My wife and I have lived in the Duluth area for 16 years and love all it has to offer, everything from a mountainous hike to a fabulous meal and classic play downtown. Our home is on the same property as the guest house and we are around to help with any questions or needs during your stay.
Stacey and Shellie Seering purchased this house in 2012
This is truly an enchanted piece of property which causes instant relaxation upon your arrival. Our previous guests have described Singing Waters as "magical." We have, and you will fall in love with Singing Waters!
The property is located on the best section of the Sucker River that has its own private swimming hole and waterfalls. The constant sound of the river is calming and peaceful. A very short hike (300 feet) downstream brings you to over 150 acres of state land and hiking.
We cannot say enough about the positive experience we had staying at Singing Waters. First off, Stacey and Shellie were the best of hosts, making us feel so welcome and comfortable staying at their beautiful home. The fresh baked cookies added such a sweet first impression and we immediately felt at home and had so much fun finding all the special Whimsical decorations inside and outside of the house.
I don't know what we favored more: The screened in porch for morning coffee, the bonfire for late night drinks or the Cabana Bed for daytime book reading. Completely happy with everything about this stay and will be reserving several weekends next year as well. Thank you both for everything, and we are going to grab Shellie for bonfire laughs when we come back in the spring for another girls getaway!
We stayed at Singing Waters for an extended weekend with friends and absolutely loved it. From the charming lodging to the beautiful nature it was the perfect place for a relaxing fall retreat! We hope to make it a yearly tradition!
b Our family of 6 likes to go to the Duluth area at least once a year, especially in the fall of the year. We have lodged in most options available and decided to try a vacation rental by owner this year. I'm so glad this was our first experience with this type of rental. No hassle, easy booking, friendly owners, about the easiest and least stressful vacation a family could want, that was just the booking side of the vacation! As for the location and accommodations, I would say it was about perfect for a stay in the north country. The wooded location on the river was amazing, the guest house was warm and inviting( although we didn't spend a lot of time indoors, honestly this property has so much to see and do outdoors)and had everything we as a family of 6 (kids from 13-3) needed!
We don't really rest and relax on vacation and that's why singing waters guest house was perfect for us. We did all the hiking and sightseeing and running around that we normally do, and then at the end of the day we didn't have to go back to a hotel room or some cramped cabin! Actually, we looked forward to getting back, making a fire in the fire pit and watching a movie after we finally watched the sun set!
We will definitely be back, only next time we will stay longer, there are still some trails on the property that haven't been "adventured" like my boys would say!
My husband and I were looking for a quiet getaway and Singing Waters was just the place. We were close enough to enjoy the bustle of Duluth and were still able to escape to the quiet beauty a little house in the woods.
My only recommendation would be a few more pots for cooking and storage containers for left overs. Other than that it was great! We truly enjoyed our stay at Singing Waters. Stacey was very accommodating to us because of an early arrival. He also replenished our firewood very quickly while we were enjoying a camp fire. The views are breathtaking with only a minute of a walk from the art studio. We would definitely stay here again!
Singing Waters was everything we hoped for and more! My family (myself, my wife, our 4 year old son, and our 2 year old daughter) stayed here over a long weekend and we couldn't have been more happy with the place. The owners have literally thought of everything that could make both kids and adults happy; with acres to roam, peaceful seating areas, a fully equipped kitchen, lawn games, and a fun and challenging scavenger hunt for the little ones. We even arrived to balloons and cookies for our daughter's birthday! Our children consistently asked us if we could just stay at the property all day instead of venturing out to local state parks and trails (for those with small children, you know just how great this place must be!). This is a place I can see our family visiting time and again. Thank you for sharing your space with us and for making us feel so at home during our stay!
