This one bedroom retreat is the first floor of our home and is located right on lake Monona. It has recently been remodeled and has 9 foot ceilings and huge windows overlooking the lake. The apartment is equipped with a large flat screen TV, cable, wireless internet. There is a queen bed with luxury sheets as well as a futon sleeper sofa for that will comfortably sleep 2 children. The kitchen is equipped with a 2 burner stove, microwave, mini fridge and sink.
We have NFL Sunday ticket! Watch any and all professional football games from the comfort of our apartment. This is also a great location to stay for Badger football, basketball and hockey games. Welcome Wisconsin Alumni and Go Badgers!
Although the apartment itself is designed to be a relaxing retreat, there is so much to do out doors you might not spend much time inside. Have coffee on the dock in the morning. Then spend the day on the lake fishing. Alternatively, spend the afternoon biking or running around the lake on the bike path, which you can pick up just a block from the house. Not the outdoorsy type? Don't worry, there are plenty of downtown activities within walking distance. The Capital is just a 10 minute walk, as are all the best restaurants, cafes and nightlife that Madison has to offer. The UW campus is about a mile and half and can easily be biked, walked or catch a bus across the street from the apartment. This downtown lakefront location really has the best of both worlds.
Our facility has been inspected and licensed by the State of Wisconsin and City of Madison.
This apartment is a non-smoking facility.
My husband is an avid fisherman and has always dreamed of living on the lake. When this property became available, it was just what we had been looking for - it is our cabin/lake house right in the heart of town. As we love to entertain, it seemed like a perfect fit for us to open our home via VRBO.
Leah Zalapa purchased this apartment in 2013
Nice place where your front yard opens up right onto the lake. Fairly small but plenty large enough for 1-2 people to stay there. Easy walking distance to downtown Madison
I stayed with two of my colleagues in this beautiful space on the lake. Brought a sleeping mat and we each slept comfortably on our own space!
This would be a perfect place for a family, a small group of friends wanting a cozy place to stay, or two couples if they didn't mind sharing space. Very clean and nicely decorated, with everything you'll need for a relaxing stay including lots of good books! (We panicked about taking one home accidentally, so maybe would be nice to let guests know that it's a "take one-leave one" situation?) Very nice to have coffee, soap etc. included in the rental. And of course use of the kayaks!
Great neighbourhood and amazing ambience with a lovely back patio, quiet street, and nice dock for reading. Really appreciated Leah's detailed recommendations for restaurants. Wish we'd had more time to explore; if I ever make it back to Madison will definitely be staying there again. Thanks very much for hosting us!
We were there to drop off our oldest daughter at the UW-Madison. Much better than a hotel and close to basically everything we wanted to do. We look forward to staying there again when we visit our daughter for a game. Kayaking on the glassy lake in the morning is a real treat. Until next time...
Super clean and cozy. Great sheets, towels, comfy bed. Kitchen is spare, works for breakfast, or sandwich lunch I would say. Good for couple or family with max 2 young kids who don't mind close quarters. Kayaks , gardens and lakefront dock terrific and peaceful!
We enjoyed our stay here wth our 6 year old twins while my husband had a conference downtown. There was a beautiful view every morning, great shades when we needed to sleep, comfortable and clean accommodations, and walking distance to a small beach and lots of interesting eateries. We brought our bikes and took advantage of being just steps from the many biking paths around the city, and found a new park or playground every day. We hope to make it back again!
The apartment is clean and cuter than most rentals we have been in. The futon was comfortable and a great place to watch lightening over the lake.
The neighborhood is perfect for a quick walk to everything you need.
The apartment is located just blocks from all the cafes and restaurants on Williamson St. It is just 2 blocks to the John Nolan bike path which is great for biking, walking and running. The Capital is a short walk to all the businesses, restaurants and nightlife.
