With property that boarders state land, you can relax next to a scenic stream just 50 feet from the property. This modern three bedroom ranch has all the amenities.

The property was amazing and it was a very good stay. It ended too soon. The only issue we had was slow internet and spoty reception.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the 5 star review. The only internet service in the area is from a satellite supplier so it's limited. Residents have been working with Albany to bring cables to the area. Below is part of the email from the board. More Information About Round II MTC Broadband Coverage Hello Lexington, Tuesday night’s Board turnout certainly made for a convincing picture of a town’s desire for Broadband coverage. This description corresponds to the colored map MTC brought to our meeting. The areas in maroon/pink are the eligible blocks that made up the Round II grant award to hook up over 400 Lexington homes (or units) and 260 in Jewett. The blue areas are the CAF (federal Connect America Fund) areas that the state fought to keep despite Verizon’s refusal to use the funds in Round !. The federal funds, about $170 million, advance the state’s intention overall– to make the most of all money available to them –state and federal– to push closer to the New NY Broadband goal of Broadband 4-Everybody by the end of 2018. Those blue areas are targeted for federal funds. They also represent the coverage areas MTC plans to develop into a competitive application for in Round III, when the federal funds come into play. It is approximately 500 more homes that MTC envisions for the blue area. When remaining state and federal funds are combined, the grant fund for Round III applications totals over $300 million remaining for awards. It is evident looking at the map that the Spruceton Valley (West Kill) is in the maroon/pink. MTC has made clear that they are linking the hamlets via Route 42, including “premises on both sides of the street along Rte 42, but not the side roads off Rte 42 to the west,” clarified Project Engineer Steve Finch in an email to me. I asked about back yards that meet Rte 42, even if the properties front on Howard or Chamberlin Roads. Project Engineer Finch answered: “Some of it depends on pole lines, where service drops originate, etc. We will connect them if it makes sense during the construction phase. We don't want to go back in any areas to over-build during a second round. If it seems logical, it probably is and will be part of Round 2.” MTC will use Route 23A to get to Lexington hamlet from Prattsville. Coverage would be similar to Rte 42 coverage, including homes on both sides of the road. Coverage in Lexington hamlet along Route 13A is “probable, since MTC will be right there.”

Thirty-something Guys weekend

Based on previous reviews, my friends and I opted for this property. Just as described and suited us well. Gameroom was fun, firepit was a blast and the grill, hot tub and kitchen were more than adequate. Hunter Mountain is a nice, short drive along with other local spots. Communication with owner was easy and convenient. I will definitely stay here again!

The house is located on a quiet road surrounded by trees and grass there is a lot of room on the property to run play etc. The house itself is everything as advertised and more there's a personal touch to it its clean and well kept we had a great experience!

Great Guys Weekend

Great house for a weekend with the guys. Rick was very helpful throughout the rental process and was always available to answer any questions. The basement game room and the huge wrap around porch were the best amenities. Beautiful area with some fun affordable golfing nearby at Christman's Windham House Golf. Highly recommend this place!

Great ski house rental

Can't beat the price! Place was a short drive from Hunter. Nice pool table, comfortable beds, hottub was a plus after a long day on the slopes! Would stay again.

It was an overall positive experience, but it came with several negatives

It's a nice house, but, during our stay, we experienced a couple of issues: the hot tub took too long to heat up, and it cooled back down after just a half an hour of use, making the hot tub unusable; there were cobwebs in the kitchen; and the garbage canister outside the house was full, and we couldn't put our garbage in it. Fortunately, the owner was very accessible via phone--during New Year's weekend nonetheless--and helpful with resolving the issues, but I found it annoying to have to call the owner several times to report issues with the house.

Additionally, the property owner left an old refrigerator next to the new one in the kitchen that made it difficult to go in and out of the back door where the hot tub was located. The owner told us that the refrigerator would eventually be removed, but I found it unacceptable that, considering how much we paid for the house, we had to deal with such a nuisance.

The owner is very nice, and I'm sure will be dealing with these issues soon. I encourage anyone looking into a place near Hunter Mountain to explore this house and reach out to the owner about these issues, if they are a concern for you. I would also like to note that, in hindsight, we would have preferred to stay closer to the Hunter so that food shopping, restaurants, and Hunter Mountain were a little more accessible.

Owner's Response: I send a survey to every guest for feedback and suggestions. I want every quest to have the best experience possible. And I take every concern seriously. So, I will try to address Dan's comments. First, the hot tub. The hot tub should not need time to heat up. I don't ever turn it down. In fact, on the house instructions that every quest signs, it says "Leave the hot tub at 100%. It takes a long time for the hot tub to heat up, especially in cold weather. If the hot tub is not hot enough, close the air jets and increase the digital control to the desired temperature." In case a guest lowers the temp., I have instructed the cleaning person to turn it back up. Point 2: Anyone that has used a outdoor hot tub knows that, in the middle of winter, uncovered, it will eventually cool down. That is why I have instructions on getting it hot again as quickly as possible. Garbage: This house rents constantly during the ski season and frequently during the rest of the year. Garbage is picked up once a week. When there is an unusually large amount of garbage (New Years week), and the container is full, there are pails for the quests to use. This should not have been an issue. Yes, I did leave two refrigerators in the kitchen. I had arranged for the old fridg. to be removed but couldn't get it out before this quests' stay. If it was in the way, (I don't think it was), it could have been easily moved (it's was on wheels), to make more room by the back door. FYI The old fridg was there because I just added a new stainless steel refrigerator and dishwasher. Dan did say that his overall experience was positive. He did acknowledge that "the owner was very accessible via phone - during New Year weekend nonetheless-and helpful with resolving the issues..." When a quest stays at one of my two Catskill Mountain Vacation houses, I want their stay to be perfect. And I work very hard at trying to make that happen. It's a labor of love. I've spent as much time as possible in the area and have my entire life. I do all the work myself and really enjoy fixing and improving the houses. My repeat clients, and there are many, could attest to the improvements and additions through the years (I'm presently installing bamboo flooring in the bedrooms). I hope you will consider renting my home and become part of the family that has made the Catskill Mountain Retreat your house in the country.
