Welcome to 'Our Climbers Cabin'!
Come in and open the 8' barn doors, grab a seat, relax and watch the sunset!
The cabin was built on 2.5 acres, approx 1 mile from the Western Gate to Joshua Tree National Park. It was built with a ton of good vibes and help from friends. It's a simple place, open concept with a large kitchen dinning area, a large bathroom and huge loft sleeping room. The kitchen offers a double sink, tons of counter space, hot pad, bar area, refrigerator and picnic table for wonderful group meals (feel free to move it outside as well). The cabin offer both heating and AC with a EUR style wall mount unit which is more than enough to keep the cabin very comfortable. There is Internet and Wifi as well as cell service at the property.
The upstairs offers a large loft for additional sleeping that can hold 8 folks without an issue. There is a queen Futon bed along with 4 sleeping pads for your use and a single futon bed down stairs. You will need to bring your own outdoor chairs, sleeping bags, pads, pillows and personal towels.
Depending on your preference and weather you can cook in, BBQ outside or restaurants are a couple miles away.
There is a large parking area and a small tack house with power that can also be used for sleeping or as a storage area for gear.
10 friends and climbing buddies tired of sleeping on the ground or in our cars for weeks on end decided to pool every penny we had back then and buy this property. That was over 18 years ago and we all still love our little slice of heaven. Now our families get to enjoy it as well. You will enjoy the vibe the minute you walk in!
Cheers, The Partners
Shawn Sampson purchased this cabin in 1997
Even back then, the Park was getting harder and harder to get a camping spot in, so we decided to build our own. Best part back then and still today, is a hot shower at the end of the day playing in the park!
On any given day there is something to do and see just out the door. Great hikes around the local mountains, a walk down the road checking out local artists or just hanging out watching the day go by. It really is that easy to relax... must be the water (which by the way is great right out of the tap!)
Hi Mr Sampson,

for sharing this place.
Merci à la prochaine.
We enjoyed a fantastic weekend at the cabin! 6 of us plus dogs...for stress free, low maintenance quality family time. The cabin is so close to the west entrance to JTNP and bonus *free entry weekend*. We hiked Ryan Mountain and drove to Keys View for sights over the Salton Sea and San Jacinto. The rocky hill near the cabin provided a nice scramble for my son and I on Easter mornIng. We BBQ'ed and had campfires in the pit 2 nights...3rd night was too gusty so we went to Pappy & Harriet's for food and fun! Great location and had everything we needed so we didn't have to pack much of our camping gear.
The cabin met all our needs! We loved the space, the full-size fridge, the barn doors, and the proximity to excellent hiking and climbing. Oh, and the flowers this year were incredible. We stayed for a week, and most nights it was calm enough to sit outside with a fire in the firepit. Our daughter is a master s'more maker :)
We had one day and night with fierce winds, but inside it was toasty warm. That night, we enjoyed good food and conversation. We were thinking how nice it might be to have a journal in the cabin, so that guests could share their thoughts, poems, or inspirations. Anyway, thanks for creating such a great space!
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, and this place was perfect for us. We're two professionals who like to backpack, but for this trip wanted a shower, a quiet retreat (not a campground), and a place to cook. Our primary objectives for our trip were to explore the park and do as much hiking as possible.
It's very close to the park entrance and also close to restaurants, grocery stores, gas, etc. We were surprised that we didn't need to go to restaurants during this trip. There is a full fridge and freezer, 4 hot plates, a charcoal grill, a toaster oven, a coffee maker, and several other tools/appliances for cooking. We had been worried about the lack of a full kitchen, but we were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to prepare meals here.
The owner Shawn was responsive via e-mail, and the property manager Sarah was very accommodating when we had a special request. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!
We loved our time here. It's a nice cabin, almost feels like camping, but out of the wind with soft beds. A great place to spend time with friends and family and visit Joshua Tree.
For someone wanting to camp with warm water, shower, and roof over their head, this was great. We typically camp, but really enjoyed this cabin as "Deluxe camping".
Think "Little House on the Prairie" with a fridge, heater, and warm water. Very cozy and fun.
Bring a camping stove, indoor shoes/slippers, dish and shower towels, some games, some music, some wine, and a camera for fun memories.
We will stay here again, for sure. 10 times better than staying in a hotel.
There are some great restaurants in the town of Joshua Tree 2 miles away as well and in the Yucca Valley which offers a much larger selection of food stores and is less than 8 miles away. The other fun place to visit is Pioneer Town which is about 15 miles from the cabin and of course Palm Springs.
