My Wife and I have 5 Children all girls except 4. All of our children are married and have children. We have 23 grandchildren. We live in Cedar City, UT where we own and operate a regional Plumbing Supply Company & Internet Retail Business. We love to spend our much needed vacation time at Panguitch Lake.
Jeff Green purchased this cabin in 2007
We wanted a place where we could all get together to share a few weekends a year. In the early 90's when our kids were young we would spend a week each summer camping on a piece of property we owned at Panguitch Lake. When we decided to build a cabin it was only natural to build it on the property that we had camped on for all those years. The problem was that our family had grown so big that we needed a very big cabin to accommodate them all. So we build The Panguitch Lake Lodge
We spent the first week of August with our 5 children, their spouses, and 7 grandkids ranging from 1 to 13, as we do every second year in some big house near a National Park. All agreed that the Green's house was the best ever. Well equipped double sized kitchen, a huge deck with great views and plenty of seating for meals, plenty of comfortable king and queen bedrooms, and a bunk room and play space that would have held twice as many grandkids. Clean and well maintained - we all felt right a home. And there's a trampoline!
Spectacular parks are an easy scenic drive away and the rodeo in Panguitch was great fun.
Jeff Green was friendly, helpful, and quickly responsive to the few questions we had. This place earned our highest recommendation.
This cabin made for a terrific family reunion. There is plenty of sleeping space for everyone including the kids and the kitchen was set up to feed lots of people (2 big refrigerators, BIG stove). We set up one of the available tables as an island in the kitchen as we needed more counter space. The deck space was huge and all the kids were able to eat outside and several even slept out there. The trees around the property make it feel secluded and private. Plenty of parking too. We all loved the fire pit and enjoyed smores every night. We would certainly visit this place again!
The home is lovely as is the location. We were asked by email a few days prior to our arrival to please delay (5 pm rather than 4 pm) so the cleaning crew (who had gone on vacation) could have time to finish. The crew took even longer, forcing family, with young children to wait outside an extra half hour, which time should have spent preparing dinner for the children. The next morning a repair crew showed up at 8 am unannounced to repair kitchen drawers. We had noticed that 2 drawers runners were broken. We were then informed by the workers that they were told to repair and replace ALL of the drawer runners in the whole house. Apparently Garth (owner and dad) did not inform son Jeff (listing contact), so Jeff had no knowledge of this until after the fact. Jeff did not offer any explanation nor apology until after he was contacted by us today (not proactive). I had tried to text him when the workers arrived, but cell phone service is poor at the cabin (and I did not think to use the land line there). The workers took 4 hours to complete repairs. We were trying to keep a toddler out of their way and stepping around drawers on the floor and tools while making breakfast for everyone.
After the poor beginning, the rest of the stay was very nice.
There was not enough dining space for everyone to eat together unless we were to carry food downstairs to the wood floor room, or out to the deck, which was inconvenient. We didn't realize how much that would matter to us. I wasn't happy that there was a note on the fridge asking us to throw in a load of towels on our last day, to help the cleaning crew out. We were also asked to replace any consumable products (toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates, dish and dishwasher soap) that we used. Owner food was in both fridges, which we shifted to one fridge and tried hard to remember what was ours and what wasn't. Some shelves are marked for guests to store food in the pantry and one cupboard, which was helpful (though space was inadequate for our group for the week). We had 20 people there including a toddler and a newborn. Covered decks are fantastic, and we really enjoyed the fire pit!
Overall, I would recommend this place to others, without hesitation. Jeff has since apologized for our inconvenience. Favorite attractions: Cascade Falls and Cedar Breaks, as well as atv trails nearby. ATV rental from Duck Creek had the best price.
Our stay at the Green Cabin was one I will never forget, there's so much to do. We was only there for a weekend one of the days we took a short drive to Mammoth Cave first time there and had so much fun, the next day we took a short drive to Panguitch Lake for some fishing just wish I would have had my boat but still had a fun time fishing. What ever you decide to do your always excited to get back to the beautiful Green Cabin it's so relaxing and the view from any window in the cabin is absolutely breath taken. The worst part about our stay at the Green Cabin was having to leave. We hope to go back at least two times a year.
We would like to thank the Green family for opening their beautiful cabin. No one from our party had been to the area before and now no one is sure to forget it! The location was absolutely perfect for our event and the cabin was so spacious. We rented the cabin as the gathering location and a place for the out of town families to stay for our wedding and ended up having our wedding in the aspen trees in the yard by the creek. Typically places we’ve rented before look better on pictures and then it’s a let down on location. This was not true for the Green’s home! The picture reputations of the house were spot on or even lacking luster and the magic of the home.
Here are some of the pros and cons of the cabin at the time of our stay:
-Gorgeous Location (Especially in Fall)
-Close to a several great parks and activities for all ages
-Easily accommodated our large group
-Huge muli-purpose room worked great for large meals and also a dance hall
-Large kitchen with all the cooking/baking wear provided
-Plenty of bathrooms (bathrooms on each floor level)
-Surprise trampoline that the kids took full advantage of
-Cell phone signal was lacking but owner provided use of landline and wifi
For the past 9 years, me and my Brother's families have usually rented a large cabin for our annual get together. Typically we have a good time together regardless of our accommodations and this time was no different, and that's what is important. That being said and for the benefit of those that might care to read this, here are the pros and cons of the cabin at the time of our stay:
-Gorgeous Location (Especially in Fall)
-Close to a several great parks (Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks, etc)
-Easily accommodated our large group
-Clean for the most part
-2 fridges (we cook most of our own food so it was nice)
-Plenty of bathrooms
-Full payment was required up front. All other cabins had a down payment until closer to reservation. On the high end for price for what you get.
-Master Bedroom closets and drawers were full of Owner's personal clothes and items. We unpacked on the floor and dresser tops. Wife didn't like it.
-Only one burner worked properly on the commercial stove (we cook, kind of a big deal for us)
-Bring your own Toilet paper. They do not provided it.
-Bring your own water. Tap water not so great.
-Jetted tub had a do not use sign (not a big deal for us but it is listed on the description)
-Some beds not clean, we put new sheets on
Property Includes a PlayGround with Sandbox, 3 Swings, Picnic Table, & Trampoline.
Also has a Great Swimming Hole in the Creek on the Property!!
