Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cabin in Lower Moonridge - Ben Big Bear Lake Cabin

2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom with all of the comforts of home

Our cabin is located one minute by car to Bear Mountain Ski Resort (free shuttle across the street by the Deli) Bear Mountain Golf Course, The Moonridge Zoo, and the National Forest. Our cabin is only a few minutes drive from beautiful Big Bear Lake, the grocery stores, and the popular village shops & restaurants. Moonridge is the most sought after winter location in Big Bear.

Since this is our second home, we keep it well maintained we've outfitted it with all of the comforts of home, including blow dryers, games and internet--and all the conveniences of our primary home, of course kitchen appliances and dishes etc. The exterior has a spacious enclosed wrap around deck from front yard to backyard with a BBQ making it perfect for outdoor entertaining including plenty of room to build a snow man. There is convenient level parking for 3 cars or boat/RV/Trailer making it easier for parking in the winter. There is an empty lot next door which is ideal for your children to play safely (running laps, riding bikes in the dirt paths or using the rope tree swing.) and of course if you don't feel like cooking or driving anywhere, walk across the street to the delicious Deli that you can see from our front deck.

There is sofa sleeper in living room and extra beds/blankets available.

Whether you are taking in the starry sky, feeding the blue jays, breathing in the fresh air of the pine trees, sipping hot chocolate by the fireplace or enjoying a glass of wine after a day of skiing/sledding in the Winter, or hiking, boating, fishing in the Summertime, our cabin is the perfect retreat for families with kids, couples or those seeking a romantic getaway. We'd love to have you as our guests!

Why Vasuki Benhur chose Big Bear Lake

Our charming two bedroom, two bath family cabin is nestled in Big Bear Lake, California in prestigious, peaceful Moonridge Community. Big Bear Lake is a four season resort, surrounded by the National Forest. It is the perfect mountain getaway for your family - any time of the year. Great cabin for families and pets!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin is great for families especially those with small pets. The master bedroom has a new temperpedic mattress which was great! The location is perfect as the cabin is about 5 min away from both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain as well as grocery stores and restaurants. The ROKU TV service is a little difficult to figure out if you've never used it before plus it has no local TV channels which would be nice to have but overall, our stay was great and would definitely stay here again!

Cozy small family cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for our family of 4. We found that everything we needed to be at the cabin. The cabin was right in between Summit mountain and Bear mountain so it was a perfect short distance from us to go snowboarding and skiing. It was a very clean and well maintained cabin and the owner was helpful (they provide a binder full of instructions on the home and local activities and restaurants nearby). We would stay at this cabin again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin!

  • 5 of 5

First of all, the owner is very easy for communication. Whenever we have a question, it is easy to reach the owner whether thru phone or email. The property is clean and well maintained. My wife did not smell any strange odor (she is sensitive to smoking or other odor). And we are all satisfied with the equipment (2 bathrooms for 2 bedrooms and washer and dryers) and supplies provided in the cabin (eg: for grill, cooking, etc.). They have a good collections of movies and board games although we bring our own for language purposes. The cabin is located at a very convenient but quiet place to the Snow Summit for skiing. And nearby has a Walgreens also a el pollo loco, very convenient. Parking is also good, it is easy to park 3 cars in front of the house at the same level. One thing we notice is that the owner does accommodate the number of beds according to the number of guests when you book the cabin. It doesn't affect our trip because we actually had less people than we requested. But if your party changes or more people come even if it's still less than maximum guest number, you need to plan ahead of time. Overall, we would like to go back to this cabin again at a different time of the year. And we would also recommend this place to our friends.

Winter family vacation

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed the Ben Big Bear Lake cabin. The location was convenient to local stores and restaurants. The cabin was cozy, clean and offered everything we needed. The cabin was well maintained. The owner provided great customer service. We would definitely recommend this cabin to our family and friends. Lifetime memories were created at the cabin and at Big Bear. We hope to go back again in the future.

Cabin needs some improvement

  • 2 of 5

First, I'd like to say Vasuki was a pleasure to work with. He was very quick to respond to all of my questions, concerns and returned my deposit within a few days. He gave us a great deal and I hope to deal with him again, but at a different cabin. We have stayed at Big Bear many times before and Vasuki was nice and professional.

Another positive is this cabin is close to the village, several sandwich/coffee shops, the lake, golf course and zoo. It's in a very nice neighborhood and is in a convenient location. Also, you only have neighbors on one side, so you get a lot of privacy.

As for the cons, we stayed at this cabin last year. So, we were familiar with this cabin. However, this time, there wasn't a home phone and there isn't any cell service at this cabin, so that creates a little bit of anxiety if you were to have an emergency. I think there should be a LAN line phone, just in case you need to call 911. The description says new carpet, but it's the same carpet from last year. The carpet smelled like wet dog. I know that's the risk you take when staying at a pet friendly cabin, but this was really bad. It wasn't bad last year. Also, the beds were hard and uncomfortable. Fortunately, we took a thick memory foam mattress topper, which helped a lot. Lastly, the original description of the cabin said satellite tv. It's Roku only. I noticed the description has now changed to accurately reflect this, but Roku was not for us.

Owner's Response: Joe, Thanks for staying in our cabin and appreciate your feedback and we take every review serious and make improvements to make our cabin an enjoyable place during our guests time away from home. We purchased this cabin in March 2014 and started renting from June. The Bed was the same what it came with the cabin when we purchased. Also we had 3 guests before your stay. We do checkout walk through after every guest leave and we have a cleaning crew to take care of carpet cleaning and cleaning the entire cabin before the next guest check in and have not noticed pet smell from the carpet. We do notice that the mattress is little firm and may not be soft, however as I said this is the same mattress which was in the cabin when you stayed here last year. We have not mentioned anywhere that the cabin had cable TV or landline phone. We do stay in the cabin more often and we were able to use our cell phone. However it’s our goal to add additional amenities as we have more reservations in the upcoming months as this is our first time owning a vacation rental and we do understand that it needs these changes/upgrades and that is one of the reason we priced our daily rates much lower compared to other cabins of this size. I want to ask you what is that I can do so that you will come back again to our cabin. We will be replacing the mattress and the flooring in the ground floor before this winter. Thanks, Benhur Replaced the master bedroom mattress on 9/6/2014.

Very nice cabin, clean, great location!

  • 5 of 5

My fiance and I stayed here for a few nights and I really enjoyed our time there. The house is very clean and well-maintained. Both bathrooms are very clean, and the downstairs one is big and has a washer-dryer. The place felt very comfortable, and is located on a quiet street but is centrally located. Close to Von's and Stater Brothers, and a few minutes' drive to the village. I recommend it wholeheartedly!
