Seal Rock...Waterfront Home On Hood Canal, 5 Bedrooms, & Fantastic Views

Escape to Seal Rock for a relaxing and fun-filled experience. Enjoy nature at its very best. Our home (3080 square feet) is two-story with the first floor wheelchair accessible and includes a large gourmet kitchen with double oven and island, and a more than ample dining room with table seating for 14, large living room. The main floor bedroom has your choice of a king-sized bed or two extra-long twin sized beds, and wheel chair accessible shower. The second floor offers the master bedroom with king-sized bed and large master bathroom that includes a 3-person jetted tub and separate walk-in shower. Three more bedrooms on the second floor have your choice of king-sized beds or two extra-long twin size beds (make your request with Tammy the owner). The second bathroom on that floor has a walk-in shower as well. There is also a recreational room on the second floor.

This beautiful property (1.91 acres) backs the Olympic National Forest and offers 135' of low bank waterfront (easy access to the beach); a view of Hood Canal, Dabob Bay, and Mt. Rainier; a new 6-person jetted spa on the patio; two large water and mountain view decks; fire pit (which is wheelchair accessible) and a gas barbecue for your grilling pleasure. Patio furniture and firewood provided.

Wading and playing in the water along with walking the beach is a favorite activity. Low tide provides oyster gathering, and crabbing in-season is available in front of our home. A boat is available for your use along with boots, life jackets, and much more.

Beautifully and newly remodeled, our home is ready for your vacation enjoyment.

About Tammy Kreger

I have been in the vacation rental business since April of 2012 and have two other vacation rental homes. My most popular is Nature's Paradise on Hood Canal VRBO property #422166, (please read my reviews). It has been wonderful sharing my properties with guests from all over the world. My guests have taken wonderful care of my homes.

I have been very fortunate to travel to every continent, 60 different countries, and 42 cruises so far. My favorite trip was traveling to Antartica. I think that I understand what guests appreciate when traveling. It is very hard to pack much on the airplane with luggage restrictions. The house is well equipped with things that will make your vacation more memorable and enjoyable.

The Seal Rock home has easy access to the beach. The main floor bedroom and bathroom is wheelchair accessible. The home is very comfortable for 14 people to come together and enjoy each others company and the amazing property. It surprises and delights me how much people enjoy my homes.

What makes this house unique

You can enjoy oyster picking, crabbing (seasonal), hiking, beachcombing, etc. There is so much to do. At the house we supply crab pots, crab bait, oyster knives, shovels, rakes, buckets for clam digging, rubber boots in many sizes, boats, life preservers, and much more.

Seal Rock home - as advertised and more!

Our family (7 adults, 2 children and an infant) spent an amazing long weekend at Tammy's and Wayne's Hood Canal home. In addition to just being with family, we enjoyed crabbing (for the first time), smores by the fire pit, card and board games, paddle boarding, seal watching, the hot tub and hiking (especially the waterfall). The kitchen had all the basics we needed and the extra refrigerator and sink were very helpful for cleaning the crab. Thanks for the crab bait and use of the boots, life jackets, row boat and crab pots!

We strongly recommend the Geoduck Café (Brinnon) for the food and local color, and the fish hatchery (Quilcene), especially for kids.

Thank you, Tammy, for your help and responsiveness! We have used VRBO/HomeAway many times and highly recommend this property to anyone!

Owner's Response: We are so glad that your family enjoyed your time at our home. It is wonderful to make quality memories with your family. Trying new things like crabbing is a lot of fun, the taste of fresh caught crab is so superior to crab you get in restaurants or stores. Sitting around the fire fit roasting marsh mellows and making s'mores is a great family activity. There are wonderful hikes nearby and a visit to the "secret waterfall" is a easy fun activity. It is fun to let your stress soak away in our water view jetted spa. You will usually see many seals, eagles, kingfishers, osprey, etc. It is a delight preparing meals for the family in our chef's kitchen, it is very large, there is room for everyone to lend a hand. When you have a large group two refrigerators are a must, it is better than working out of a cooler and restocking ice. There are nice restaurants in the area such as the Geoduck Restaurant and Bar which was chosen #2 bar in America by Esquire magazine. We will look forward to your next stay. Thank you, Tammy

Nice Retreat

We are a small group of church friends who have rented several homes around the NW so we have lots of homes to compare to. This one has some very nice features; it is large and had plenty of room for the 11 of us. The view and front deck is awesome, makes for nice morning solitude with your cup of coffee. The owner greeted us with a gift basket on the kitchen counter when we walked in, consisting of s'mores ingredients, coffee and other food items. Nice touch!

The bedrooms were good and beds were comfortable and everything worked. It was clean!

A few minor issues: The heating system is run on two heat pumps and designed in a manner that you have to have all 8 (yes I said "8") thermostats on the same, heat or cool system for any of them to work. This is a bit annoying when you need to change from one mode to the other and run through the whole house and into other people's bedrooms.

