Located in Sugarloaf, 5 miles east of Big Bear, the cabin is just 10-15 minutes away from the slopes of Snow Summit and Bear Mountain ski resorts.

The cabin sits on a beautifully treed lot (3 lots fully fenced) in the Mountains of Sugarloaf, providing peace and quiet. The National Forest is just 100 yards away so you can enjoy hiking, sledding, or cross-country skiing. The open layout of the cabin provides a perfect atmosphere for a cozy and relaxing get-away.

The beautifully designed and spacious master bathroom has a two-person soaking tub and separate shower. The bedroom has a queen bed with a forced air heater to keep you toasty during those cold snowy nights. The living room has a new queen easy to pull out sofa bed to comfortably accommodate additional guests. The half bathroom is conveniently situated off the living room.

The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances, dishes, wine glasses, coffee grinder and maker, pots and pans, food processor, and everything else you'll need to prepare a gourmet meal. Firewood is not provided.

About Cheryl

Julie and I have owned this cabin for over 10 years and our family has enjoyed it to the fullest. We love spending family time at the cabin and hope your stay is

Cheryl purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Cheryl chose Sugarloaf

We love the outdoors and to disconnect from "city life". We searched for a place we could drive to on short weekends from Long Beach. We found what we were looking for in Big Bear with fresh air, Open Space, wilderness and close proximity to Long Beach.

A Perfect Getaway Place!

  • 5 of 5

The Zephyr Cabin is fully enclosed, so it's safe for kids and pets, plus the inside is cozy and clean with lots of remodeled features (like the grand tub!) that helps make your vacation even better. We highly recommend this property and would return here for sure!

Great family getaway!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I had a great family weekend here enjoying the snow with our 2 year old and dog. The cabin had everything we needed. We had a couple of maintenance issues which Cheryl and Al helped us with over the phone. The huge tub is uh-mazing and the fully fenced yard is great for dogs. The bed is really comfortable but the sofa bed is not and the living room got pretty cold at night. There are a couple of space heaters to help warm it up which worked out just fine. This place is super well stocked with paper towels, tp, tissues, napkins and trash bags. The forest is a short walk up the street and fun for your pets and children to explore. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful getaway from the big city!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a short weekend 2/10-12. Coming from LA, this was the perfect getaway! The cabin is so cute and had all of the needed amenities. It is only about 15-20 min. from Big Bear city. We bought a few items at Von's, but ate most meals out. There were plenty of dishes, silverware and cooking tools to prepare every meal in the cabin if you prefer. Upon arriving, we noticed one minor repair that was needed, so I called the property manager who assured me not to worry. It wasn't something that needed to be repaired with any urgency. The soaking tub was fantastic- for me the highlight of the cabin!

I have two tiny "complaints", but they are more subjective. I found the bed to be very hard and uncomfortable. It is memory foam, but a very firm memory foam. My boyfriend, on the other hand, thought it was fine. The other thing was that the living room gets very cold. We lit the fireplace and had the wall heater on, but even with 2 additional small space heaters we were in sweats and under blankets. Again, this is subjective.

Overall we LOVED it and would definitely go back!

What a charming, well-appointed, comfortable cabin. We had a wonderful time and especially loved the bath big enough for two! Thank you, Cheryl, for sharing your sweet mountain getaway.
