About the property

Waterfront. Panoramic mountain and lake views, 3BR, 2 Bathroom Log Chalet.

This house has Whistler's best views and is perfect for a family or group of 6. We recently renovated our dream log house on the lake. Our vision was to fuse old with new making it a unique blend of modern comforts while maintaining the charm, character and warmth of the logs. Our 3 bedroom 2 bathroom waterfront Alta Lake location has to been seen to be appreciated. We are on a quiet road just minutes to Whistler creek or Whistler village lifts. Our house contains all the amenities needed for year-round vacation fun at Whistler. You can cross country ski, snowshoe and skate outside our door. The house has 3 bedrooms with Queen beds. The kitchen has all new appliances, including a dishwasher, corian stone counter tops with a huge island for eating and entertaining. We have a huge deck with BBQ and outdoor eating area. The living area has a fabulous soap stone fireplace that heats wonderfully and creates great ambiance. We have a 50 inch HD TV in our living area with great leather sectional couches for a cozy place to relax at the end of the day. Wifi access, use of washer and dryer provided. Great wood and log décor throughout this cabin creates a warm, Whistler atmosphere. The house has ample parking right out front and steps down to the lake at the back.

Paradise Found

Just spent a week at this property with our family of 4. Our kids are 7 and 11. It was a great experience for everyone. The home is great and has everything anyone booking a Whistler vacation could possibly want. As a fellow VRBO landlord I can say these guys do a great job sharing their home and introducing visitors to the Lake Life in Whistler. the owners are on site and super quick to respond to any questions that you might have. They are great people that visited Whistler, fell in love with Whistler and never left (can't blame them). It is close to Whistler (5-10 minute drive) but far enough removed that when you return to the home you are removed from all the activity so you can just relax overlooking the lake and the mountains. The lake is great for swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing and super safe seeing no major boating is allowed on the lake. We really appreciated our stay and look forward to returning. Thank you guys for sharing your home with us.

Love it by the lake overlooking the ski mountain.

  • 5 of 5

I loved staying here. The view of the mountain over the lake is mesmerising. Every morning when I wake there, I can see what the day will bring. I can actually see my favourite basin on Whistler and the long groomers running down Blackcomb. The house is modern rustic in style. The central fire place is perfect and creates the ambience at night. The rooms are comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed. Personally I love the fact that on the right day you can skate on the lake - I learnt there this trip with the skates provided complimentary by the owner. You do need a car to stay here but the travel to go into town is easy and in my opinion it is worth it considering the location you arrive at. The hosts are great. I will be back!

A Piece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

First, this property is absolutely amazing! The owners have done an exceptional job with updating this property with modern luxuries, while maintaining its log cabin structural charm -- And you can't beat the view!

5 of us traveled to Whistler in February. We had an unfortunate situation arise with the other property we were planning on booking and it left us in a serious pickle with President's Day weekend, Valentines Day, and a Canadian holiday all colliding.

The owners were incredibly responsive, empathetic to our situation, and so warm and inviting. When we arrived at the home we were SHOCKED with how truly magical the place turned out to be. This was genuinely one of those moments when you are beyond thrilled that you had to find a plan B because it ended up being WAY better than plan A ever thought have been.

This place, and its owners, were a HUGE piece in making it a trip to remember forever. We all continue to talk about how we will make this a location that we return to for years to come.

Perfect place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

6 of us stayed here for a week in June, and loved every minute of it! It was the perfect blend of a log cabin and modern luxury amenities and decor. We woke up to natural light filtering in the windows, got to enjoy relaxing showers in the stunning bathrooms, cooked in a fully equipped and beautiful kitchen, spent our afternoons on the dock, and at night we made fires in the fireplace and watched Netflix on the couch. The private dock was really the cherry on top, and when it was too cold outside, we cuddled up in the cabana-- which was the perfect way to be warm while still on the water. The homeowners were super nice and awesome, they gave us the space, while still being accessible if we needed them. The location is really ideal-- 10ish mins from Whistler Village, which made us feel like we could escape the tourist bustle, while still being close enough to restaurants and shopping. Plus, there were plenty of nearby hiking trails and parks in the neighborhood. We brought our two small dogs, and even they enjoyed it. The photos don't do it justice, this house has amazing views of the lake and the mountain... And we didn't want to leave! We can't wait to go back!

