About Jennifer MacDonald-Martin & Tony Martin
We (Tony & Jennifer) are Islanders who live and work in Charlottetown and feel very fortunate to own this slice of PEI heaven. We have 3 sons. I (Jennifer) have strong ties to Greenwich. My Mom and her siblings were born in Greenwich & I have had relatives in this area for 6 generations. I spent a lot of time in this area over the years. Family still live in the century farm home next door. This is a favorite part of PEI for us and we enjoy it year round. While we call this a cottage it is actually a year round property as it is a fully insulated small home on a foundation. Opportunity knocked in 2012 - Tony & Jennifer were thrilled to be able to buy a piece of family land and have a cottage/house with the view they always wanted - beautiful water view & picturesque countryside!! They have done extensive renovations since purchasing the property in the fall of 2012 & have transformed it into a licensed Tourism PEI & 4 Star Canada Select Property. They hope you enjoy the home & this area as much as they do!
Jennifer MacDonald-Martin & Tony Martin purchased this Cottage in 2012
Why Jennifer MacDonald-Martin & Tony Martin chose
We always wanted a cottage or small home with a water-view that also included beautiful Island scenery and not just an ocean view. We were thrilled to be able to buy a piece of family land and this home with the view we always wanted - beautiful water view of the Bay & picturesque countryside!! Having the opportunity to have a property with such strong family connections was the icing on the cake! This house was originally owned by a family member and then sold to an Ontario resident. When we had the chance to buy the house that was on land that went back 5 generations in Jennifer's family we jumped at that opportunity. They always loved this area and it has the view they always wanted - stunning water view with beautiful countryside. Having a beautiful beach & trails just 4 minutes away & everything you need within 5-10 mins make it even better. What's not to love?! Come and visit. You will surely agree it is lovely here!!

We were delighted with Moonlight Bay cottage.
The cottage location was perfect for us with views of St. Peter's Bay & just minutes from Greenwich Dunes trails, Greenwich beach & the Confederation trail. The cottage was very clean, cozy yet roomy & well stocked & equipped for our stay. We were pleasantly surprised to find a chilled bottle of wine on arrival. Another perk was the Park pass that our hosts allowed us to borrow for the week.
Wonderful cottage, wonderful location
Great cottage, clean and with everything you need. The location is great, close to nice walks, beaches, bike trails. No issues with Lin's diner being so close - in fact, it's such a convenience. Cottage is clean with all the amenities you could want.
Great view, close to Greenwich park
We have stayed in this cottage for 3 days during our visit to PEI.
The house had everything and more you could wish for. Owner is very friendly and helpful, kept in contact via mail to ensure everything was ok. Great view over the water, nice garden with the hummingbirds getting to your window for a bit of food.
It is very close to the Greenwich national park (4 minute ride) that has a few beautiful trails and a stunning beach.
We celebrated our anniversary at the Moonlight Bay cottage. On arrival, we were greeted by Jennifer with a fresh bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine for the occasion! This cozy cottage has so much charm and character that you cannot appreciate from the pictures - the tasteful decorating and high end amenities that are not always found in rental units. And, as others have mentioned, it is immaculately clean and stocked with all necessities and many extras.
We visited at the end of the season- thus the area was very quiet and relaxing. We had the beautiful PEI park almost to ourselves. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and a full moon. :) We also had the experience of a severe "NorEaster" storm that we will never forget! Jennifer and Tony were extremely accommodating and took very good care of us! And because we were there for the potato harvest, the "potato fairy" (a/k/a Tony) left us a bag of potatoes!
We explored the entire island (which is much bigger than I expected) and we agreed that the St Peters Bay area is the best location! It is away from the crowded towns and tourist areas, but still close enough to the conveniences for provisions and biking and hiking.
Of course we would highly recommend the Moonlight cottage to friends and relatives. And if you stay, please give our best to Jen and Tony!
CJ and Rob
Dear Rob and CJ,
Thank you very much for your wonderful review and very kind comments! We really appreciate you taking the time to do the review and for mentioning so many details. The positive info & details about the cottage, its location and the Island helps future guests.
You did get to experience a lot of our Island on your visit! I hope your stay at our cottage made your trip to PEI & your anniversary memorable.
Thanks for recommending us to others! That is very important. We hope you will return again sometime. You were fun to chat to and you were absolutely the perfect guests!!
All the best until next time.
We really enjoyed our stay at this Greenwich property. We likened the surrounding potato fields to be the PEI equivalent of being in France and surrounded by vineyards! The view to the water was lovely. At first we were unsure about being so close to 'Lin's Takeout' because we learned its a busy spot with lots of locals coming up the lane for food. However, it was surprisingly quiet and actually quite handy to send the kids over to pick up some ice cream or yummy chips. The cottage's close proximity to the stunning PEI park with its boardwalk trails and sand dunes, along with the perfect Greenwich beach were bonuses for this location. We happened to be around for the last day of the Blueberry festival, so we were able to sit with the locals and enjoy a late night fireworks display! A unexpected treat. This property had every amenity, the kitchen was well equipped, the linens and towels were beautiful, and the house was immaculately clean. Overall, a great place to start our east coast vacation.
We enjoyed having you as our guests and are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. It was nice to hear you speak highly of the property at check in and now on your review.
The view really is lovely - so relaxing. Lin' s is an added bonus. A great place to eat and far enough away that you don't even notice the cars.
I am happy that you were able to experience this part of the PEI National Park The beach and trails are beautiful.
Thank you for mentioning the cottages amenities, and the details on the kitchen, towels, and especially that it was immaculately clean. It is our goal to always provide an exceptionally clean cottage for our guests. Thanks again for saying that.
Thank you for staying with us and if you do another east coast vacation perhaps we will see you some time again!
Beautiful cottage with all the amenities. Jennifer was very accommodating with our arrival. May be back next year.
When we spoke during your stay and at check out, I was happy to hear how much you enjoyed your stay at the cottage.
Thanks for the great review - much appreciated. I was happy to accommodate your arrival - meeting where we did worked out.
Would love to have you back again!
All the best,
A must see stop is the Greenwich Beach and trails at Greenwich PEI National Park. The Greenwich Dunes trail over the Bowley Pond is absolutely stunning.
A visit to the Greenwich Interpretation Center can provide information on the area.
5 minutes away at St. Peters Bay there are seasonal gift and craft shops, restaurants, fish market, coffee shop, bike and kayak rentals, churches, live seasonal entertainment and a visitor info center. An access point to the Confederation Trail is at the Bay. The stretch along St. Peters Bay is considered to be one of the most beautiful sections of the trail. You can walk or bike on the trail. If you don't have your own bike you can rent one at the Bay.
Kayak/Canoe rentals allow you to explore the Bay and the Morell River.
There are many things to see and do in the Points East Coastal drive region of PEI.
Enjoy a scenic and coastal drive in all seasons.
QEH is the largest hospital on PEI and is located 40 minutes away in Charlottetown.
The closest hospital is in Montague or Souris 20-30 minutes away. They do not always have ED service.
