We’ve stayed at this property before and we love the amenities! This unit is amazing!!! Owner was quick to get minor maintenance problem solved in no time. Fully stocked with everything one needs in the kitchen and super comfy! The whole family enjoyed the stay! Everyone had their own space and it was all perfect! Can’t wait to go back!

Great Property and Suite!
The Portofino is great with so many amenities. The suite was spacious and had a beautiful view of the bay. It also overlooked the main pool, and you can sit on the balcony and listen to the bands playing at the pool. Would definitely come again!
This condo has amazing views of the bay and the gulf! The condo itself had plenty of room and the beds were comfortable. Kathy was easily reachable by phone prior to arrival and while at the property. I would definitely recommend this condo for any family!!!!! We will return!

Unfortunately I can’t write a review on this exact unit because we were not able to stay in the unit due to AC problems. My son and daughter in law along with my 2 grandchildren arrived early and separate from myself and the rest of the group. Upon check-in, they realized the unit was extremely warm. They checked the thermostat and it was 81 degrees.. my son immediately called Kathy. She promptly arrived at the condo and agreed the unit was unusually hot and was not usable due to AC issues... She then called her friend who had a unit that was not occupied. The friend graciously agreed to allow us to rent her unit at the same price I paid Kathy....the unit was a penthouse unit...after my son unloaded all their belongs, they realized the 3rd BR was not actually a room but a “corner nook” that contained a couch with an air mattress.... I called Kathy and voiced my concern about having to sleep on an air mattress.... Kathy stated we could either stay there or find other accommodations(Portofino had NO availability on Friday night)... what Kathy failed to understand, was that sleeping in a penthouse unit meant nothing to me...If I wanted a penthouse, I could have paid to rent a penthouse. I paid for Kathy’s condo because I needed the specific bedroom accommodations...my complaint was that I had to sleep on an air mattress and live out of my suitcase for 5 days as there was no place to put my clothing. Kathy did offer to allow us to stay in the “penthouse” for one night and refund the remainder of our nights. She must not realize what it is like traveling with a toddler and an infant. I refused to have my family of 8 pack up all our belongs again and move in another condo. That would be a nightmare to say the least and it would interrupt our vacation and lose a day packing and unpacking....Kathy kept “throwing” the word PENTHOUSE out there.... I could care less that we stayed in a penthouse....
THE FACT IS....
I paid for a 3 BEDROOM and we were given the option of a 2 BEDROOM with a NOOK that had a full size air mattress or find other accommodations.... also, Kathy came in our room while we were packing to vacate the unit and said check out was 10:00, when VRBO clearly has checkout at 11:00.... I sure hope the next renters get to enjoy a room with a bed and not an air mattress and cold AC... I would definitely stay at Portofino Island Resort, but would never rent from this person again....
When anything unfortunate occurs for my guests at arrival or during their stay I do all that is possible to help the guest as quickly as possible. The only reason that this guest changed units was because an air compressor went out and no one could stay at that time in this unit . All of my 10 rentals were booked for their time frame except for a much more expensive unit in tower 5 which at Portofino is called a Penthouse because they sit on the top floors of all the different towers and they are upgrade and more expensive to own and rent. My friend was very kind to allow this guest to use this condo at the same rate as the beautiful 3 bedroom she rented with AC issues . The room she called a nook is actually the same size as the 3rd bedroom in the one she rented but she has an expensive high quality Flexsteel couch that uses a $400 high quality air mattress that inserts in the couch and according to the owner is much more comfortable than any sofa sleeper. I obviously was limited in what I could offer this guest as options for their stay and I received very angry calls about the air mattress which I could not change, so I offered to allow her to find other accomodations and I would refund back the unused rent which made her angry but her decision in the end was to stay in the penthouse .Of course the 3 bedroom now has a new A/C unit and is renting well. As far as me coming in to the unit I will say that every guest receives an email going over check in instructions and in that email I give them a check out time of 10am This goes to all of my guests When I arrived to the unit about 1030 to check the unit I noticed that the guest had left the entry door open and when I entered no one was in the unit. I sat some linens for my cleaning staff on the front bench , and left to go to the parking spaces for that unit to see if their cars were gone and they had not left. By the time I went back up to the unit the guests were back and they told me they thought they had an 11 am check out and I graciously told them that would be OK given it was only 30 more minutes and it was not a day we had an arriving guest. In a nutshell I feel like despite my efforts, this guest was deciding to not be happy no matter what I did to help in this situation. What is important is to know I try my best to quickly solve any issues that happen sometimes over night like an AC unit going out. I take care of my guests!
