The Buchanan Family Reunion
Last year we toured The Trout House looking for a place for our family to gather the following summer. The owners showed us a number of cottages on their property and we were impressed with how clean and accommodating they were. They mentioned that they had just acquired a new piece if property, and that it would be totally renovated and ready for the next summer season. Based on the quality of the cottages that we had seen we put down a deposit for The Wheeler House, confident that it would be a perfect place for our family reunion. We were not disappointed. We spent last week at the new Wheeler House and had a wonderful time. The updates were amazingly well done with granite counters in the kitchen, SS appliances, bead board ceilings, air conditioners in every room, 3 full bathrooms and plenty of room for the whole family. The wrap around porch has beautiful views of the lake and mountains - this is where we had our morning coffee and evening quiet time. We had established a " no electronics" week for the family and it was easy / painless to give up TV and internet ( although available) because there is just so much to do at the resort. The whole family enjoyed the waterfront with its beautiful beach, canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, row boats, sail boat, sand toys, floating dock and fishing pier. Local attractions are also close by. On our 2nd day at The Trout House we put down a deposit for a week next summer - it is our new happy place!
