About the property

Beautifully decorated and fully renovated historic house sleeps up to 10.

Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec dates are available (many say it is the best time to visit Nantucket). Read our reviews ... all of our guests have LOVED the house, location, decor, new kitchen and amenities, gardens, and historical charm and character,.

The Aaron Paddack House was originally built in 1820 for the renowned Captain of the Whaleship Diana and his family. Captain Paddack played an important role in the historical story of the Whaleship Essex, and in Nathaniel Philbrick's best-selling book "In the Heart of the Sea" (pg. 189, 203, 263-4, 269. 271-2)

7 New Mill Street is a traditional Nantucket four-bay house in immaculate condition. This historic 4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath house has been completely renovated, restored, and designer-decorated last year, to create a modern, warm, and comfortable living space while preserving the historical nature and integrity of the home. Renovation includes a new custom kitchen (with Subzero refrigerator, Wolf stove/range, & Bosch dishwasher), master suite and bath, new office alcove and powder room, new central air conditioning & heat, tankless hot water, outdoor shower, utility/mudroom, new side entranceway with double french doors, and much, much more. The house is also newly furnished with high-quality and comfortable furnishings throughout. All kitchen amenities including Nespresso, Cuisinart coffee maker, GE microwave, toaster, blender, disposal, etc. included. This property can sleep up to 10 people. Includes a outdoor covered patio with new outdoor seating and dining furniture, gas grill and wonderful large gardens in rear.

The Aaron Paddack House is offered for weekly or longer rentals in high-season, shorter rentals possible in other times of year.

About Jim R

We have been visiting Nantucket as a family for over 20 years and adore the beauty, history, culture, people and the overall feeling of the island. This is the second home we've owned on Nantucket, and the first historical home. We approached the renovation with a goal of maintaining the historical integrity of the home while assuring it has the comfort, design, and amenities for modern living.

Jim R purchased this house in 2013

Why Jim R chose Nantucket

We have put a great amount of thought and effort into creating a comfortable and liveable house while respecting the historic nature of the house and the island. Now In our fourth season of renting since our complete renovation, our guests have loved the decor, location and the many small touches that makes it a "home away from home" for all. Each season we continue to make further upgrades to the decor and amenities, making it a fresh experience for our many returning guests.

Stunning centrally located ACK home

  • 5 of 5

The Aaron Paddack house was a perfect fit for our group. Jim has done an immaculate job of modernizing the home but keeping it true to its roots. It's warm, inviting, and easy to live in. They spared no expense from the quality fixtures and appliances down to the towels and sheets. He was a great communicator prior to our trip and made sure everything was thought of and taken care of during our stay. It was a short walk into town and the perfect location for our stay. We would absolutely come back to stay here again!

Great location, beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay on new mill street. The owners left detailed instructions and helpful information for us. The house was well appointed and the location is prime. The outdoor space was where we spent most of our time, so comfortable and charming. We cannot wait to stay at this house again next visit to Nantucket.

Thanks again

Great house for Memorial Day Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time spending memorial day weekend at this home. The house was absolutely stunning and had everything we needed while we were staying there. Beautiful bedding and furniture. We loved how close it was to town but also felt like it was on a nice quiet street. We would love to stay at this house next time we visit Nantucket.

Great town location

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from Nantucket/ staying at this house and had a great time. We were two families staying @ the house with 4 little girls. The bedroom on the top floor w/ 4 beds was perfect. The house renovations are great and I love that much of the original detail was retained. The kitchen is good for cooking big meals. The house is a short walk to town which we loved. We rented bikes (no car) and used them to get around the island. The owner was very attentive before we arrived to make sure our stay would be great. Thanks!

Amazing Home!

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to Nantucket for many years and have never stayed at a home that was as perfect as this. We had 3 couples and 4 teens and the house layout was great, the renovation was done with much thought for the history of the house and a modern way of life. High end furnishings, cooks kitchen and plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. The dining area worked well for family dinners, we sent the teens out to the outdoor table for many of the meals. The location was perfect for walking into town for meals when you didn't feel like cooking and for shopping. So much freedom for each of us to do what we wanted. We returned our rental car and replaced with bikes, easy access to bike paths, our favorite beaches, and the cisco brewery! The house was well stocked with towels, including beach towels, beach chairs, linens, kitchenware, laundry supplies and plenty of storage for clothing in each bedroom. They really thought of everything. The back covered patio worked well for early evening relaxation and games, the yard was well maintained and the established flowers and greens were a bonus for a spot in town. Highly recommend!!! We will be back!