The house has no carpeting except on the stairway. While this makes for a more carefree rental by not worrying about stains on a carpet from renters, it also facilitates noise transmission throughout the home which makes it hard to keep quiet enough for those sleeping on the pull out couch upstairs on the landing.

Speaking of the stairway, the steps are too narrow ( up to code???) so you have to almost walk sideways to get down. Be careful!

Finally, we discovered after we had arrived that our friends from CA were traveling through the area and stopping by one day from mid afternoon to early evening. In fact, they arrived at 3 PM and left at 8:30 PM. The day prior I informed the owner of this as per the contract, rather than try to hide that fact as I would assume some might do. The owner told us, as per the contract, that there is a $25 per day charge for day visitors and asked how I would like to pay for it. I was a bit disappointed that she insisted we pay the full $50 fee for a short visit such as this, given that I was up front about the whole situation and given the short time frame. We all understand the issues that owners face of abuse of homes that renters do and it was totally within her rights to charge this fee. However, to not accommodate a request for at least a reduction, to us, seemed a little harsh.

Having said that, do we recommend this house? Sure, it was fine. We appreciated too that the owner did bend policy and allow us to stay only three nights instead of four, so it's not like they are totally unreasonable. We recommend!

Owner's Response: We are very glad that you had a nice stay and would recommend our home. We have a very expensive heating and cooling system which is a little hard to understand. It does work pretty well and if any of my guests need help setting it to their desired temperature I can control it remotely from my computer. I do have instructions at our home. The ductless heating and cooling system was supposed to be the best choice because you can have different temperatures in all of the rooms. Our choice of porcelain tile is beautiful, hypo-allergenic, and a strong surface that can be cleaned over and over again. We have some carpet in our other two vacation rental homes and it is a nightmare. Those carpets need to be shampooed very often and with guests checking in and out on the same day there is a problem with the carpet drying before that happens. Carpets, wood floors, linoleum, and ceramic tiles (poorer quality tile) are problem surfaces. Our reviewer has mentioned that he wonders if the stair step size is up to code, it is up to code per Jefferson County they are very particular about permits and approvals. We didn't build the house. Day guests are the biggest problem we have as vacation rental home owners. We do have a fee because we want to limit the negative impact on the neighborhood and impact on our home. Day guests may seem harmless but we want to be in control of the amount of people that are at the house and on our property. We have had several problems in the past with people inviting many people over for a party. The day guests have not followed our rules and have disturbed the neighbors. It may seem harsh to charge for day guests but it is in our contract. We need to know what is happening at our property to be able to continue in business in a positive light to our neighbors. 400 Seal Rock Road beach home

The house was beautiful with a peaceful surrounding. Tammy and Wayne put a lot of effort with supplying their house with everything you need. We are from Hawaii and we were wondering how we were suppose to cook rice and lord and behold, there was a rice cooker in the cabinet. it was great cooking and spending time at the beach below, picking oysters and clam. our kids kept trying to get a picture or video of the elusive humming bird. My family is already

talking about coming back again. Thank you Tammy and Wayne.

Outstanding time!!

Our group stayed in Tammy's other property on Hood Canal 2 years ago and were so impressed we rented this one on Seal Rock Road this year. We continue to be blown away by the way the rentals are set up! Cookware for every imaginable use. Knives that are sharp! Spacious kitchen. Very clean and accommodating bedrooms! We are a group of guys who used to work together at the local Boy Scout Camp, Camp Parsons, back in the late 60's and early 70's and have gotten together every year for the last 16 years. We are already talking about next year and everyone agreed that we should come back here...even the guys who live in Oregon! Outstanding facility, Tammy! Thank you for everything you have done to make any stay memorable.

We tried to model our newer Seal Rock home after Nature's Paradise with a well appointed kitchen, dining room table, large open floor plan, to help make a large group feel comfortable and welcome. All five bedrooms can be made up with two extra long twin sized beds or a king sized bed. My boys and girls groups like that flexibility as well as couples and families. You have told me that the kitchen is very important and you take turns making special meals for your friends. The Seal Rock kitchen is huge, well equipped and fun to work in. There is room for your entire group to work together. We are honored that you have decided to come back next year for your third stay at Kreger Properties, LLC. Beautiful views, well appointed house, all the right touches!

This was our group's third stay at a Kreger property. Our first two were at Nature's Paradise just a couple of miles south. We enjoyed both houses as each has its own particular charm. You will lack for nothing at either property - from the moment you arrive and are greeted with an unexpected basket of goodies to enjoying the well-appointed kitchens, your stay will be comfortable and relaxed. The descriptions provided for each of the properties is not exaggerated and you will find everything available as described therein. Tammy (the owner) is thorough about being attentive to details both before and after your stay and will go the extra mile to answer any questions you might have or make suggestions where appropriate. If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable stay on the Hood Canal in the middle of some of the most beautiful scenery in the world there's no need to search any further. I guarantee you will enjoy every minute of your stay!
