Beautiful home with lots of room and lots of amenities! Highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful time. Our whole family of ten had plenty of room. The game room was a nice addition when it rained. The lake was beautiful and our four year old grandson caught a fish with every cast! It was nice to have a washer and dryer when the need arose. We spent a lot of time outside on the deck which was gorgeous. There were deer in the yard every day! We really had a good time just being together in such a nice place. We would definitely come back!

Spectacular Cabin/Northwoods Luxury

  • 5 of 5

We have rented many homes through VRBO and this was absolutely the very best! We are a three generation family with 8 adults and currently 4 small children and growing. We prefer staying together in one big house and as we grow, it is harder to find homes that have adequate living space plus comfortable and quiet sleeping spaces. This beautiful lake home has it all and more. The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked including Le Creuset cookware, Krups coffee maker, crock pot, blender and an electric griddle. The great room floor plan provides plenty of space for a large groups to gather for cooking, dining and relaxing together. The giant porch/sunroom provides a great place for the kids and adults to play indoors and provided us with plenty of place to store toys and outdoor gear without cluttering the main living area. The lower level with a second full size refrigerator in the bar area, a pool table and comfortable furniture provided a great place to hang out on a rainy day. The two lower level bedrooms are comfortable and quiet. The upper level master bedroom suite is huge and well appointed. It is great to have a second level lofted bedroom that has walls so that it was quiet even when people are hanging out in the living room area. The three bathrooms were spacious with plenty of good towels and the owner provided a basket of lovely soaps and shampoos in each. The main floor laundry room was well used by our family! The outdoor space is also very nice and well maintained. The deck overlooking the lake is large and has plenty of seating space. We enjoyed the fire pit and chairs near the house on several evenings and appreciated the abundance of wood that was available for our use. The walk to the beach area is long and very steep for all. Thankfully the owners provided a four wheel mule that we loaded with towels, beach toys, and coolers. It was so helpful! The beach area includes another fire pit, wood and plenty of chairs. The beach area is wooded and not really a beach. The lake bottom is mucky and unfortunately the lake was covered with green algae and unusable for swimming off the dock. We rented a pontoon boat for the week that we took to a small island for swimming and playing in the sand that worked out well. The owners were easy to work with and answered all our advance questions promptly. The two bottles of wine that welcomed us was a very nice touch! It is a beautiful home and we loved our stay!!

After 20 years going to resorts on Little St. Germain lake, we are now spoiled

  • 5 of 5

I rented this home almost a year in advance. Our family of six with a couple grandparents stopping by was perfect in size. We all had our space!

The owners always easy to contact and quick to respond. Please read other reviews, because I will tell you what we loved. The teens saw about 100 deer, 4 bald eagles, 1 bear, 3 otters and 1 turtle during our week in the area and on the property. On the back deck, we saw 5 shooting stars around midnight when its dark as black. Although as mentioned in another review, swimming was not possible this time of year near the dock.

Amazing though, we caught, many perch and bluegills of very good size right under the dock. In fact the area is rather calm and seems to be in a fishing more than motorized area of the lake. Unfortunately, the otters got almost all our fish in a chain net one night. I learned that from a local bait shop. Something new for us.

I rented a boat and took the kids out tubing and they loved it! I never needed it for fishing, the fish came to us it seemed. The lake this early Aug. was warm. For the swimmers, I paid $11.00 for an out of state day pass for a sandy quarry like lake in a State park on Co. Rd. N. just west of Saynor (Crystal Lake campground). We loved that lake. In all my travels and I have never went swimming in a slow grade, clean, sandy, no weeds lake in the U.S. where my kids have loved more. We will go there every hot day in our future.

Back to the rental. The owners supplied, laundry soap, towels, fabric softeners, games, great cooking pans, dish tabs, t.p. up to date appliances, soaps, shampoos, linens, and every thing a person renting could dream of. I would not have packed as much had I actually known how almost nothing is needed. No mosquitoes while we were there so the fire pit we used was large and located in a great location near the lake. We never used the upper pit by the garage.

The back deck is heavenly to sit on and there was really no noise. All nature, all dark all peaceful and surrounded by the various trees.

I asked my four teens, "we'll are you spoiled now? will we be back to one of the resorts? They gave me the more expensive answer....'No'. Upon leaving, we all started to adjust to all the rental has to offer and wished we had another week here.

This property is absolutely beautiful.

The owners are easy to work with and very friendly. The home is amazing. So beautiful and peaceful. The kids loved taking rides on the atv. We brought our kayaks and used the 2 double kayaks provided to go on family excursion down the river. The only negative was the grandchildren couldn't swim at the cabin cuz the water was green with algae but we just used our rented pontoon to tie up to a nearby island and let them swim there. Despite the water we will definitely be back

We did a couples snowmobiling trip in January and the house was perfect for it. All the beds and bedrooms are large and comfortable. The entryway was perfect for storing our gear. The kitchen was full of all the necessary utensils and the owners welcomed us with 2 bottles of wine. The bar downstairs and pool table were nice to have also. Everyone was very impressed. Wishing we could return soon

A Thanksgiving to remember!

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to take our children and grandchildren, 12 of us in all, away for Thanksgiving and get reconnected and spend quality time away from the craziness of Chicago. This vacation was all we had hoped for and more. The home is absolutely beautiful with a gorgeous view. After 4 inches of snow fell on Thanksgiving, we felt like we were in an old holiday movie! We sat by a roaring fire, made an amazing Thanksgiving feast, enjoyed the complimentary wine that the owner had left us, played board games, took walks and enjoyed the view and met some of the local people there who were also very nice. The owner and his son are so gracious and helpful and do anything in their power to make your stay complete. There is plenty of space, the kitchen is totally stocked for cooking, the beds are configured for a large group with kids (we had 8 adults and 4 children). The WIFI works great if you have to stay connected to work. I tried to book it again for a week in the summer, but sadly found it was nearly booked solid! We will definitely be returning to this place.
