About Marilyn Lambert

We live in South Louisiana and absolutely love it! We are married and have three children, ages 25, 23 and 19. In the short time since we built our cabins, we have already met so many interesting people from as far away as Minnesota and Alberta, Canada. We are looking forward to meeting many more and can't wait to help you enjoy and explore our beautiful state.

Why Marilyn Lambert chose Louisiana

We love South Louisiana, because our way of life is very unique. Within a very short driving distance, there are so many places to see and adventures to experience. Louisiana is often referred to as 'Sportsman's Paradise.' This is so true!

The nearby Atchafalaya Basin is the nation's largest river swamp, containing almost one million acres of America's most significant bottomland hardwoods, swamps, bayous, and backwater lakes.

When you launch your boat into Pierre Part Bay, you will have access to endless waterways, including Lake Verret and Belle River. Bring your own fishing gear to experience some of the best fresh-water fishing in the country. If you are a bass fisherman, you can access bass-fishing paradise through Bayou Boeuf, Flat Lake, Lake Verret, Six Mile Lake, Lower Atchafalaya River, Bayou Long, Duck Lake and many others.

Numerous day trips are available including plantation tours of historic River Road Plantations, the Louisiana Capitol City of Baton Rouge, the French Quarter, the National World War II Museum, Audubon Zoo, the Aquarium of the Americas all located in historic and fun-filled New Orleans.

This is the second time we stayed at the Cajun cabin and will stay there when ever we are in the area. It is finished with tender love and care. Very relaxing and comfortable.

Cajun Living

  • 5 of 5

The Cabin was super clean. We love the cabin view of the water with dock right across the street to grill, just hang out what the boat and ducks. Really nice people there. We love that it is walking distance to the bait shop, boat launch and snowball stand. The fishing was good also. We would love to go back one day!!!!

Perfect annual Louisiana trip

  • 5 of 5

Eddie and Marilyn's Cajun cabin is beyond perfect. It smells so good when you walk in - very clean - and cozy. Eddie and Miss Lori met us at the cabin to get us settled and were more than welcoming and gave of great recommendations. Sunday Eddie and Lori invited us out on Lake Verret to check lines and we caught a 20 lbs blue catfish. As if that wasn't enough they invited us to their houseboat to fry the fish up and have a Cajun meal. This family is the definition of southern hospitality. Will continue to stay at the little jewel again and again!

Our June stay at Big Cajun---OUTSTANDING

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I, along with two friends, stayed at Big Cajun for a couple of nights last week as we toured the Louisiana waterways on the Belle River and Lake Verret. The accommodations at Big Cajun were way above and beyond our expectations and the hospitality offered by the owners was fantastic. The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable and well equipped for guests. The decor and construction is a great story in its' own right. We had another couple of friends that stayed in Little Cajun at the same time and their experience was equal to ours.

If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the amenities of Sportsman's Paradise in Southern Louisiana, Big Cajun and Little Cajun are the way to go. Don't forget to visit the Driftwood Man at the end of the street and enjoy a walk through Pierre Part Store- It has everything from soup to nuts and that is not an exaggeration!
