—one accessed through the living room, and the other through one of the bedrooms.
WHAT TO DO IN PLACENCIA
The options are many.
Among our world-class offerings are unmatched sport fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling along the barrier reef. You can also charter a boat on the Monkey River, where howler monkeys play and crocodiles slink around and sun themselves on rock.
A little further afield, about an hour away, you will find the breathtaking Mayan ruins. Just a bit up the road from there, you can try your hand at ziplining, soaring above the forest floor and cascading waterfalls of Belize.
Or, you can just spend the day lounging around. There are many places to do just that—from the townhome’s pool to the sugary sand beach just a 5-minute walk away.

I’m originally from Louisiana, but consider myself an Oregonian after 25 years here. I like the proximity of Belize to the US. It’s a quick escape from home into the quiet warmth of Belize. When I walked into Placencia Village I immediately fell in love with the remoteness, yet closeness to everything I would need while relaxing. I like to fish, snorkel and scuba dive. The warm, clear water in Belize makes all of these activities awesome. In fact, when I don’t want to get in a boat to fish, I can fish right off my boat dock outside my townhome. Even better, after I catch fresh fish off the dock, Edwin (the on-site caretaker) and I throw it on the grill. I bring the fish and he brings the mashed potatoes. Good thing we both enjoy BBQing and the outdoors.
I have a background as an owner-operator of hotels and restaurants. I’m a believer in superb customer service and a good product for a fair price. I have an excellent reputation where I live as both a hotel owner and restaurateur. I like to believe I serve the best Thai food locally. While in Belize, I get my fix for Thai food at Thai Friday in Placencia. Please say hello to SiriPohn for me – tell her Max sent you.

Living in often rainy Oregon, I knew I wanted to purchase outside the US and near or on a beach. I looked at Thailand, Panama and Nicaragua initially. I happened upon Belize almost by accident, but perhaps it was really coincidence and meant to be. I immediately fell in love with the people and the country. Beyond falling in love with Belize, I liked that the national language is English which makes it easy to communicate and get around. The currency is also easy to convert. The exchange rate is a simple conversion of two-to-one (2:1) with the majority of businesses willing to take either US dollars or Belizian dollars.
Placencia Pointe provides the type of seclusion that is lacking in our hectic western lives. It’s close enough to town for a refreshing, easy walk, yet secluded on a secure lagoon right on the sea. Additionally, I love that I can walk out the door and leave it wide open or unlocked without a worry. Yes, it’s that safe and private.
And Edwin is the best!
I love that each unit is multi-level (three-story), without anyone above or below. The only thing above each unit is a covered rooftop palapa with an authentic thatched hut. The panoramic view from inside or the rooftop is breathtaking! It is serenely quiet by day, by night, at sunset or sunrise. I love the views from each veranda. Gorgeous and instantly relaxing!
The property was great. We were at the end of a lagoon on the opposite side of the road. There was a nice little boat that we could use to shimmy the four of us across the water. The boys, 8 and 11, thought it was an adventure every time. If we had something that was too heavy then Edwin would ferry us across.
The house was neat and clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could possibly want for our stay. We couldn't figure out how to use the oven and let Edwin know and he come over right away to show us. It was gas and needed to have the pilot light lit.
Before our stay we received ample information about the property and surrounding attractions from Max. We also had some questions and whenever I sent Max an e-mail he was extremely prompt in his reply.
Edwin is rad. Very nice and is extremely helpful. We were hanging out with him and his family one night and they are all quite lovely. You are in good hands with that one.
We were very happy with our stay and if we are ever in this part of the country again we will look into staying here again. Thank you Max and Edwin for making this a very fun and relaxing vacation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Max's condo. Of course, Edwin and Emma were the heart and soul of the stay! They were so kind and accommodating, especially when our a/c went out. Edwin was stellar in finding a contractor to get it repaired. The village is lovely and laid back; we rode bikes to shop, eat, explore, and hang out at the beach. The people are the friendliest you will ever meet! There's nothing like walking up to a server or owner at a restaurant, bar, or even someone on the street and having them introduce themselves and just chat. So refreshing! We did the recommended tours, Monkey River, Cave tubing, Ziplining, and Mayan ruins. All fabulous, especially the first two. The only down side is the barbecue is not operable, but Edwin was kind enough to provide a charcoal one which we used several times. We cannot wait until our return.
Max has a wonderful townhouse! Everything is exactly how it looks in the pictures. This townhouse is located in a great spot. It's not too long of a walk or bike ride into town. It's very quiet and peaceful. Max gives you a lot of great information about restaurants and things to do. There is a helpful book in the townhouse as well with lots of info. Edwin and his family were always willing to help us out with anything we needed. Edwin helped us with setting up a Mayan Ruin tour.
Placencia is a great little village. The food is amazing and the people are very friendly. You really feel like you are getting away from the hustle and bustle. We loved the fry jacks at Wendy's. Vino y Rumfish was really good too. The plantain chips are yummy. We even bought some plantains from one of the stands and made some of our own plantain chips. We loved Barefoot Bar! They have great service, yummy food and the view is amazing. Next door is Tipsy Tuna, we had a terrible experience here. Go next door to Barefoot instead. Our favorite meal was at Maya Beach Hotel Bistro. You have to either drive or take a taxi there but it is well worth it. Again, service was great, view was spectacular and the food was to die for!
My Husband and I came here for our honeymoon. It was the absolute perfect spot for our honeymoon. The pool is very relaxing. The views from the balcony and rooftop palapa are amazing. The townhouse is well equipped and it is a very peaceful area. We wish we could have stayed longer. We would definitely recommend this to our friends and family. And Max, we will definitely be back! Max's town home is amazing. Thanks so much for letting us stay. The location is perfect. It's quiet and peaceful on sunset pointe. The town home is right on the water, and has beautiful views. We caught snapper off the dock every night. You can easily ride the bikes in to town. We really really loved the town of Placencia. The food and people were awesome. There are fun bars if you want to go out at night. Overall, we could not have had a more perfect trip. Thanks again.

Max has a terrific place, perfect location, terrific layout and all the amenities a US traveler could want, not to mention Edwin! What a guy, always so happy and upbeat and charming family! We stayed for 7 days with our friends the Wallace's and loved every minute of it! Easy distance to town, great swimming, fun use of the bikes and kayaks a long with magnificent views from the roof top palapa. Just a little piece of paradise in Belize. Lots of restaurants to try and beautiful beaches are just a short bike ride or quick cab away. Max is super easy to deal with and the place is decked out completely, modern, clean, charming and a jewel of a location. We had a small issue with water leaking in one for the bathrooms from under the sink, Edwin called a plumber and he came out and dealt with it fast (Belize time :-) ). It worked out well.