Incredible views, amazing accomodation

  • 5 of 5

This was an amazing home for us this summer and I don't think we could have found better. Drenched in natural light with stunning views across the Whistlers mountain range and Alta Lake this stunning three bedroom home offered expansive accommodation, easy access to the lake and dock with the valley trail and rainbow park just minutes away. It was a great location to chill, away from vibrancy of Whistlers night life, yet only a short car journey, or bike into town. The owners Bianca and Bart were very helpful and on hand if we needed them and we would certainly recommend them and this accommodation. We hope to be back at the house again soon!

Loved it

  • 5 of 5

Our jaw dropped when we entered this quintessential whistler log home fusion with a modern makeover on the lakefront of gorgeous Alta Lake, Whistler. The house had everything we needed, great kitchen and gorgeous bathrooms, we loved the claw foot tub (they are so comfortable) and comfy beds. The views were breathtaking and the sunny aspect made for great bbq's on the huge deck out front. We love Whistler and visit from our home in Australia regularly, mostly in winter for the skiing but we stayed in this house in summer 2014. Alta lake is one of those pristine Canadian lakes where the fish jump and time stands still. It is amazing for swimming as it gets warmer than most lakes. We felt like we were miles away from anywhere, yet we were a short drive or bike ride from Whistler central with all it's glamourous restaurants, bars shops etc. There was a swimming and gym complex 5 minutes away also and the kids loved that. We loved rainbow park which was a short walk from the house and the hiking trails we could access walking from the house also. We heard stories of skating on this lake in December and seeing the bottom as you skating along looking up to Whistler/Blackcomb Alpine area. I can't wait to come back in January and stay in this wonderful house and try the sauna down on the dock. The owners were amazing to deal with and showed us how to drive the italian espresso machine! It easily accommodated our group of 6 people.

About The Owner

We have lived in Whistler for over 20 years and both work locally. We love the year round lifestyle offered here and look forward to sharing this wonderful place with you and your family.

The Owner purchased this chalet in 2011

Why The Owner chose Whistler

We searched for a while for a house on this street with the views and quietness that we wanted. We bought this wonderful log cabin and renovated it completely, rebuilding the upstairs, adding a garage and paving out front. We landscaped the garden down to the lake with a great lawn and easy steps to our private dock. We love the water and mountains together so this was perfect.

What makes this chalet unique

We loved the logs and the idea of creating a uniquely Canadian mountain home. Something about the logs makes you relax and breathe!!. The lake is our biggest love though. All year round the views never get tiring as they change frequently. In the afternoon you see the awesome alpen-glow over whistler and Blackcomb mountains across the lake, morning sun streams into the huge windows and the place is simply enchanting all the time. Easy access via car to Whistler village and Whistler creek makes it perfect for a quiet getaway while being able to enjoy the resort. Our place is perfect for families or singles/couples alike.

Waterfront location with Whistler's best views.

Located in a quiet, residential area just minutes from the lifts, our home is ground level with ample parking right outside. We have a dock on the lake for summer activities (and putting your skates on!) Winter activities include alpine skiing/snowboarding on Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, nordic skiing on valley trails, Lost Lake trails and the Olympic site at Callaghan Valley, snowshoeing, skating at the Olympic Plaza (and sometimes on Alta Lake!) or spend a day at Meadow Park sports center, just 5 minutes drive away.

Although we list a 28 day minimum and prefer longer bookings, email if you want shorter times and on a case by case basis if we have the room we can accomodate. We do not rent to persons under the age of 25.

Note we are not on the bus route so a car is recommended.
