Imagine sleeping comfortably in your beautifully decorated, cozy and quiet room with private bath surrounded by beautiful colors and stained glass. Enjoy a full home-made Alaskan healthy breakfasts and gourmet coffee served in one of a kind stained glass dishes made by your host at your own private dining table.
Browse the book of local attractions, maps and menus and discuss options for great local adventures with your host, a professional wildlife biologist, artist, musician and dance instructor. Decide to take a local boat tour of the spectacular Kenai Fjords National Park, go sea kayaking, hike a glacier or forest, go on a sled dog ride, visit Exit Glacier or go fishing for silver salmon or halibut. Or just browse local galleries, shops and museums.
After your host sets up your adventures for you, you can walk to most anything you decide to do. Maybe you choose to hike the famous Mount Marathon, up through a beautiful rain forest and up into a gorgeous alpine bowl, looking for birds, moose, bears or mountain goats? Walk to the trailhead a few blocks away.
Or stroll along the pathway along Resurrection Bay a few blocks away and look for sea lions, otters, whales and birds in route to downtown or the small boat harbor. Enjoy amazing view of oceans, mountains and glaciers. Have a fantastic day filled with the amazing scenery, wildlife and local hospitality and color.
When you return, your host provides great recommendations for local restaurants for dinner. Maybe you want to do a little private shopping and view the one of a kind stained glass art and jewelry made on site. Try on anything you like. Or maybe you feel like exploring your creative side and would like to take a private lesson in American Tribal Style Dance, learn how to play drums or learn to make jewelry?
Take an evening stroll along the waterfront or enjoy one of the colorful establishments for a beer or some music. Watch the cruise ship turn around right in front of the house.
Or relax and enjoy free wireless internet and the library of Alaskan DVD’s, movies and books provided in your room. Enjoy the large HD TV with internet apps, Netflix, Hulu etc. and Dish Network. Kick back; watch a movie with hot chocolate and some popcorn.
Finally, have a restful sleep in your antique bed, covered in fluffy flannel sheets, comforters and satin coverlets and dream about your next adventure.
The room has an antique double bed and is great for a single person or couple. A cot is available for traveling companions. It also contains a small refrigerator and microwave. Laundry service is available. The bath contains a shower and bathtub.
Arctic Paradise B&B has been in business since 2001 and was newly remodeled in 2013. Look forward to meeting you!
Hi, Thanks for visiting my site! I am a professional wildlife biologist, pilot, stained glass and jewelry artist, dancer, and B&B owner in Seward Alaska. I try to capture the beauty and wild spirit of the Alaska wilderness in my art and in my home. I started creating my stained glassware after experimenting with creating a martini glass for a friend for his birthday. My friend Eric, a fisheries biologist, has an annual martini party, and I wanted to make a unique glass he could use for the party. Other friends really liked them and wanted their own, and then their friends wanted them too! It soon developed into another great small business. I started working with jewelry in 2008, and continue my love of working with glass as well as beads, silver, natural stones and other materials. My B&B caters to the adventurous traveler and wildlife enthusiast. I designed my B&B to provide all the elements that have enjoyed in my travels. This includes unique character, beautiful decor, privacy, ease of getting to attractions, good personal advice, maps, books and videos on the area, great food and amenities in the room. As a professional wildlife biologist, I love wildlife and hope to inspire your appreciation of wildlife too. I try to combine my diverse interests and passions together through my B&B. My guests enjoy their breakfast with stained glass bowls, coffee mugs, juice and parfait glasses. I sell stained glass and jewelry on site, and guests receive 10% off stained glass gifts. I help my guests find opportunities to see the amazing wildlife and scenery this area offers. Seward is one of the most beautiful places on earth! I hope you will visit, and I look forward to meeting you. Mary Ann

Fantastic reviews, places to explore, outdoor adventures and creative workshops”
Unbelievable scenery and wildlife viewing , Creative packages available- private lessons in dance, playing drums and jewelry making.
I greatly appreciated being able to stay at Arctic Paradise B&B - great location, very reasonable price, wonderful accommodations, terrific breakfasts, and friendly (but not invasive) host. Mary Ann worked with me to make sure I could find the house easily (I was arriving at 1:00 AM), and had everything set up so I could get into my room easily. I loved all of the attention to detail - like having coffee machine pre-loaded so that all I had to do was punch the "on" button when I was ready for it, and having a plated breakfast waiting in my refrigerator each day, and a place laid at the table in my room (with CLOTH napkins!). In addition, Mary Ann provided a broad cross-section of local information brochures, and included some local videos (fjord overviews, Mt Marathon annual run, ...) that really helped me get my bearings and understand a bit more about Seward. I hope the space is open again when I return to Seward in the future
Since most renters here will be one time I feel obligated to provide an honest review that is not flattering.
We enjoy staying at bed and breakfasts to get that homey feeling away from home. Attic Paradise did not give us that feeling.
First issue was the late 6pm check-in when check out time is an early 10am. Mary Anne let us store our suitcases in her crowded shed when we arrived in Seward that morning. Second issue was the grass length. We had to pull our 80 lbs bags through 8+ inches of grass.
We checked in at 6pm and met Mary Anne. She led us straight to our tiny room and her tour consisted only of that room and the bathroom next door. In this small room was a pretty large table set with lots of dishes. This table made it awkward to get in the closet and the dresser.
Next issue is the bed, which she advertises correctly as an antique double. This bed was very small and creeky. Could not move at all without the bed making lots of noise!
Bathroom was also small but fine. All the linens were nice and clean.
The third issue is that we did not feel welcome in the rest of the house and the only clean spaces were our bedroom and bathroom.
The den is the only area with a view.
Another thing is that she did not offer a laundry service that she advertses and we needed that since she was our mid trip stay. The closet laundry mat is over 3 hilly blocks away, which is far without a car and carrying a bunch of clothes.
Home was indeed decorated nicely and dishes were pretty. This is not a reason to stay here.
We wish we had chosen a hotel. It would have costed the same, offered a shuttle and bag transfer and would have been more spacious. We were glad to get to our cabin on the cruise ship and spread out.
Overall this bnb is expensive for what is offered.
My husband and I stayed with Mary Ann for two nights and were very happy with our experience. The first floor room was comfortable, had a private bath right next door and included a table area for eating. Mary Ann prepared wonderful healthy breakfasts and placed them in the small fridge in the room so each morning you could enjoy coffee and your meal in private. I would definitely recommend her B & B to family and friends!
