Hi, my name is Anthony and I live in London. I came across this Cypress Pointe development at the early building stage in March of 2013 when I visited Orlando to look for a vacation home, my kids had made me promise that we'd visit Disney every year. I didnt want the Disney hotel resort holiday, I've done Disneyland in Paris and for me the themed hotels offered poor value for a family with poor quality food. We preferred a family home away from home but still within easy reach of downtown Orlando and both coasts. I spent 2 whole days with the Realtor looking at the various rental areas in davenport. For me, most of the older vacation homes looked a little tired, more suited to a retirement home, which is fine, I'll probably retire to my home in the future. We were drawn to the newness of the development and the-get-away-from-it-all feeling. This village is very peaceful. The plot I purchased at the time was bare earth. I was drawn to the design exteriors which reminded me of caribbean villas and happy holidays in Jamaica, my parents are from Jamaica. I've watched the house grow as the developers have sent me photos at every stage. I was first to stay here with my Mum and Dad, who live in the US, in Oct 2013 and they loved the house-
actually, it was a struggle to get them to leave! My kids have been to Disney and I hope they will return year after year with their friends and with their family. My home is fully managed by a local management company who take care of maid services between bookings and are on hand should any minor repairs need fixing. They take pride in the homes they manage and I am very pleased with the level of service they provide to my guests. Feedback is always welcome on how you find my home on arrival, but you won't be dissapointed. I welcome you into my home, I know you will enjoy your stay!
Anthony Russell purchased this villa in 2013
private pool/spa, brand new house, all new furnishings and fittings, 50' flat screen wall mounted tv in lounge, tv's in all other bedrooms. Quiet development but within easy reach of the thrills and spills of the Disney parks and shopping on International Drive. Close enough to either coastal beaches for a day at the seaside, we like Clearwater beach, just past Tampa
free wifi and cable. cordless phone in kitchen, additional phone in master bedroom 1. Free local calls. High chair and cot just added for small children staying.
Great house near the Disney parks. Family of 8 enjoyed the property. The only thing was the playroom was very hot because it was the garage, but the kids still had fun. The manager who was available was great and answered my calls and text when I had questions.
This house is new and in a gated community and is plenty spacious. It is an easy drive to Disneyworld and Sea world. It seems perfect, but for me it was full of stumbling blocks. I rented it using the Homeaway app on my phone and I guess that was my mistake. We intended to spend a lot of time in the pool and most our planned meals involved a BBQ. So an outdoor seating area and grill were a priority. The seating area by the pool was perfect, but there was no grill. It turns out that the app does not show any notes the owner makes on the list of amenities so I couldn't know that the grill has to be rented...
I never expect a house to come with anything in particular in the kitchen, but I rent houses twice a year and they all have had some helpful items in the kitchen. If you rent this house, expect only the minimum. No condiments or seasonings.... There isn't even salt. No potholders to protect hands and countertops from getting burned, only one dish towel. There was a can opener, but it was broken so we had to run to buy a new one. No dish soap or sponge for washing dishes. No mixing bowls or containers for storing food in the fridges. I don't expect all these things, but this is the first place that has had none of them. I made so many trips to the store.
The game room was well intentioned with a large variety of games, but the only really functional one was the fuseball. There was a dart board with no functional darts, an air hockey table that was so wobbly that I told everyone not to touch it for fear of it breaking it. The pool table was usable, but both cues had no tips so it was a little frustrating.
My final stumbling block was that the checkout instructions asked for the towels to be washed... I had to run to the store once again for laundry soap to wash them. I left them running in the dryer when we left. I shouldn't have bothered since we got charged for the towels after we left. Apparently ALL of them were stained. We only used them for showers, they weren't stained when I put them in the wash. I don't know, I really never got an explaination as to how we damaged all the towels.
Part of me wanted to give this property 1 star, but, despite my challenges, it has its nice points. The large outdoor seating by the pool was my favorite thing. And the open kitchen/dinning/living room was great for having everyone together. Wifi worked. Furnishings were adequate. Everything was comfortable.
We had a fabulous time staying here! It was clean and spacious and perfect for our extended family of 10. The layout worked great and it was nice having such a large space all on one floor. My inlaws and my husband and I had nice spacious master baths and my sister in law had her own bathroom located right outside her room. The kids shared the bathroom on the other side of the house located in between their two bedrooms. The pool was wonderful after a long day at Disney. We were happy that we paid the charge for the pool heat. The hot tub was a little confusing. We understood where the dial was to turn on the bubbles, but we quickly found out that the dial was also to heat the hot tub. We turned it on when we got home and it was hot enough about 30 minutes later. We had an issue with a smoke detector battery dying one morning and the management team had replaced the battery by the time we arrived home. The owner was prompt in answering all of my questions. The kitchen was stocked with basic supplies. We used the coffee maker and toaster a lot. We brought our own crock pot and a frying pan which we used quite a bit. The only other things I wish we would have bright is a big mixing bowl and tupperware. Luckily we had ziploc bags so the Tupperware was not a big deal, but making salads in a medium bowl was interesting. We put half in a ziploc bag and half in the bowl and made it work, but I would suggest you bring a large mixing bowl. We spent our week at all 4 of the Disney Parks. Getting to them was easy. It took us between 17-20 minutes to get to most parks. Parking was a little difficult at Magic Kingdom, but that had to do with Disney and not the home we stayed at. We had a wonderful time and if we stay off property next time we go to Disney we will try to stay here. I would also recommend this home to my friends!
This is our 2nd year at this wonderful villa. It is exactly as shown in the pictures. We had a few minor issues and Sue responded immediately and sorted the problems very quickly. She was very accommodating. We were a large group and the size of this villa provided for all our needs. Anthony was very responsive when we reported damage to a door prior to our arrival and he was great to deal with through the whole rental process, including a timely refund of our damage deposit. Cannot say anything negative about our stay, it was all a positive experience for us. Thank you Anthony.
We loved staying at Anthony's! It was absolutely beautiful and had everything we could possibly need! Loved how separate the bedrooms were from one another. Our only negative thing to say about this beautiful masterpiece is, the backyard does lack some privacy. Fortunately, not all the houses were rented at the time of our stay, so it wasn't too big of an issue. But, if you are looking for a backyard that backs onto a golf course or open area, this place may not be for you. Otherwise.. we'd go back in a heart beat!! Thank you so much for having us :)
