The Cabin in the Woods is a private oasis set on a large forested creekside acreage with private walking trails and abundant wildlife. Custom-built by the owners, this beautifully furnished log cabin features a view of nature from every room. This property with the log cabin set among the trees has a "Jasper like" feel - within an hour and a half to Edmonton.
Located approximately 20 minutes west of the lovely Pigeon Lake Village, this property is close enough to enjoy shopping, restaurants, spa, golf course, and community amenities while far enough away for peace and relaxation.
The modern kitchen is fully stocked with all the amenities needed to make complete meals, and include pantry staples to get you started - things like tea, coffee, condiments, spices, and more.
Fill your days with relaxation, from sitting on the deck enjoying a morning coffee, reading, board games, walking, drawing, yoga, to enjoying the hot tub while viewing the stars in the dark sky.
The loft has an expansive view of the creek and forest and includes one queen bed and one twin bed. Two bedrooms on the main level, each with a double bed have views of the forest. Comfortably sleeps up to maximum of 6 people. There is one large bathroom with a bath/shower combination. For those desiring a rustic experience, we have a log outhouse!
You will find an indoor wood burning fireplace with a supply of firewood at your doorstep, an outdoor fire pit and small BBQ.
The rates shown on VRBO appear in U.S. dollars. The rate is $379.00 Canadian per night plus cleaning fee for up to 4 people.
This is a non-smoking property. NO parties, including bachelor or bachelorette parties, or events are permitted. No camping.
Other activities that can be found in the area include fishing at Buck Lake, swimming at Twin Lakes, and local farmers markets in the summer. There are golf courses in the area and the Reynolds Museum in Wetaskiwin.
This natural park-like setting is a terrific base for exploring Edmonton, central Alberta and the surrounding area, including Rocky Mountain House - gateway to Canada's National Parks.
The cabin is about an hour from the Edmonton airport, and a little over 2 hours from the Calgary airport. For a scenic tour including the Rocky Mountains start in Calgary, head up the Cowboy Trail (highway 22), spend a few nights at our cabin, continue on to Jasper, then head south on the Ice Field Parkway to Lake Louise, Banff, and Canmore, returning to Calgary. This route also works well starting in Edmonton.
We look forward to sharing our piece of paradise and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!

Feels remote without being too far!
Had a wonderful stay over the new year holiday. There was a touch of care that was noticed throughout the entire cabin. From the pre cut firewood to the complimentary bottle of wine, you can tell the owners want your stay to be comfortable.
We had a power outage in the area and the owners were quick to respond with notifying the utility company and assisting and any way they could.
We would definitely stay here again and would recommend if your looking for a quiet cabin in the woods that is not far away at all from major cities.
Being a cabin means flies are inevitable. A couple were found under the beds and behind furniture, but overall, the place was very clean on arrival.
Quiet and peaceful weekend getaway
My friends and I really enjoyed our time at this cabin. It is nice and close to Edmonton, has beautiful scenery and the owners are very friendly and helpful.
The only thing we found was a large amount of dead flies dropping by the windows. I know there is usually this issue with log cabins and weather changes, but at one point we were gone for not even 2 hrs and when we returned there were probably over 100 dead flies on the floor. It seemed to get better as the day went on and was at the worst for the flies when it was very sunny in mid afternoon.
A beautiful place!!
A lovely, well-stocked, comfortable cabin. We had a great time!
