About Warren A. Roger and T. Jeanette Sutherland

My wife and I are both Saint Lucians who retired in 2004 and returned to Canada to rejoin our family there but we make frequent trips to the island. For the last several years we have leased the property for long term periods (the last long term tenant was there for three years). We have now decided to make it available for vacation rentals so that we or our family may also use it occasionally.

One of the biggest attractions is our World Heritage Pitons and the drive-in volcano in Soufriere.

Nearby is the award winning Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens where one may bathe in the warm spring water, in baths once used by French King Louis xiv's troops in the 18th Century.

Some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving is also located in this area, at the Anse Chastanet Hotel just minutes north of the town of Soufriere.

One of the most rewarding adventures could well be hiking our rain forest or even climbing the Gros Piton.

Yet closer to our condo in the north, Pigeon Point historic ruins and fort is a must see. Revel in its rich history dating back to the famous English Admiral Rodney and learn of his role and St. Lucia's in the great conflict for the New World.

Historic Pigeon Point is a less than 10 minute taxi drive away. Tour operators are based in Rodney Bay Village nearby for tours to Soufriere's volcano, Pitons, scuba, award winning botanical gardens. Horse riding, zip linning etc.

Wow- Perfect location

We stayed 8 nights in this lovely spacious Condo from 17-25 March. It is situated in a very quiet road with beautiful well kept gardens and a small inviting pool. The condo is well equipped for all your Self catering needs - and in a perfect location just a 2 min stroll to the beautiful Reduit beach. It's approx 1200m to walk the whole length of the soft sandy beach.

The sea is lovely and warm safe for swimming and at the end nearest the condo it's great for snorkelling amongst the rocks. The bars, restaurants and supermarkets are literally 5-10 min walk and the Marina is around 20 minutes.

There really is no need for a car.

A must visit is the local bar on the beach "Marie's fish shack" which serve locally caught fresh fish meals cold beers and rum punch all at local prices too.

There are lots of fantastic places of interest to visit whilst on the lovely island of St Lucia -The Pitons, Mud baths and Volcanoes , Bitanical gardens, Pigeon Island, Rum Factory and you really shouldn't miss out on the Friday night street party in Gros Islet.

We took a new day trip to the Grenadines whilst staying in Rogers apt which was absolutely breathtaking and can highly recommend. A private luxury 11seater jet flys you from the small North end Vigie airport to Canaoun (20 min flight) where you then pick up the Catamaran which then sails to Mayreau and the Tobago Cays. We swam and snorkelled in the crystal clear blue waters with an amazing array of fish, turtles, stingrays and even a small reef shark for good measure.

If you are interested "SERENITY VACATION AND TOURS" are the only company that operates this tour every Wednesday and they are absolutely brilliant, we also use them for our airport transfers.

A big thank you to Roger the owner who was extremely helpful answering all our questions regarding the condos location (nothing was ever too much trouble) and also for returning our deposit so promptly.

We would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a vacation with everything on their doorstep.

The apartment is situated in a wonderful nook that offers privacy and tranquility. What's more, the apartment is ideally situated; everything is easily accessible. Just a short walk, takes one to a serene beach, an excellent shopping district and an exciting expanse along the marina that boasts of diverse food choices. Great family vacation spot.

Out of Town

Nice apartment convenient to Rodney Bay

This is a great apartment. 2 nice beds, 1 bath with a great shower. Plenty of living space and a dining room. Nice patio. This unit is on the 2nd floor, which is pool level. The pool area is also very nice. All the appliances you need including washer and dryer. Close enough to town that we didn't really need a car. Alvin picked us up at the airport and provided good service (Roger can help you with that). The owner is super helpful and happy to answer questions. A great new supermarket is on the ground floor in the Rodney Bay mall, just a short walk. The beach is also nice and a short walk. Air conditioning in the bedrooms. One note, the beach by the apartment is popular with the locals. Most all are extremely friendly and polite. However, our stay fell on on the St. Lucia Labor Day holiday weekend. The beach was so packed and the music so loud that we couldn't go to the beach for the duration of the 3 day weekend. We kept to the pool and the music was still loud at the pool. Not the owners fault by any means. But if you're looking for peace and quiet, I would be sure and check the St. Lucia holiday schedule. Nomoroblem a the rest of the time. We also felt the apartment was overly warm during the day. It seemed that there was just not much of a breeze coming through. Maybe it was just the time of year. But no trouble cooling down at night. The apartment was super clean. There are beach chairs in the apartment, but if you want a lounge chair and umbrella you will have to rent them. We always felt safe and there were no other issues. All in all a great stay.

Great spot!

We had a short trip, but this condo worked out great. It's in great condition, a great location, and Roger and the property manager were extremely helpful in providing information and being available. We weren't familiar with St. Lucia but Rodney Bay/Gros Islet turned out to be a great place to stay as well - we had a rental car which came in very handy in general, but if you're planning on going without Rodney Bay really seemed like the best place in St Lucia to stay. Walk to the beach, walk to restaurants, etc. Be sure to check out Pigeon Island. Highly recommend!

A little bit of Heaven

We just returned from spending a week in this apartment, and enjoyed it very much. It has a real Caribbean feel to it.

Many reviews have been written already, and we agree with all positive comments. For us too the best aspect was its location. Looking out from the verandah, the view is very peaceful and rural. It is mostly of trees, with no other building in sight. Yet just a short walk away is the beach and in another direction, the hustle and bustle of Rodney Bay, with its restaurants, stores, banks, etc.

We loved the mango tree growing close by. The mangoes were just ripening and were a magnet for birds. As soon as a bird would peck a hole in the skin of one, it became a feeding station with a continual parade of different and amazing birds coming to feast.

We loved to walk along the beach to Spinnakers Restaurant for Happy Hour and to watch the sun set. What a happy friendly spot! One night we saw a "green flash" and everyone cheered.

Thank you Roger, we will be back!
