This house is a quaint 2 bedroom ski chalet with an 2 queen size beds and an extra single bed in the walk out basement. The airtight woodstove in the main floor living room makes the space warm and cozy in the winter months. There is a large screen TV with surround sound, DVD and bluray player and full laundry facilities in the basement. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, dishwasher and full set of dishes. The home will comfortably house 4 - 5 people.
Guests will have access to the private Hidden Valley Beach on Penn Lake. The house is up the street from the ski hill and a short drive to HV Resort, Deerhurst Resort, Deerhurst Highlands Golf Course, Lakeside Golf Course, Clublink's Mark O'Meara Golf Club and only a few minutes from Huntsville's historic downtown core! We are only a 45 minute drive to the west gates of Algonquin Park.
The close proximity to all the recreational amenities of the area make this location ideal for a getaway. It is a very private lot in the summer months so you can enjoy a fire at the fire pit in the middle of the beautifully landscaped yard. The chalet is not air conditioned.
I was born and raised in Huntsville. I am a real estate agent and currently the Mayor of Huntsville. I love hockey, golf, music and reading.
I love to travel to places where I will experience new cultures, food and customs.
Scott Aitchison purchased this chalet in 2009
Very nice chalet, fully equipped, lots of windows, at the top of Hidden Valley ski hill. Owner was very pleasant to deal with. Would come again.

This is a great location close to Huntsville with lots of shopping and restaurants. The cottage has a private lot with firepit and looks to be professionally landscaped. This property was very clean and was completely equipped, the beds were excellent as were the linens and towels. Overall we were very pleased and would definitely stay here again.
The cottage was very clean and in a great location. Huntsville was a beautiful little town that had everything you need .
Truly enjoyed our stay.
We really enjoyed staying at the cottage. We went up for a wedding at Deerhurst resort and had a great weekend. The small private beach includes a volleyball court that was very fun. House was stocked with everything that we needed. We would definitely recommend.
Family and I stayed there for 4 nights back in May and found accommodations excellent. On point amenities like the full kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, and laundry were appreciated. 5 minutes drive from Deerhurst resort for competition weekend. Very convenient. We also loved the fire pit out front of the property. Scott was very responsive to a power situation we encountered when we arrived. Turns out it was a power company issue and nothing to do with this chalet. We'll be back for sure!
My family of four (including 2 teenaged boys)+ our dog stayed at Scott's place over the Easter weekend, arriving in the midst of a late winter storm. The house was clean, well-appointed, and we enjoyed using the wood burning stove the nights we were there. It is furnished like a "camp" which is what Northwestern Ontarians call their cottages. It is located close to Arrowhead Provincial Park, where we went snowshoeing one day, and just around the corner from Hidden Valley for skiing and snowboarding the next. There were deer regularly wandering nearby, visible from the windows unfortunately for our dog who was going bananas. We went for dinner one night to Spencer's Tall Trees-- were very impressed with the menu and we all enjoyed the duck confit on spaetzle poutine! so delicious. We watched a movie one night, and some final four basketball - my husband had to re-attach everything to the TV for that to happen which wasn't a big deal for us, but might be for a less tech-savvy visitor in the future. The boys' only complaint really was the spotty wifi, but it was pretty stormy that first night. My 15 year old slept in the downstairs bed, and it was a tad bit chilly even for him but he had enough blankets etc and was alright. Overall we had a good weekend, and nice to have found a place that was pet friendly where we could leave our dog for a few hours and not worry about her. Scott was easy to contact and was helpful in answering questions. I would recommend this property to family or friends.
