About Julie Hoffman

I moved here 17 years ago following a visit where I fell in love with Portland's 'not so big' size and European feel. My business partner is native to the area and shares my feelings about the city's energy and diversity.

Julie Hoffman purchased this apartment in 1997

Why Julie Hoffman chose Willamette Heights

Not unlike as it was in the early 1900's showing its prosperity, our NW neighborhood has seen a revival spurred on by gentrification. As such, we have renovated this Historic Beauty over the past 15 years trying to keep the original circa 1900 feel.

In the backyard, the setting is tranquil with a great soft-scaped patio space.

What makes this apartment unique

One of the best benefits of this property is that it's in a quiet, residential neighborhood yet just a few minutes from all of the action of NW Portland, Pearl District and Downtown!

If you like to walk and explore, this is such a lovely neighborhood in which to do that. No car is necessary for your stay here.

I love the history of the building and how the turn-of-the-century character has been preserved in its details.

The front porch is stately by appearance and provides a wonderful place to relax, enjoy a beverage, and watch passersby.

Peerfect Location

We spent seven nights here and even though it was damp most days we had a wonderful time. We used the street car everyday as it was so close. Every morning we would walk to have coffee, and in the evenings we walked to restaurants and bars. The condo was cozy and warm with a very comfortable bed.

Loved this heritage apartment and the NW neighbourhood!

  • 4 of 5

Julie was great to deal with and everything worked just as laid out. Being an older place there were, as expected, a few creaky floorboards but the place is very comfy and we really appreciated the fireplace with the cloudy, cool and some wet November days. We had a rental car but other than to and from airport, to Multnomah Falls and Seaside, we didn't need it at all. Grocery stores, restaurants, parks and rental bikes all very close and abundant. A great Portland accommodation!

Prime spot in beautifull old neighborhood in alphabet district

  • 4 of 5

Julie is a fantastic host. The place is as pictured. Spotless. and nice. The kitchen could use a few things as she is aware and I am sure she will see to as she responded expediently when we called her during our stay. The place has a odor of cat. Not terribly, but noticeable Julie and I spoke of this. Everything else, great. Would stay again. Close to the prettiest shopping area in Portland. Restaurants, shops, fantastic consignment shop, coffee houses etc. just 2 blocks . Thanks Julie for sharing your pretty place.

Owner's Response: Thanks for all of the suggestions and input, Nancy. We have addressed the slight cat, or musty, smell in the living room. We also thought it was time to freshen up the whole apartment with new, lighter paint and plusher bed linens. I hope you have a chance to come back for another stay and get the chance to see the new improvements! Regards, Julie
