Overview

About the property

Unique cozy and quirky town house with two balconies and fabulous views.

Unique cozy and quirky three storey town house in the center of Falmouth enjoying some of the finest views over Falmouth town and harbor to Flushing, Roseland peninsula and beyond. All amenities are within short walking distance.

Ground floor - Comprises of main kitchen with breakfast bar and living room. Sliding folding doors open out onto balcony. Stairs lead up to top floor.

Top floor - Bedroom, bathroom, balcony and if you can bear to tear yourself away from the view the landing area is used as den/dining area.

Lower ground floor - Kitchenette, shower room and bedroom leading out to terrace.

You do not require a car but if you have one there is on street parking on the road outside and nearby streets as well as a public car park a short walk.

I am afraid I have not had notification from the council that they have been able to allocate me a reserved parking space. They tell me they are running a month behind with issuing new permits so I have not lost hope totally.

If I do not get allocated parking there are other options.

There is on street parking directly outside the property and surrounding streets on a first come basis. Once parked you can leave car there as long as you like. They can get full especially after work so if you really have no joy there is parking on Church Street about 3 min walk up the hill. See link below.

I have personally never had to use this option as have found parking outside or on neighbouring streets even if it involved a bit of driving around.

I also have a Cornish Gems property which if not booked for the dates you require then you could use their parking. Obviously if that property has a booking for the same dates or a late booking comes in then this option won't be available.

About Helena Beard

Hi i live with my husband Nick in Newbury. We have two grown up children, the oldest has finished university and living and working in London. The youngest is at University in Falmouth.

We love to travel and experience different countries and cultures and hardly ever choses to stay in hotels unless traveling with business but prefer self catering as we feel we get a better feeling for the places we visit.

When I am not working, apart from travelling I love property refurbishing, interior design, furniture upholstery and gardening and yoga.

Why Helena Beard chose Truro & Falmouth area

Our Holiday Home is in Falmouth Town on the south coast of Cornwall, with amazing views. Our son is at Falmouth University and because of this we got to know Falmouth and love it. When we want a short break away from our busy lives we love to spend time there. Falmouth is a wonderful place to visit for couples, single people and families alike. Young and old there is something for everyone.

What makes this house unique

As soon as we walked through the door we fell in love with the view which can be enjoyed from all principal rooms on every level. Everything in this historic vibrant town is a few moments walk away. There is an excellent range of cosmopolitan restaurants, quayside bars, pubs. galleries and shops, Other leisure amenities include the National Maritime museum, several parks, gardens and safe bathing beaches.

There are fantastic walks including the South West Coast Path, which runs right through Falmouth, around Pendennis Point to the neighbouring beaches of Swanpool, Maenporth and beyond.

There are many regular ferry crossings available to take you to gardens like Trebah, Glendurgan and Trelissick and idyllic waterside villages such as Flushing, St Mawes, and Helford.

These sheltered waters are ideal for the water sports enthusiasts there are sailing, rowing and diving clubs catering to all abilities. Fishing can be done from the beach, pier, off the rocks or you can book a place on a fishing boat.

When you are finished exploring you can simply chill out on the terrace looking out at the ever changing vista below.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Gabi and fiend were great guests. There were a couple of little things that went wrong which I rectified as soon as possible. They took it in good humour and were very understanding. I would not hesitate to recommend her as a guest.

The most wonderful house we have ever stayed in our holidays.

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful old house, renovated up to modern standard and decorated with much love. Two balconies and one terrace face the harbor. It´s situated in a silent street but only 5 minutes to walk to the city centre with lovely cafés and restaurants. Our children (13,16) were as enthusiastic as us. The owner left us 'Cornish Tea' and 'Shortbread' as a welcome present.

We walked along the coastal footpath to Glendurgan Gardens (4h), visited the castle in Falmouth and spent lovely times on the 'Halyle Sands' beach.

We're looking forward to come back next holidays.

Alles war perfekt bei Helena

  • 5 of 5
