About Stacey and Shellie Seering

My wife and I have lived in the Duluth area for 16 years and love all it has to offer, everything from a mountainous hike to a fabulous meal and classic play downtown. Our home is on the same property as the guest house and we are around to help with any questions or needs during your stay.

Why Stacey and Shellie Seering chose Minnesota

This is truly an enchanted piece of property which causes instant relaxation upon your arrival. Our previous guests have described Singing Waters as "magical." We have, and you will fall in love with Singing Waters!

What makes this house unique

The property is located on the best section of the Sucker River that has its own private swimming hole and waterfalls. The constant sound of the river is calming and peaceful. A very short hike (300 feet) downstream brings you to over 150 acres of state land and hiking.

Great north country getaway

  • 5 of 5

b Our family of 6 likes to go to the Duluth area at least once a year, especially in the fall of the year. We have lodged in most options available and decided to try a vacation rental by owner this year. I'm so glad this was our first experience with this type of rental. No hassle, easy booking, friendly owners, about the easiest and least stressful vacation a family could want, that was just the booking side of the vacation! As for the location and accommodations, I would say it was about perfect for a stay in the north country. The wooded location on the river was amazing, the guest house was warm and inviting( although we didn't spend a lot of time indoors, honestly this property has so much to see and do outdoors)and had everything we as a family of 6 (kids from 13-3) needed!

We don't really rest and relax on vacation and that's why singing waters guest house was perfect for us. We did all the hiking and sightseeing and running around that we normally do, and then at the end of the day we didn't have to go back to a hotel room or some cramped cabin! Actually, we looked forward to getting back, making a fire in the fire pit and watching a movie after we finally watched the sun set!

We will definitely be back, only next time we will stay longer, there are still some trails on the property that haven't been "adventured" like my boys would say!

We couldn't agree more that the autumn season is the very best time to visit, it's like everything is in high definition! Please come back and let those boys do some 'adventuring!'😀🌲🍃🌾 We'll keep everything ready for you. S & S

A Quiet Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were looking for a quiet getaway and Singing Waters was just the place. We were close enough to enjoy the bustle of Duluth and were still able to escape to the quiet beauty a little house in the woods.

Spectacular getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My only recommendation would be a few more pots for cooking and storage containers for left overs. Other than that it was great! We truly enjoyed our stay at Singing Waters. Stacey was very accommodating to us because of an early arrival. He also replenished our firewood very quickly while we were enjoying a camp fire. The views are breathtaking with only a minute of a walk from the art studio. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for the whole family

  • 5 of 5

Singing Waters was everything we hoped for and more! My family (myself, my wife, our 4 year old son, and our 2 year old daughter) stayed here over a long weekend and we couldn't have been more happy with the place. The owners have literally thought of everything that could make both kids and adults happy; with acres to roam, peaceful seating areas, a fully equipped kitchen, lawn games, and a fun and challenging scavenger hunt for the little ones. We even arrived to balloons and cookies for our daughter's birthday! Our children consistently asked us if we could just stay at the property all day instead of venturing out to local state parks and trails (for those with small children, you know just how great this place must be!). This is a place I can see our family visiting time and again. Thank you for sharing your space with us and for making us feel so at home during our stay!

bucolic retreat

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful hideaway deep in the northern woods. The cabin was impeccably clean and well-maintained. Kitchen contained virtually everything needed to handle family with two teenage kids. Lovely property with plenty of room to roam and enjoy the outdoors. Teenage kids had no problem ditching the electronic hardware and instead participating in activities across the acreage, especially the swimming hole. While the cabin is remote, it is nonetheless conveniently close to Duluth to enable sightseeing excursions as part of everyday activities. Owners Stacie and Shellie are conveniently close to the cabin to handle any questions, needs, issues, etc. But they do not intrude in any way on the guests' privacy. When planning and following through on a vacation trip, I always hope that it will go off without a hitch. No problem in that regard with respect to the owners, who delivered the premises without any difficulties or shortcomings. I have no problem with highly recommending this facility for any family seeking an exhilarating vacation experience. I hope to be able to return myself some day.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the winsome review! I have to admit my vocabulary is not up to where it should, so I had to look up the meaning of 'bucolic.' I was pleasantly surprised with the definition: bu·col·ic byo͞oˈkälik/ adjective of or relating to the pleasant aspects of the countryside and country life We'll Take It!😀 Singing Waters is a respite from the hustle of normal city life. We have a fondness for hosting multi-generation groups, such as yours. Providing a place for everyone to connect to each other, instead of to their cell phones, is one of our objectives! From the moment you stepped out of your car, I realized what a charming man you are. Please come stay with us again! S & S

When you look for a vacation house you want a few key elements. You want a clean, well kept, unique and cozy space. You want to be able to sit on your screened in porch and listen to the wild life or rolling thunder of a late summer storm. You want your kids to be excited to sleep in the loft and step out on her own balcony. You want to laugh and sit around a table and enjoy a delicious home cooked meal. You want to explore a new environment in nature and sit in a day bed by a rushing river. You want to jump in that river and explore the banks. You want to feel far far far away and untouchable from today's technology. That is Singing Waters. That is what you will get when you stay here! Thank you for the memories.
