Beautiful house in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for almost a week (would've stayed longer if we could've) and loved it! We are a family of 6 (2 parents, 3 20-somethings and an 8 year old) and the house was perfect. Loved sitting in the living room reading, looking at the deer & foxes out front. Worked together making gourmet (our version) breakfasts every morning - had great adventures in the area and the back in evening. Never turned on the TV except one rainy afternoon after a long morning hike to watch a movie. Got up early every morning for a morning hike up the road with our youngest - saw deer and a river otter. Played games at the table after dinner every night - saw a fox run by back door with dinner is his mouth! The stargazing was phenomenal.

Our adventures included: Vedawou, Downtown Laramie, Lake Owen, Saratoga Hot Springs, horseback riding at E & H Guide Services and hiking/exploring in the Snowy Mountains.

Centennial area dining: BearTree is a must for delicious pizza- we caught an evening with a live band out back!, Albany Lodge (worth the drive), Old Corral Steakhouse and the Mountain View for a great breakfast/brunch spot.

Stayed here with our kids and grandkids. The grandkids loved the loft. So nice to have a nice place to come home to at night after spending a day in the mountains. Thank you!

Wildlife Galore

  • 5 of 5

The house has a terrific view of the valley, and invariably there are creatures wandering in front of every window: deer and fawns, foxes and kits, moose, you name it. We enjoyed our Independence Day retreat and are so grateful that there's such a terrific house so near Medicine Bow. We hope to return again soon!

Perfect for Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The property was great, plenty of room for 5 adults. Very clean and in great condition. We saw foxes and deer daily, and the town of Centennial was great, very nice people. I highly recommend the drive between Centennial and Ryan Park on HWY 130. Lots of beautiful sights, and great hiking.

Beautiful scenery and wildlife

  • 5 of 5

Great location with mountain views & a creek flowing through the back. We saw moose, deer, geese & a fox from the warmth of the cabin. Everything was great......except the beds. The beds are all in need of new bedding, sheets, comforters and most importantly pillows. My husband ended up rolling up a t-shirt which was better then the flat pillow. The upstairs double bed has a mattress that squeaks and is very uncomfortable. A comforter that has to be as old as Abe Lincoln. Otherwise, everything else was absolutely perfect! The town is so cute and quaint. We happened upon the Bear Tree Tavern which has live music in the summer and a great outside patio to enjoy. We won't be back again as we were only here for our nieces wedding, but what a great place for R & R.

Owner's Response: Jackie, Glad you enjoyed your stay in the beautiful Snowy Range. I am sorry you were unhappy with the sleeping arrangements. All beds and bedding were purchased brand new 3 years ago, along with all the furniture. With sheets being updated this past winter. The comforter upstairs is new and has been dyed to obtain the rustic look for a more cabin feel. We also spend a fair amount of time in the home with family and have not heard this complaint. My apologies - Renee

Mountain Valley Getaway is located approximately 30 miles west of Laramie. We are 2 miles from Centennial, in a quiet, peaceful area, sitting on four acres. Enjoy sitting on the back porch surrounded by trees and a nearby stream. Medicine Bow National Forest offers an abundance of hiking, fishing, four wheeling, snowmobiling and many other activities. In the area are horseback tours and a wild horse eco sanctuary that also has guided tours. You can even hire a guide to take you fly fishing. The quiet community of Centennial offers a few restaurants and gift shop. This is a great area to getaway from it all!
