About Susan O'Kelley or Mickey O'Kelley
My late husband Tommy and I were real 'beach' people, and living in the Atlanta, GA area we could always travel to a Georgia beach, a North or South Carolina beach, or a Florida beach within a few hours. Needless to say, our family always spent our vacations at some beach. I'm retired now and my husband Mickey and I enjoy traveling as much as possible, as well as spending time at Edgewater Beach. We have 7 grandchildren between us and spend a lot of time at softball games, baseball games basketball games, football games (two of the granddaughters cheer); in other words, our world is our grandchildrens' world right now -- as it should be.
Susan O'Kelley or Mickey O'Kelley purchased this Condo in 1988
Why Susan O'Kelley or Mickey O'Kelley chose Panama City Beach
When my two children were growing up, we always spent our vacations on the East coast of Florida -- Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach (4 of us in one motel room!!), and then we discovered condos at New Smyrna Beach (whew!) when they were teenagers. I had only been to Panama City Beach once for a weekend and it rained the entire time we were there -- didn't like it a bit. Things changed when the AT&T Telephone Pioneers held their annual convention at Edgewater Beach in Panama City in 1988. I absolutely loved Edgewater Beach Resort and, since my husband and I had always wanted to own something at the beach, we bought our 2-bedroom condo in April of that year. We love it there, and when we visit, I just don't want to come back home to Monroe, GA.
What makes this Condo unique
We love the Lagoon Pool and the fact that we can walk, take the tram, or drive over and park at the beach if we're taking a lot of stuff over. I actually love our unit in the Golf Villas. We stayed in the Towers several times while renting out our unit and, although it's great to be there on the beach, I didn't like the elevators. I like just being able to park and walk into our ground floor unit, and it's so quiet there. Enjoy the beach and come back to the quiet.
Minimum age of primary renter:25
Golf Villa 1901 is a No Smoking unit. Long distance calls must be made collect or by credit card. No pets allowed. If you forget your key and have to be let in by security, the $25 fee charged to me by EBR will be deducted from your deposit. You must provide your own paper products (a small amount of bathroom tissue will be left in the unit), dishwasher and laundry detergent, garbage bags, beach towels, etc. Free WiFi is available. Password will be provided upon booking. Thermostat should not be adjusted below 70 degrees, as the A/C will freeze up, causing a leak in the unit. If this happens and maintenance has to come over and reset the A/C (if this happens the cold air will not blow even though the fan is running and then the unit in the hall closet will begin to leak), I will have to deduct the maintenance charges from your deposit. Please treat Golf Villa 1901 as you would your own home.
100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date. 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
Unit was just as described
Loved the turtles in the pond
Had a lovely stay
They was redoing the roofs and we have a handicap child and had to park a mile away cause construction took up all the spots
The villas are being reroofed because of Hurricane Michael and there were construction trucks taking up some of the parking in front of the villas. I had absolutely no control over this. I’m sorry this guest had to punish me with a three star review because of this.
Susan was very nice and very responsive. The condo was great.
The property had everything we needed. A well stocked kitchen which made cooking easy. The condo was clean and decorated so cute. We loved feeding the turtles every day.
Susan was helpful and super responsive.
My family and I loved our week at the beach and I will definitely be renting this property again.
It was a beautiful condo!
The condo was nice! Our trip was cut very short due to Hurricane Michael. We would definitely rent this condo again.
Thanks so much, Stacia. I do hope you’ll come back again and skies will be blue for your entire trip. Boo to Michael.
Nice condo and location
We enjoyed our stay. The location is great and an easy walk or tram ride to the beach.
Thanks so much for your positive review. Hope you’ll stay in our “home away from home” again soon.
Our stay was awesome! Nice big clean unit. Just not happy with the owner (housekeeper) saying me left the place a mess. Not true! I've been coming to PCB for more than 20 years and have never gotten a bad review.
I personally checked the unit, washed the towels and dishes and made sure trash was out. They said we smoked in the unit, which is not true. I'm a non-smoker and make sure the smokers go outside.
And beware! Credit card fees are taken out of your deposit. Never heard of anyone doing this. I just assumed people jacked up the price to include that and the guest never knows.
Just overall disappointed. I really think these accusations were to just keep some of our deposit.
My housekeeper has been cleaning my golf villa since 1997 and I trust her judgment without question. It is her job to inspect and clean my unit and report to me any damage, etc. When she called me from my unit that day to report the place was left in a mess, I took her word for it. My villa is a NON SMOKING unit and cigarette butts were left in the master bedroom toilet as well as ashes left in the bathroom waste basket. The guest denied that and said she was the last one to flush that toilet. My housekeeper said she could smell cigarette smoke the minute she walked in. These guests did not follow the rules as listed in my confirmation letter (no smoking); they did not vacate the unit at the 10:00 am check out time, but left my housekeeper waiting outside for over an hour waiting for them to pack up and leave. My rules clearly state that 10 am is the checkout time in order for my villa to be cleaned in time for my next guests’ check in. The housekeeper usually can clean my 2-bedroom unit in less than two hours; this time it took her almost four hours and she charged me $40 extra for the cleaning. Some of this $40 may have been due to the over one hour she had to wait to get in to clean. This guest even indicated that she wondered if this charge by my housekeeper could’ve been a racial thing.
As far as the credit card charges, this fee is clearly stated on my VRBO web page.
There was a problem from the very beginning in that both the mother and the daughter were trying to reserve the unit, which I had to work to get straightened out with VRBO to get a payment the daughter made cancelled. Another problem arose when they didn’t follow VRBO’s instructions regarding paying the full amount of rental by a certain date. I had to work via telephone with VRBO and get a later date approved for the rental to be paid. I did everything I could to help these guests out.
I’m very disappointed that this lady has put this on my VRBO page, but feel I have to respond to defend my withholding from her deposit. Since 1997, I have withheld from a guest’s deposit less than a half dozen times.
The new Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum and Wonder Works are nearby. A multi-theatre brand new cinema located in Pier Park, a wonderful new shopping center with many retail stores and restaurants. The anchor stores are Dillards and J.C.Penney.
