I've been blessed to live in Pass-a-Grille, in the Butlerhouse amid a ten block residential area of lovely homes and relatively private beachfront. I moved here from NYC many years ago. I work nearby at Frank Hurley Associates, Inc., Realtors. This is a village community, a haven from which you can explore the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida and enjoy myriad venues, visit theme parks, villages, shopping, museums, galleries, theatre, orchestra, sports, cafes along Tampa Bay and parks, recreation...and the most beautiful beach in the world. It's a mix of village and luxury, artists and attorneys, a unique community, a place that's very hard to leave. I can tell you.....I finally came to visit in 1982 and essentially, I never left..
This property sits on the dunes amid a ten block section of relatively private beachfront in a historic residential beach community. It is still a secret, perched on teh beachfront just 9 blocks south of the historic Don Cesar Hotel, but a half mile from the Bayway and direct access to I-275. Besides enjoying a lively historic community with our own main street Pass-a-Grille, one can go to dinner and a concert in Clearwater, Tampa, or Sarasota and be home by midnight. Explore the beautiful communities and beaches and river cafes along the Gulf coast of Florida.
This is a haven that's so easy to get to, and very, very hard to leave.

Joan was very hospitable & provided everything we needed! The location was great; you just take a short pathway right to the beach. Beach was amazing-clear water & beautiful sand, AMAZING sunsets! Great restaurants & ice cream shop in town.
This quaint 1/1 always delivers a quiet get-a-way, steps from the beautiful beach of Passagrille. The owner, Joan has been a local for many years and can assist you with a real estate purchase, if you fall in love with the area, like we continue to do! Pack little and just plan to book now as she has it equipped with blender, coffeemaker, TV etc!
The best spot ever. Beach was amazing, restaurants and convenient store within walking distance. All the neighbours were wonderful including Vincent the nightly kitty cat visitor! Perfect! Thank you so much Joan! !
From the moment my husband and I stepped into our adorable little suite, we knew we were going to have a very special week in Pass-a-Grille. Joan has put so much love and attention into every detail, you feel right at home from the very beginning. We had so many long walks on the beach, finding pretty seashells, walking to the restaurants and shops; and we didn't feel bad at all eating all the good food because we were getting so much exercise. Sea Critters restaurant was one of our favorites.. One of the highlights for us was watching the amazing sunsets that we were so fortunate to see. I video taped many of them on my iPad and I plan to rewatch them over and over when we get back home. We especially like the small hometown feel of PAG compared to the crowds and craziness of the other beaches nearby. We have stayed in many other areas of Florida over the years, and we both agree this is our favorite place to be. Joan gave us our own space, but was always close by if there was anything we needed. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming to us, and we hope to return again sometime.
Thank you Tim for telling me about Route 10. We used it going back home and it truly made a big difference in our travels. We'll definitely remember that for future trips.
I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone looking for a clean and cozy little beach retreat. Joan as included so many little extra touches, and I loved the large walk in closet that we were able to put to good use. Believe me you won't be disappointed.

I have only wonderful things to say about our recent stay at Joan's lovely condo. The entire community is really neat and such friendly people; we left having made new friends in Joan and her awesome neighbor, Tim! If we ever make it back to the area, it's a beautiful thing to be able to say we have friends to visit.
In terms of the condo, it was so clean and the decor is very eclectic, which is me and my husband's taste, so it was great! It was also very comfortable; being able to open the windows to feel the breeze was really nice for us since we came down from bitter cold Chicago! And, the best part, the beach is truly steps away down a quaint little path. I enjoyed my yoga practice on the beach each morning. Our two year old son enjoyed running around the beach every day. The weather was gorgeous, especially for the time we were there, late December! We used the well-equipped kitchen for almost every meal. If we ever make it back to Pass A Grille, this will be our first choice for accommodations... it was truly "home" all week.

We've stayed in quite a few VRBO's. Usually I don't review but in this case I have to take the time to put up a positive review. WE LOVED IT. The onsite management showed a really exceptional level of concern for our stay. Place was very clean, very nicely furnished, very comfortable. I've stayed in PAG twice before and really like this location Just over the dune to the beach. Just a few blocks from town or to The Don, Sea Critters, Shaners, etc. Usually we never stay at the same place twice but we both would like to come back to Butler House!
