About Buzz Wisda
Aloha from Jim and Valorie Wisda. We recently moved to Scottsdale, Arizona from Palos Verdes Estates, California where we raised a wonderful son and daughter. We have been coming to Poipu since 1970 and no matter how often we travel to other places or countries we visit, like this picture in Thailand, we always look forward to coming back to Poipu several times a year.
Buzz Wisda purchased this House in 2005
Why Buzz Wisda chose Poipu
We bought the lot a few years after hurricane Iniki while the cost of lots was still low because it offered us the opportunity to help vacationers experience a really wonderful house in a good location at an affordable rent. This house is just two houses back from the ocean, and the rent is less than half of those houses less than 100 yards away! This is really one of the best values in Poipu. It is a great house in a very good location at a fair and affordable rent.
What makes this House unique
Whitewater ocean view. Lushly landscaped yard. Privacy. Best of all, the open living area promotes family gatherings with places to sit and 'talk story', but with plenty of room for everyone to have adequate space.

Kauai get away
We have been coming to Kauai since 1998, have never been disappointed, and this time was no diffrent
We were a group of 5 friends in Kauai for a wedding. The house was a perfect home base for us for the week! Buzz and Valerie were lovely and so responsive.
The location is convenient to most everything on the island. The house has everything you need for cooking, washing, beachcombing, etc. There is plenty of room and the house was very clean. You can see and hear the ocean which is only a short walk away. Baby beach was like having a private beach for snorkelling and swimming. We really enjoyed this house. There is no AC and it was unusually warm for August. There are many fans throughout and we spent many evenings on the Lanai.
Property is in a great location. Shopping, eating, and beach walk-able.
Fantastic week in Poipu
We just returned from a great week in Kauai. We thoroughly enjoyed this home. As many other reviewers have said, it is well outfitted and well stocked. Location is great. We loved having the beach so close by (suggestion for those of you that want to use Baby Beach - get some aqua socks to protect your feet...there are some sharper coral rocks out there). At night, you could hear the waves crashing. So great to sleep with the windows open with the breeze and the sound of the ocean.
The walkability of this house is not just about the beach. You can walk to the Long's Drugs shopping center in about 5 - 10 minutes. There are a number of great restaurants there (we ate at Tortilla Republic on our last evening - great food). Just west of the house is The Beach House - another very nice restaurant that we visited. We also cooked in a few evenings and having the gas grill was a bonus (easier than coals). I would also recommend a place called Da Crack for some quick mexican food (no seating, it's all just takeout).
We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.
Excellent 3br close to baby beach
Our family had a great time. The home was nice and spacious. It has everything we needed in the kitchen to make a few homemade meals and grill.
Poipu Beach Park, rated #1 beach in America by the travel channel is nearby. Baby Beach and Lawai Beach are within four minutes walk. This is snorkeling, surfing, bodysurfing, and sunbathing heaven. Spouting Horn blowhole is at the end of Lawai Road, as is the National Tropical Botanical Gardens. Restaurants abound in Poipu, ranging from gourmet to hamburger stand. In the evenings, entertainment can be found at Keoki's Paradise and the Hyatt Regency Resort. Most of all, Kauai is home to nature lovers who want to relax and explore the beauty of the island; to see the myriad waterfalls and rainbows; to sail aboard a catamaran to the breathtaking Napali Coast; to watch the whales and dolphins; maybe kayak a river and hike to a secret waterfall; or maybe just read a good book.
