Unique, relaxing experience

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the Caboose. Well equipped for cooking; 2 refrigerators so we could use one for beverages and the other for the food so all stayed cool. Be aware the twin bed is right off the kitchen with no doorway between, but this wasn't an issue for us. Spent most of our time on the dock and the front porch but the interior of the caboose is very comfortable. We hope to come back.

Quiet stay on the lake

  • 4 of 5

The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that there is only one bathroom and we are a family (2 adults, 1 teenager) - need I say more. Also, there is not a kayak paddle (if we wanted to use the kayak, we would have to use an oar from the canoe)

Other than that, this place was perfect.

We rented a boat for the day, and spent 9 hours on the lake tubing, fishing, and sight-seeing. We spent a day at Dreher Park - best $4 spent. While my husband fished, I walked the tails. This was a perfect place to unwind.

So peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here. It was so peaceful. The lake is beautiful. We had a turtle family we saw on a tree stump in the water every day. You are about 5 min from a convenience store and 15 min from a grocery store. It was great. We are considering making this an annual trip.

RIde the rail!

My husband and I spent New Years Eve - January 3rd in the Caboose, I can say it was truly wonderful. The photos are exactly as you will see it. Having the dock straight off the deck is great! The TV station selection is less than par, but hey you are on vacation & usually don't spend much time watching TV, and no internet, again leave that behind you are on vacation,. There is no bathtub, I like taking a bath at night and shower in the morning, I had to adjust. Families with smaller children need to know of no bathtub. But again not a show stopper.

Owner's Response: We at Lake Murray Vacation Rentals thank you so much for your kind words regarding The Caboose. The staff is so delighted that you and your husband enjoyed your stay. Yes, though TV and Internet are not the best there, as you said, the intention is to have some down time, unplug and enjoy the relaxing surroundings. We hope that you and your husband will visit with us again soon. Happy New Year.

My wife & I enjoyed our stay in the Caboose. Waking up & seeing the lake every morning was wonderful. We canoed around the adjacent coves. My wife was able to check something off her Bucket List when we sailed the Sunset Cruise. Thank you for such a fantastic home.

Owner's Response: We at Lake Murray Vacation Rentals are so delighted that we were able to help in checking another item off your wife's bucket list. The sunsets and, for that matter, the sunrises are breathtaking every day so I'm sure the sunset cruise was great. Thank you for your glowing review and we hope to see you again very soon.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Great location on Lake Murray. We had plenty of room for our boat trailer and we liked being able to dock our boat. We put our boat in at a friends house, but wished there was a boat ramp at the house.Nice & clean dock. The inside was clean. Liked the view of the lake from bedroom & living room area. Enjoyed the use of the kayaks. It's a charming little place.
