About Amanda McCauley

My husband Rick and I have 2 kids, Mattox and Sophie. Originally from Chicago, and after living in Los Angeles for a while, we now live in Las Vegas which gives us a lot of opportunities to enjoy this place. We hope that we can offer the same relaxing and enjoyable times to our guests that it offers to us. We wanted to create a place that our guests could enjoy and feel at home.

Amanda McCauley purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Amanda McCauley chose Alton

My husband and I ended up here during a forth of July trip in 2007, we instantly fell in love with the area. We ended up looking at homes for fun and when we saw this one is was like it was meant for us. It had what both of us wanted in a mountain home, year round accessibility, paved streets, fantastic views of the pink cliffs, trees and the neighborhood was conveniently located by the 14 and 89, which gave us great access to many scenic drives. Over the years we have loved and enjoyed this place and even called it home for a few months when we relocated from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in 2013.

What makes this cabin unique

Being close to both the 14 and 89 offers an easy drive to many scenic locations. Both Zion and Bryce are approx 1/2 hour drive away. Lots of wildlife to see and wonderful towns to visit.

excellent property. has just about everything and clean.

only wish there were a few drawers so all our clothes weren't on the floor during our 4 day stay. Would stay there again and highly recommend it.

Fantastic Family Retreat with Great Location Between Bryce, Zion and North RIM Grand Canyon Parks!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time with my family in this beautiful Home residence!! A very well stocked kitchen that allows you to prepare and enjoy any meal you want! Having rented another VRBO property near Sedona we came with our coolers stocked with food so had no need of buy anything locally. EVERYTHING in the house was like we had expected, owner Amanda was very attentive as our arrival date was near, sending us lots of info on the House, the area, and all details pertaining to the property and the surroundings. The 2 rooms downstairs where very nice and the Master Bedroom on the top floor has a great Kingsize bed! I wished we could have stayed for a whole month, there is so much to explore in the parks and the South Utah Area. Great BBQ outside with awesome terrace, we could easily see the Milky Way at night. Overall 5 stars. We cant wait to come back and plan for a longer stay at this beautiful place.

Very nice and spacious property

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 5 had a nice time at the house and found it to be located about halfway between Zion and Bryce. The owner was quickly responsive to our questions via text and the house had lots of room to spread out after our park exploration. There were 3 bedrooms with a master bed upstairs and private from the other bedrooms. Only thing to keep in mind is there is not a lot of "civilization" around other than a convenience store and gas station on the corner. We stopped at Kanab, about 45 minutes away, and stored food In a cooler for transit. Would definitely stay again if ever went back to area.

Best vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this vacation rental. It was a perfect getaway for my husband and I and our three children. It was very comfortable, clean and a great location. We enjoyed waking up to sitting on the deck and watching all of the wildlife. The view was also gorgeous. The bedrooms were all comfortable and clean. We also loved having a complete kitchen in the rental. We brought our own food and cooked all of our meals in the cabin, just like home. Our whole family felt it was one of the best vacations we have ever had. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this to all my friends.

Couldn't Have Been Better

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this absolutely lovely home and it was absolutely great. The photos don’t do it justice. The house is decorated in a stylish country aesthetic that you would expect of a home in the heart of the great outdoors within minutes of Zion, Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks, and Dixie National Parks. The house is huge with 3 levels of living quarters w/ more than enough space for our family of 6 to socialize in the open floor plan with the kitchen, dining, and great room all opening up into the same area, creating a high-energy social hot spot during meals and evening cocktailing – yet also provides plentiful space for private quarters with 2 bedrooms downstairs and 1 upstairs to offer sufficient privacy. The home was equipped with every possible creature comfort. Not only are the basics covered that are often hit or miss in a VRBO with items like a healthy supply of pots & pans, corkscrews, can openers, paper towels, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, and bath soaps/shampoos -- but the house also comes w/ luxuries like a printer/scanner, an iPhone docking station, TVs in every room with DirecTV and DVR, hi-speed internet, lots of children’s toys, and the true hidden gem of the house was the wrap-around large porch spanning 3 sides of the house -- offering great views – and was an awesome place to enjoy meals and read a book -- and most importantly gaze at all the wildlife (including Deer) that literally walk right up to the house!

We searched far and wide before landing on this fantastic home, looking at lots of places throughout Duck Creek, Bryce Canyon, and Zion. But what sold us on this home -- other than the great communication before, during, and even after our stay that we received from the owner, Amanda – was that the community in which the home is located is one of the very few, if not the only one that we know of, that has fully paved roads. It may not seem like much, but that fact alone significantly reduces the number of ATVs within the community, so there is no constant dust flying around or noisy gas-powered engines revving at all hours of the early morning and late night. If you are looking for peace and quiet, a restful night, wildlife, and easy access to virtually all of Utah's best National Parks, this house is the place to be.

Thanks again, Amanda, we will definitely be back and won’t think twice about staying anywhere else!

great outdoors

  • 5 of 5

Terrific vacation home that is centrally located to all the national parks in the area. House comes with all the amenities so you don't have to worry right away about stopping at a store (which are not close) to pick up the essentials to start your vacation. Highly recommend this home as a jumping off point to visit Zion, Bryce, Red canyon, Grand Canyon North Rim, Dixie National Forest, etc. Plenty of things to do in the area if you enjoy outdoor activities.
