Wonderful house, great location

  • 5 of 5

Really nice house with a large master suite and 2 comfortable rooms for additional family or kids. Great backyard for BBQ, and a short 2 block walk to beach. Would love to rent it again.

Wonderful home, great location

  • 5 of 5

We love this house! We stayed for 7 days and didn't want to leave. The home is inviting and comfortable. It is decorated nicely and I love the painted walls. The yard is awesome, private and open. Perfect for kids and dogs, as you can keep and eye on them through the kitchen window. The master bedroom is spacious; and the bed is nice and firm. We slept really well! Owner is very accommodating, provided a high chair for us at our request both times we stayed( this is our second year). The location is desirable, a short drive to ththe boardwalk and very close to capitola. It's within walking distance of coffee shop, pizza, restaurants, ice cream, clothes stores.. almost anything you need is right there, including the beach! Short walk to the cliffs and pleasure point. We enjoyed watching the surfers and also exploring the tide pools at pleasure point. Can't wait until next year!

Great spot near pleasure point.

  • 5 of 5

My family really enjoyed our stay at this property. Close to the beach and walking distance to Capitola and other nearby cool spots. Clean, well maintained and a great kitchen space to cook and relax with friends and family.

Very clean! and well stocked with everything we needed for our family.

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our family get together. The flow in the home is great! We were able to have people over and bbcue and hangout without being on top of each other. Only thing missing was outside umbrellas as its summer but luckily we brought a big pop up canopy : ) Thanks!

Charming Pleasure Point cottage

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Oasis. The house is darling with plenty of room and the hot tub was a wonderful amenity at the end of the day. Kitchen is well stocked, lots of towels and everything worked fine. We took our son and a few of his friends who enjoyed walking to 38th street and surfing. My only complaint (and it isn't with the property) is that HomeAway's fees are too high. You end up paying almost double what the advertised rate per night is. It did not used to be that way with VRBO.

Pleasure Point
Car: recommended

Pleasure Point offers several beaches to walk along and explore. The tide pools (easier to find @ LOW tide) are educational and interesting; each pool it's own little universe. You will find sea anemone, starfish, crab, shrimp, and several different shell covered mollusks in each tide pool. A variety of sea plants create a seascape of shapes and colors known only to this area. Stargazing is a must as well. With a lack of city light interference on a clear night you are able to almost pluck the stars from the sky. Tide-pool Gazing and Stargazing a classic combination, as noted by Steinbeck in 'The Log from the Sea of Cortez'~'It is advisable to look from the tide pool to the stars and then back to the tide pool again.'

Skim boarding is also a very Santa Cruzesque sport for the adventurous, and well... balanced. If you haven't tried it Santa Cruz totally recommends it. A simple beginner's skim board is way less of an investment than a surf board and more versatile too!

Drive just 10 minutes from Pleasure Point and you are at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Dare to ride the Giant Dipper, the famous wooden roller coaster, or the recently updated haunted house? The Boardwalk always has some surprises in store for the whole family. Laser tag, miniature golf, tons of rides and arcade games.

The Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf is a must see for legendary Stagnaro's seafood, views of the entire bay, whale watching tours, fishing, and Marini's salt water taffy. Don't forget to say 'Hi' to the sea lions and enjoy the world class clam chowder. The Santa Cruz Harbor is also a local favorite. The Crow's Nest Restaurant has live entertainment most nights, including comedy night on Sundays.
