Location, Location, Location, slope-side in the Axtel Building.

Located in Mt Crested Butte, slope side of the mountain. Wonderful views off the large balcony. Shops and restaurants just around the corner and Historical Crested Butte just a short 10 minute (free) bus ride with more shopping and amazing restaurants for all walks of life.

It's the perfect location for skiing and mountain biking. A true ski-in/ski-out and bike-in/bike-out location. If you were any closer, you would be sitting on the mountain.

About Mark Shamalian

It all started out with visiting friends in Crested Butte in December of 2012. The more I visited, the more I fell in love with Crested Butte. The next thing I knew, I was looking for the perfect place for skiing and mountain biking.

It is such an amazing area for skiing, mountain biking, shopping, or just sitting back and taking in the beauty of the mountain.

Mark Shamalian purchased this condo in 2014

Why Mark Shamalian chose Southwestern Colorado

There's something for everyone. From enjoying the ski season to taking wildflower hikes, attending farmers' markets, craft fairs, local town events, concerts, and much, much more.

What makes this condo unique

Relaxing on the balcony, listening to summer concerts from the balcony, majestic views of Mt. Crested Butte, Jeeping nearby, Hiking nearby, Zip Line, Miniature Golf, oh, did I mention the Silver Queen & Red Lady chairlifts are right outside your door?

Great Ski-in Ski-out Location

  • 5 of 5

Very functional and nice condo for our stay (2 adults, 1 teenager). Not fancy, just what is needed. Cozy (small), but comfortable. Two quad lifts just steps away from the entry stairs. Ski right up to the entry stairs. Quiet in the evenings.

Great location!

This Condo was great! It has a great view of the slopes and a true ski-in/ski-out. The building is old but the condo was upgraded.

Great Condo! Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

We came up to Crested Butte for a last minute ski weekend getaway and were very lucky to find this condo!

The location simply can't be beaten! Walking out the door and onto one of two high-speed quad chairlifts was a treat...and access to dining options in the immediate area, as well as a free shuttle to downtown, allowed us to park the car and forget about it for the whole weekend.

The condo itself was terrific. The place was well appointed, comfortable, clean, and more than enough room for the two of us. Other reviewers who have mentioned the comfortable bed were spot on.

The owner was extremely easy to work with and very quick to reply. A very good experience.

We have traveled a fair amount and had some pretty wonderful experiences along the way. This trip was one of our favorites! Come stay here...

Another Great Stay at Axtel

  • 5 of 5

For the second year in a row, we stayed at Mark Shamalian's condo. Of course, the best part is the location -- putting on ski boots in the warmth of the condo at 8:55 AM and still being among the first chairs up the mountain is something truly special. So too is having lunch in the comfort and warmth of the condo, taking off those cold boots and having a healthy lunch while lounging in the condo, all more quickly, easily and cheaply than you could do at a mountain place. And watching the mountain close down or wake up from the living room or balcony and/or with a fire in the natural fireplace. And, if you go out for dinner, the town shuttle is a short walk. All of this more than makes up for the fact that the condo is somewhat small, but quite adequate for 2 of us. The king bed is very comfortable. Because of almost 20 feet of snow in the recent past (mostly before we arrived), the skiing was unbelievable -- the only downside was that the roof had to be shoveled and the snow cats had to get rid of the snow for a couple nights, causing a bit of very early morning noise as they removed the shoveled snow that had been piled almost as high as our second floor balcony -- we guess we can accept the noise in exchange for the snow, fantastic skiing and views. Mark Shamalian has been a great and very responsive landlord 2 years in a row, and we hope for some future years as well. OK, we do admit moving in and out is a challenge -- the trip from the parking lot to the condo is a bit of a challenge UNTIL one remembers that you only have to do that twice vs. the short 40-50 foot trip to the Silver Queen lift EVERY day of your stay. Bottom line, we are extremely happy with this place. Enjoy (but please don't take our 2 weeks)!

BEST LOCATION EVER!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week at Mark's condo. And I must say, this is the BEST condo and location. You cannot find a better view and location for your vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed the condo. It is a small unit but has everything you need. There's a pullout couch in the living room and a big king size comfortable bed in the bedroom (we slept like a baby in the king bed). There's a huge balcony to sit outside and the view is perfect, right in front of the lifts and beautiful mountain view. We used the fireplace every night because it was cold when we were there. We went to Christmas eve and Christmas day mass at the little catholic church in town. Everyone in Crested Butte is the nicest people we've ever met. I have to say Mark, the owner, was very attentive to our every needs. If we had a question, he was only one click away and always responding to us so quickly! There were a little bit of noise from upstairs but that's expected when there's another unit on top but it wasn't too bad. Other than that, our holiday ski vacation was perfect. We are hoping to come back to Mark's condo again and again. We love Crested Butte. I think it's one of our favorite ski places from now on! Thank you so much Mark for sharing your condo with us. It was such a wonderful and most memorable family vacation.
