Six Acres Of Peace And Quiet With Great Views.

This house was designed by an artist to maximize the use of natural light with its large windows and high ceilings.

The newly renovated two bedroom house is well equipped for your enjoyment. The beautiful views of the surrounding oak woodland and mountain ridges can be enjoyed from every room. Throughout the house you will find maple hardwood floors and updated appliances.

The kitchen is stocked with plenty of the amenities of home and a granite bar that seats four.

The living room is equipped with a 50 inch high definition smart television that allows you to stream Netflix, listen to Pandora or watch one of the provided movies. There are also a number of board games for the family to play. The large deck has patio furniture and a gas grill. You may be able to observe deer, rabbits, and birds from the deck and if you are lucky you may hear coyotes in the evening. The house is eight miles south of the town of Mariposa off of Highway 49 and 35 miles from two year round entrances into Yosemite National Park (highway 140 and highway 41).

About Erica Helling

We met in Yosemite National Park eleven years ago. Erica came out to Yosemite from Kentucky to work for the National Park Service Bighorn Sheep program. Josh moved to the Yosemite area in 1991 to work as a rock climbing guide, ski instructor and photographer. We are raising our two children in the Merced River Canyon below Yosemite.

Erica Helling purchased this house in 2013

Why Erica Helling chose California

We love the rolling foothills of Mariposa and wanted to find a place to one day move our family to. We looked at many properties but this one spoke to us. From the moment we pulled up we felt a sense ease and look forward to one day living here. We also like that it is close to the amenities that the quaint town of Mariposa, and Oakhurst have to offer.

What makes this house unique

The sense of peace and calm that washes over you when you are at this location is what drew us to this property. We could picture retiring here just fine.

Great place to stay near Yosemite

  • 4 of 5

We only stayed for 2 nights and spent most of the day out and about in Yosemite but the house was lovely. Very comfortable beds, clean and well equipped. It is in a very peaceful location and lots of local wildlife around the property. We would stay again if returning to the area.

We arrived with the instructions given and sat nav, no problem at all.

As we came up to the property, there was a definitely a wow from the ladies.

Beautiful location very peaceful.

Lovely house and very comfortable.

The only down side was the lack of washing machine facility, having travelled from England, or any long distance you need to keep up to date, what with luggage restriction etc.

Would we stay there again? In a heart beat, we did not want to leave .

Thankyou for making your property available for us . Don, Pauline, Paul & Norma. Essex England.

Mariposa Mountin house was a bright and beautiful place!

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about the house! It was beautifully decorated, lots of Windows to take in the pretty scenery and wildlife. The kitchen was well stocked with every kitchen tool and appliance you would need as well as spices, oils etc.. Everything was perfect! As far as accessing Yosemite, it took us 1 hour to get to the park entrance and another hour to get to our destinations in the park depending on where in the park we were going. If you want a peaceful, and relaxing cabin away from the park crowds, Mariposa Mountain house is your place!
