we used whitehorse as our "base camp" for hikes and activites in the area and this accomodation was perfect for us. separate bedrooms with very comfortable beds. very clean. huge kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes and cooking ware. also having all the condiments, spices, cooking oil, etc. there rather than having to buy all those extras really made it so much more easy to cook our meals that we hardly ate out which meant we ate more healthy and saved quite a bit of money. when we arrived they had fresh french bread, butter, and home made raspberry jam waiting for us. as well there was a really nice salmon to cook which we had for a couple of supper meals and sandwiches for our hikes. having a washer and dryer in the suite with laundry detergent supplied was also a big bonus. then to be able to help ourselves to their saskatoons, raspberries, and haskaps in the their backyard was a real treat which we fully enjoyed. the suite was quite large and spacious and completely private so it really felt like coming home at the end of our day. so much better than facing a standard hotel room which we would have found pretty cramped to do all we did. it was also away from the "maddening crowd" of downtown but easy to get to which we preferred. when i searched hotel accommodations in whitehorse there wasn't anything that was recommended (even name brands). this suite couldn't have been better. the owners respected our privacy but were also more than ready and willing to provide anything else we might have needed. candies by the couch was a "sweet" touch. if i was going to the whitehorse area again i would definitely want to stay here. it really helped make our holiday perfect. thanks.
The Owners are very experienced, exceptionally knowledgable about the Yukon, its geography, rivers, lakes, wildlife, bird life, northern lights. My girlfriend and I went on a guided photography tour. The owners are very professional and considerate in accommodating us. We were given complimentary Yukon fresh fish, berries and Saskatoon berry pie, it was delicious. We are planning on coming back in August for the complimentary salmon and berries. We were driven in a new big Dodge Ram 4x4, very exciting comfortable tour. We even had an outdoor BBQ in the snow. 5. Optional: Long term stays has an additional $45.00 a week, plus cleaning fees to replenish the paper towels, toiletries, dish washer soaps, cleaning and suite supplies.
