What makes this house unique

The home is a perfect twist of historic structure with modern fixings. It's carefully decorated with unique pieces that connect to the Louisiana Cajun culture. It was used for the filming of the GMC Sierra commercial in 2016!

Also check out our other VRBO vacation stay - Paul's Studio located in downtown Scott at The Old Bank of Scott where I currently reside after an extensive remodel.

One of the best.

This is one of the best vacation homes we have rented. The house is very well appointed and maintained and Jared is a great guy. We stayed for only two nights but could have spent a week there and used it as a base to explore from.

Great place to have a relaxing vacation.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is in a lovely and quiet neighborhood with two porches to enjoy. There's a great kitchen stocked with everything you need to make a meal . The king bed was very comfortable, the towels in the bath thick and the shower has three heads! The furnishings through out the house are very inviting. I would definitely come back to this property.

Wedding Weekend

  • 5 of 5

I booked four nights at "The Castle" for my fiancee (now wife!) and I for four nights for the days leading up to and the weekend of our wedding in March 2017. Although we live nearby (about 40 miles away), we wanted a nice place to stay for all of the events so we wouldn't have to drive back and forth each night. I could have easily booked a hotel room but I wanted something nicer, and I'm really glad I found The Castle on VRBO.com.

The home exceeded our expectations and was very clean, well-decorated and stocked and in a location very convenient to our wedding venue (Acadian Village) and rehearsal dinner (Ruffino's on the River).

The bridal party quickly made a change of plans and decided that this would be the place where they would do their hair/makeup and get dressed prior to the wedding when they saw the place first-hand.

All of the rooms are well furnished and decorated, there's plenty of parking for three or four vehicles, and the back porch is a very welcoming place to hang out and relax. We had no issues at all during our stay and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice quiet getaway. We will definitely be booking again in the future for our weekend getaways!

Stunning property

  • 5 of 5

The Castle exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The pictures do not do justice to the beauty of this home & its surroundings. We rented the property to host an engagement party for our son & future daughter in law. The porch & patio are just beautiful & provided the perfect backdrop for our event. The interior is decorated impeccably & beautifully represents the history & character of the home. We have stayed in countless homes thru VRBO/HomeAway & this property is by far our favorite. We are already planning a return trip for January.

If you are looking for a place in the Lafayette/Scott area for any reason, look no further. "Book-it, Danno!" The girls and I fell in love with The Castle before we even opened the front door, and from then on we were crazy in love!! Let me throw a few adjectives out there: Clean, neat, well-appointed, well-maintained, charming, spacious, comfortable, warm, inviting, lovely, delightful, fun... I could go on and on and on. That stove... and that SHOWER!?! Robert and his family (and friends) were just as friendly and helpful as could be, promptly responding to my request on how to light the fire pit (by coming over to personally show us)! We may very well have found a permanent spot for our annual girls' weekend if for no other reason than to stay at The Castle. Since this was a girls' weekend where we planned ahead to hole-up and cook all weekend, we only ate out once: Brunch at French Press in downtown Lafayette on Sunday. Very nice and highly recommended.

As we said in the book, "Big love from Texas!" Thanks again, guys!!!
