We've been Mainers for almost 30 years, although the locals still consider us 'from away'. We are a teacher and marine biologist. We look forward to welcoming guests to our apartment, where we lived while building our new home next door.
Carol purchased this apartment in 2012
The barn is a reconstruction of an early 1800's post and beam parish house that was once in Bristol Mills. Some windows and interior doors were salvaged from an 1875 razed home. Gently used vintage furnishings create a warm, inviting environment.
A 5 minute walk from Round Pond Harbor, an active lobster fishing and sailing harbor. Walk to fine dining or lobster in the rough.
Your place was truly amazing. Even though the purpose of this trip was to take a class, staying at your place made me feel like I was on vacation. I love the way you decorated the place, every aspect of your house is so beautiful. It's a true reflection of how warm and inviting the both of you are I hope I can make it back again!
We very much enjoyed staying at the Barn on Round Pond. Carol and Rick were great, helpful and informative without being intrusive. The apartment was lovely, spotless and well-equipped in a good location. We were able to easily explore Mid-Coast from here. We were here in October, foliage just starting to turn. We'd love to come back when the gardens are in full bloom.
We spent three nights at this rental and it was just what we imagined. Check out all the pictures on the rental sight. The home has beautiful gardens and the owners couldn't have been nicer. The apartment is spacious with lots of amenities. Best area in the state of Maine!
Delightful and peaceful place to stay! Beautiful home, Georgeous gardens, and a short walk to good dining and a cute café. ❤️
The barn was a very nice place to stay. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking our meals. The location was convenient for all of our day trips. Carol and Rick were hospitable and made sure that we were comfortable.

Our first visit to Maine was absolutely beautiful! Our stay at The Barn was wonderful as well. The surroundings were peaceful and very delightful. We enjoyed taking day trips into neighboring towns and harbors. The Granite Hall Store was really quaint and the atmosphere very welcoming, in addition to having really neat candy, ice-cream and toys. The owners of The Barn were very welcoming, informative and helpful. Our next stay will hopefully be much longer!
