About Patricia Pattison
Ever since my husband was a small child he would spend the summers on Norway lake in Maine. His parents would rent a Maine camp on the lake and he would have the time of his life swimming, playing games and just enjoying his family without the outside interferences of the world. He had the time of his life. This yearly trek continued every year for the past 40 years. We love the clean water, the quiet, the pines and everything else Norway lake has to offer. We currently reside in Vermont with our 2 dogs and 2 cats and head up to Maine about three times per year. With the dogs I might add... They love it too!
Patricia Pattison purchased this Cottage in 2002
Why Patricia Pattison chose Norway
About 12 years ago we had the opportunity to purchase our camp... something we have been talking about for years.. We love lake Pennesseewassee, otherwise known as Norway lake for the clean water, size lake... big enough for a speed boat but not busy, and the proximity to major cities such as Portland, which is only an hour away. This was the perfect location and we jumped on it. Since that time we have offered our camp to friends and family. We have found that even though our camp is not huge and is more quaint than modern, our guests just love staying there. My husband and I decided it was time to offer our camp to others so they might enjoy. We also wanted to open our camp to any one that has a dog.... our dogs are part of our family and that was important to us.
What makes this Cottage unique
Some of the things I love about our place is that it's close to the water - only 30 feet from the lake. The grounds to the waters edge are fairly flat so its easier walking. The camp is located on the east side of the lake, which means it gets direct sun from about 11:00 am until sunset. And the sunsets are glorious....Our camp is child friendly and dog friendly. If you wish to get away from the craziness of the world... this is the place... our camp will take you back to a simpler time and you will reconnect with your family and nature. One of my favorite activities is swinging on the hammock, listening to the loons or the fish jumping and watching the pines above... It's so relaxing. Or sitting at the dining room table with my coffee looking out at the lake.... or on one of the adirondack chairs by the waters edge just taking it all in... Also, on a clear night when it's dark to walk down to the dock and look up at the sky... wait a few minutes and you will see hundreds of stars and then see shooting stars. In the distance you may hear a wolf, a moose, a loon and fishing jumping. It's food for the soul.

Just like the pictures
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect but the lake was even better. It was very hard to leave and go anywhere else because we loved the location, the sounds, the nature. It was all so beautiful. Directions with landmarks would help find the cabin. It is very remote. Note to cleaning person, a few things could be cleaned a little better, the fan, the light fixtures, the window sills. And I asked around, and nobody ever heard of a place that doesn't supply towels. Luckily, we were able to borrow from family. We would definitely stay here again, especially now that we know what we need to supply for ourselves. It is beautiful!!!
Our stay was outstanding! It was everything we wanted for a perfect long weekend. It is very private. Our dog was able to run free without bothering neighbors, the camp was perfect (though we used the dock more), and the lake is absolutely beautiful. We had marvelous sunsets all 5 nights. I would certainly recommend this camp to anyone. Thank you so much!
great get away home
Everything was exactly as stated, no surprises. A great home to get away, tucked away at the end of the street. The dock was perfect and the swim area from the dock was great.
Absolutely love it.
We had an awesome time. Cannot wait to go back next year!
This was our second time staying here and it was amazing!! We swam and fished everyday. Really enjoyed our stay. Can’t wait to go back!!
Quiet and realxing
Had a good time listening to the loons . The camp was simple but comfortable and just right for us. Had to leave early due to family emergency on Wednesday and forgot our crab sandwiches in refrigerator so we apologize to owners and missed out on our special lunch. Shower and faucet in bathroom we fixed and are now working great. They were filled with so much sediment the water didn't run but hope that makes up for the leftover crab rolls. Anyway nice , quiet, secluded and overall fun spot.
Thanks for your feedback. Glad you enjoy the peacefulness of the lake. Unfortunately, the week started out with torrential rains which caused all the sediment. The water is pumped in from the lake which is why the sediment was in the water. But glad we were able to fix so you could enjoy the rest of the week.
Thanks for staying with us and for your positive comments.
