Guestbook comments from the manager

Thank you so much for sharing your home. It's a gorgeous, well built, well designed and beautifully decorated piece of heaven. We didn't have the heart to catch the fish, so we just fed them and enjoyed watching them on the banks of your peaceful property. We loved morning runs and walks through the neighborhood as well as quiet nights in the hot tub and by the fire pit. For one Colorado native and four Texans this will always be a sweet memory thanks to your mountain paradise!

Excellent cabin perfect for a family getaway.

  • 5 of 5

We had such an amazing stay at this cute cabin. The location was perfect for out needs, just a quick drive to Crested Butte. We loved being right on the river and watching the deer every morning in the yard. The cabin was clean and comfortable and well stocked with anything you could need.

A Very Fine Home

  • 4 of 5

Very nice home with tasteful decor, very clean, comfortable spaces. It was a pleasure to stay there. One suggestion: better lighting in the kitchen, hallway and pantry.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for staying in our home. What a great suggestion on the lighting. We have instructed our maintenance staff to up the wattage in the fixtures that will allow it in those rooms. Safe travels and we look forward to having you stay with us again.

Great Cabin Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

This was a beautiful cabin that had everything you would ever need. It is on a great spot along the river and the accommodations are perfect it has everything you will need. We had 4 of us staying the week and it worked out perfectly it was very relaxing environment with nice big deck and patio. It looked just like the photos on the web site. It is a great location to get to all the sites and great outdoor actives in the area. If you don't want to cook there are some great places to eat very close as well.

Excellent house

  • 4 of 5

Our family of four recently stayed for a week at the Fisherman's Dream and very much enjoyed the house. As for the layout...master and loft up, 2 bedrooms and great room down. Very big and functional garage. Big patio, but due to the configuration of the house, there is no direct door to the patio, but that isn't a big deal. You can walk out the "front" or "back" door and get there. The Gunnison River has a small split, the smaller side has a foot bridge over it to an island on the main river, and upstream of the split is the riverside cabin. The interior of the house is better than the pictures. Very well provisioned, very clean. Only quibbles were a few small kitchen things (need a BBQ brush) and I think a full size couch would be nice. The cabin by the stream is awesome for sitting on the deck. Our only real complaint is that the riverside and island need some bank improvements. It is essentially impossible to fish the river from the property due to willows and an overabundance of cottonwood. The river is barely visible. Trees appear to be marked for removal, so that could be underway. The outdoor areas probably need to be rethought. For instance, there are paths to the cabin, footbridge, etc. but they don't make much sense. The patio is huge, but doesn't have much on it other than the hottub and fire pit (fire pit is awesome, by the way). The house serves as a great base to explore the area, and the grounds have the potential to be incredible. As is, they are merely good for now. I think the owners are new and they very clearly are putting in a lot of effort and have done a great job. The management company was great to deal with also. Other things...the house is only about 800 - 1000 feet from Garlic Mike's, a fun good restaurant. The road in front of the house and the "neighborhood" is great for kids to ride bikes. It is only about 2 miles down to the City Market, which was great. All in all, a very good experience.
