Looking for a pleasant stay in a walkable, well established Albuquerque neighborhood? Situated in the Historic Monte Vista neighborhood, in the Heart of Nob Hill, this is an exceptional location. You'll enjoy this renovated, comfortable and warmly appointed interior, with abundant natural light, custom mosaic tile and a great kiva fireplace that warms cool evenings and mornings, and gives great ambiance throughout the year. The Dining room spills out to the backyard so you can relax on the patio and enjoy the yard which is full of flowering plants, herbs and an organic garden which has been producing fresh veggies for years. The Kitchen is stocked with pots/pans, dishes, Microwave, Snacks, Organic Coffee, etc... etc. And the 2 bedrooms offer queen beds and fresh linens. A shared Washer/Dryer/Clothesline is available for your use. A wonderful, convenient and comfortable stay in the Land of Enchantment. Accommodates 1 - 4 people.

A Prime Location affords an Easy Walk to Nob Hill, UNM, UNM Hospital, Shopping, Buslines, and Easy Freeway Access. There is a Park across the street and others in the near vicinity. Restaurants are a short walk to Nob Hill commercial scene on Rt. 66. There are 4 Grocery Stores w/in 1 mile, including Whole Foods, The Co-op. Sprouts and Smiths. UNM is 1/2 mile. Off Street Parking is provided and Recycling & Composting are on site.

Relax in front of the flat screen TV and enjoy the simplicity. TV/DVD, WIFI, gas, water, and electricity all included. If relaxing outdoors is for you, you'll appreciate the private backyard where you'll find an intimate seating area on the flagstone patio.

I am on site (separate dwelling), so if you have questions about the house, Albuquerque or New Mexico, or have any issues that might arise during your stay, I am available for answers. I have been a resident of NM for some 38 years and have a lot of knowledge of the state.

Nob Hill is a historic neighborhood developed in the 1930's during the WPA era and there are a diversity of Architectural styles, from Streamline Moderne, Spanish Colonial and Pueblo Styles, to the current Architectural wonders by Bart Prince who lives down the street. Walking the neighborhood will give you a pleasant exchange with the past and a wonderful visit to old Rt. 66 with all the shops, cafes, restaurants and the Guild Theatre. UNM offers Popejoy Hall w/fabulous performances and Aux Dog Theatre is down the street! The BioPark, Zoo & Oldtown are 10 minutes west.

Bus lines abound on Lomas and Rt. 66 (Central Ave). 1/2 block to 5 blocks to catch a Bus and the Bus can take you to the Rail Runner, Downtown, which can take you on a scenic ride up to Santa Fe. The BioPark, Old Town & Zoo are all accessible from the bus. The airport is about 10 minutes away and there is easy access to the freeway.

I live on site (separate dwelling). I am bilingual - Spanish/English. I do have a young dog (+2.5 yrs. now), so please note.

Cleaning Fee for 2 weeks or more only. Nightly does not apply.

About Catherine

I am a landlord, an architect/designer, an artist. I love to travel. I was a virtual vagabond in my younger years, so I know how important a nice place is, as well as a good location. I usually travel simply and inexpensively, and I love B & B's! Some of my favorite stays have been at a B & B. I look for the unusual, quirky and 'off the beaten path' places to stay. My favorite destinations usually involve the ocean so I can swim or body surf.

I love the arts, clean lines and simplicity. I enjoy doing mosaics, painting, building and working with clay. I also enjoy gardening. I am a hands on type of person.

If I am a guest, I am curious, responsible and mind my own business. If I am hosting you, I will meet you at the door with the keys and be just a few minutes away if you need anything. I will help you out with what ever you need or anything you need to know about staying in Albuquerque. There is plenty to see in this area.

The location of this property in Nob Hill is just the best. Easy access to everything, eclectic neighborhood near the university, close to shopping and all one needs to enjoy a visit to the Land of Enchantment.

The home is comfortable and renovated while maintaining the characteristics of the 1940's Vintage home it was built as.

Parks and cafes abound and transportation or walking is an easy option if you come w/out wheels.

What makes this house unique

Location, Location, Location!!! My Nob Hill Vintage 2 Bedroom is located so close to everything that most conveniences are within a short walk. Easy access to and from, by car, bus, train or plane is minutes away. The airport, train station, buses and the freeway are all reachable within a few minutes to 10 minutes. Restaurants, Shopping, Grocery stores, Pharmacies, Barber Shop, Dry Cleaners and Florist are a hop and a skip from the front door. 2 Parks are just a block or so away and an elementary school is a few blocks down the road with a nice playground. Museums and Oldtown are all a bus ride away or about 10 minutes.

Apart from a great location, the house is very comfortable with a sweet patio and garden area which is nicely shaded in the afternoon and has morning sun. The house is 1940's vintage with modern and eclectic furnishings. The Owner is around for questions and any assistance needed during your stay.

Enjoy the Land of Enchantment from an easy and comfortable location in the Heart of Nob Hill!!

Quaint with local flavor

This property is a quaint adobe at the edge of Nob Hill. It is perfect for those who are environmentally minded and appreciate architectural history versus all new renovated. This place has beautiful mosaic counters, crank windows, and other original features. The place is clean and had two comfy queen beds. The owner and her dog are on site. She is attentive and communicative. Everything was ready for our arrival, even some snacks, coffee and cream - She asked!. A short walk down the street brings you to local restaurants and shops, or a few minutes drive to old town Albuquerque. It is also minutes from the Coronado Mall for shopping and the shuttles for the Balloon Fiesta. Had a wonderful and comfortable weekend.

Nice property, not the best option for families

The property itself was great and the interior is very clean and well appointed, with everything you may need. We are a family of 4, and the space was great for us. The location really is convenient for walking to Central, and there are open spaces and plenty of stores nearby. We were looking for a long term rental, but it just didn't work out for us as a family. Catherine now has a puppy, which prevents use of both the front and back yards, which we were looking forward to. Be sure to follow the rules exactly as stated in the user info packet, or you will be reprimanded by email. This includes doing more than the allowed 2-3 loads of laundry allowed per day, even if those loads include sheets and bath mats. We were also accused of stealing a dog's ball, a set of towels and some of the silverware. None of these was the case and it was cleared up with Catherine amicably, but it is not fun to be a grown adult and having someone count the silverware in front of you when you just finished cleaning the house for checkout. Realize that this property is a duplex with a shared laundry area, thin floors, and decent sound sensitivity between the units. Overall I think this house is a great location for people visiting for a short period who will be out of the house during the day. I would not recommend it for families looking for a temporary but longer term base in New Mexico (2 or more weeks).

Pleasant, quaint and quiet

I had a very nice time staying at this house. I love the style and furnishings are all fitting for the era this house was built. Everything was super clean and very close to everywhere I needed to be. So many stores and restaurants to check out in Nob Hill. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Well situated

This property is situated easy walking distance to Central Avenue, where you can find restaurants, banks, cinema and a coop grocery store featuring wonderful products. The house is clean and well appointed with everything we needed including a comfortable bed, a well equipped kitchen, and good wifi. The owner, Catherine, was extremely helpful with household information, travel ideas and general knowledge about the area. She responds promptly to email, and is friendly and helpful. The neighbourhood feels safe and we were warmly welcomed to a local church to hear a jazz singer, one Sunday morning! There is off road parking, and a private rear garden. I highly recommend this rental property.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this rental. It was very clean, comfortable and fully furnished rental for 3 adults. Kitchen had everything we needed to make simple meals. Great location in Nob Hill. Catherine was very accommodating and helpful. I would choose this property again. We loved Nob Hill.
