Great beach house, and great experience

We really enjoyed our stay, and liked the beach house a lot. It is very clean and nicely decorated(very beachy). The owner was very easy to work with and accessible to us through our stay. I would recommend this location to a friend, and if available i would stay here again. We are pretty local to this area and just wanted a beach house for visiting family, but this location is ideal for a long distance vacation, as it really has everything you could need for a beach trip, especially with the tools and extra beach stuff in the workshop. A couple nit picks is that the living room furniture is a little worn, and not super comfortable(Mainly the pull out coach, some of the outlets did not work, and there is a ton of switches.

Workshop - had tools if needed for bikes etc, as well as boogie boards or umbrellas.

Elevator - It works, you just have to understand the call system, and is super convenient for getting luggage up and down.

Location - While it is not beach front, it is one street from the beach, and you can still hear the ocean and see it, but you will not see the beach. It is about a 5 minute walk to the beach via boardwalk or the car access. We opted for the car access since the sand is so packed down and made it easier for bikes/wagons etc.

Size - The property appears pretty small from the pictures, but that is deceiving, as it was very spacious. The dining room table is very large and can seat a lot of people.

Clean! - The inside of the unit was very clean, and nicely decorated. Even with being unoccupied for a bit their was very few signs of bugs internally. Carpet is clean and appears new, but wasn't stretched well.

View/Porch - Great view of the ocean, and really large front porch that allows you to enjoy the beach.

Tons of bedding/towels - The place in general is extremely well stocked.

Cleaners/Property management company - The house had not been occupied for a few weeks, and no one took out the trash. It was pretty rancid and had been thrown around by animals, had ants in it etc. The cleaning crew just needs to take our the trash or instruct renters to take out the trash before leaving, not just on trash day. The house had the gas shut off, as well so the kids had a few cold showers before someone said anything. The back of the house, is near natural habitat, so we had to knock down spider webs a couple times.

Organization - The house rules could be printed out or stored somewhere a little more prominent

Great place to stay while exploring St. Augustine

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five had a lovely spring break. The house is beautifully decorated and filled with light. The beds are comfortable, there is plenty of closet space and storage. This is one of those houses where all you need to pack is your toothbrush and a change of clothes. There is big wagon that pulls easily to schlep all your stuff to the beach. There are even tools in the garage, they came in handy when we had to put a new wheel on our bike.

Even though the house is a block back from the beach, the house is on a hill and the view is unobstructed from the deck. I had to get used to people driving on the beach, but it was well regulated and people respected the rules. I felt safe. We rode our bikes almost every morning on the beach.

As beautiful as the house was, the real star of the show was St. Augustine. We bought trolly tickets good for 3 days, and we used them extensively.

We all had a great time.

A comfy home away from home.

The picture just gives an idea of this property. It was so warm and comfortable we felt at home very quickly. We were a family of five one being our dear mother of 91 years of age. The elevator was quite a unique and helpful especially for our mom. We immediately settled in and were impressed with the decor and the well stocked kitchen/dishes etc. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoy cooking and this home was prepared well for doing just so. The owner Skip was very helpful and kind to us and was attentive to any questions we had. It was very quite and relaxing and we enjoyed the deck. The view and sound of the ocean was wonderful. A short walk or bike ride to the beach was superb. The beach is wide and firm for running, walking and bike riding, which we enjoyed every day. This was one of the few places we would love to come back to visit.

Beautiful Spot

  • 5 of 5

This lovely beach home was newly remodeled and immaculate. Facing east with unobstructed views of the ocean, early risers were greeted by spectacular sunrises and flocks of pelicans returning to the ocean at dawn. A steady northeasterly brought cooling breezes and perfect surfing waves and low tide proved plenty of hard sand for biking to St Augustine fun spots without the hassle of parking! A few miles south there is easy paddling on the ICW surrounded by porpoises, manatee and endless miles of hidden treasure inlets. For us this was a perfect location!

We were a family of 3 couples (parents and grown children aged 23-55) and found the layout of the home provided privacy and comfortable gathering places all with beautiful beach views. The home was abundantly stocked with towels, kitchen supplies and beach toys. The owner was very quick to respond and it is easy to see why this gem is so well loved by the family. We felt fortunate to be here and would not hesitate to go back!
