Southern Lancaster County has been my home for my entire life. I live 10 minutes away from Creekside Cottage and have been in the Real Estate business for many years. It has been my vision to create a place for guests to stay while visiting beautiful Southern Lancaster County. Creekside Cottage's manager, Carol Gibson, a retired teacher, was also born and raised in Southern Lancaster County.
This property is adjacent to my country cabin and stables. The rich history and natural attractions in this area inspired me to build Creekside Cottage. Come learn, relax and explore this beautiful area!
I designed Creekside Cottage with comfort and efficiency in mind. The wood used for the kitchen island, kitchen table, walls in the den and Master bathroom all came from the trees on my property. If you stroll down behind the cottage, you will discover the most amazing natural rock wall. May you find peace, comfort and serenity during your visit!
We were so looking forward to coming back to Creekside Cottage!! The cottage was as lovely as we remembered, clean, welcoming with seasonal decorations, fresh fruit, and flowers. We were happy and surprised to see the door on the master bedroom!!! It saved our lifelong friends from hearing my husband snore for two nights. We had a wonderful reunion in this extremely enchanting place. We are sorry we missed Don when he stopped by. We so forward for the basement being finished. Our kids are can't wait to sleeping and hang out down there, next time we come. Thanks again for everything! It is really the best place!!
The setting near the creek is very special, best experienced out on the deck. The rental process was seamlessly smooth, thanks to the efficiency and caring concern of Carol, the manager. Though it was just my wife and me, I could see that the house was designed in such a way that a larger group of, say, four or six would have space for being together as well as allowing individuals or pairs spots to enjoy more private moments. The house was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. The property is conveniently located for visiting interesting towns such as Havre de Grace, MD to the south and Lancaster, PA to the north (about 30-45 minutes each way), as well as the bucolic and heavily Amish countryside of Lancaster County. On the way home we enjoyed the massive Sunday brunch at the Best Western Eden Resort on the outskirts of Lancaster. The Creekside Cottage is definitely on our list for a return visit!
Comfortable, and well stocked, Clean and homey. Newer home built in the last couple of years, just perfectly placed beside a gravel road along a creek. Quiet secluded home with a well stocked and equipped kitchen, laundry, deck with screened area, and nice fire pit and firewood supplied.
Carol met us at check-in and was friendly and pleasant, making sure we knew where everything was. Unlike other places we have rented, our host provided everything we needed. I suggest you check in before you pick up your groceries. Laundry soap, paper supplies, kitchen spices and condiments, coffee, even mosquito repellent were provided.
Don, the owner, who lives right down the road, dropped in on us mid week to make sure we were comfortable and see if he could do anything to make our stay better. Don is truly neighborly and pleasant, like an old friend dropping by.
The negatives are few. The host provides wi-fi connection but it is poor quality, blame Frontier communication for that, Verizon service is almost non existent. The bedrooms don't have television, the master bedroom has TV but only connected to DVD.
Overall this home is A++ rental, we typically don't revisit places (there is so much of the world yet to see) but this one will be calling us back.
Thanks, Don for your hospitality
Home sweet home is exactly how it feels here from the moment you step in the door. They have provided me and my family with everything we could possibly need to just sit back and relax on our vacation. The house is immaculate and the surroundings are wonderful. U can go hiking down the trails or play in the brook then relax by their fire pit. It was everything me and my family had hoped for and more. Thank you
Don & Carol,
Thank you for your hospitality, smiles, insight and warm hearts. Creekside cottage is a "little piece of heaven on earth." Our vacation was just that, a vacation. We took in all the beauty that surrounded us, the deer, birds singing, hummingbirds hovering, the crazy cardinal knocking on the door, the freshness in the air and the beauty of the hollow and babbling brook. I read the book by Tom Smith, "Drumore Echoes" and fell in love with the history and fell back in time as I explored the area and imagined life here 100-200 years ago. We followed Fishing Creek Hollow to the mighty Susquehanna River and took in all the sights of the beautiful landscape. As we leave today to go back home, my heart is full of joy knowing we will be back hopefully in January to celebrate my wife's birthday. The season will have changed, but I know the beauty of " this little piece of heaven on earth" will have a different face of nature's wonder. Thank you lord for your bounty is great.

We went on a family trip with my husbands grandparents, his mom & step dad, us, and our toddler. EVERYONE had an amazing time! Carol met us there and welcomed us into the beautiful home. She showed us around and told us we were welcome to everything. We didn't need to go out and get anything else. The house is very well stocked. The down stairs was perfect for our grandparents. and the upstairs was perfect for the rest of us. We had more than enough room to put our pack n play in our bedroom. The views were stunning. It was easy to get to, and quiet. We met Don the 2nd night of our stay and he was great! It was nice to see such hospitable people who really care about their renters. I can't say enough positive things. We only wish we would have stayed longer! We will definitely be coming back!
