------------------------IN SUMMARY----------------------------

Beautifully presented flat with 2 large double rooms, huge living room with cable TV, fast wifi throughout. Landscaped garden and free, private parking. Own front door and totally private.

Dulwich is a lovely and safe, family friendly leafy area with parks, pubs and restaurants nearby. Very short walk to the train station which takes you to Central London in less than 15 mins. Quicker than the tube!!

---------------------THE BEDROOMS--------------------------

Two large (both 13 foot sq) double bedrooms.

The Master bedroom is larger and has fitted wardrobes and an iPod dock digital radio. Very comfortable super king sized bed with memory foam mattress.

The garden room is slightly smaller but benefits from a view over a landscaped garden and has a 42' cable TV. New King sized bed with memory foam mattress.

Good quality furnishings in both rooms. Very quiet and comfortable. WIFI access in both bedrooms. Both have lockable doors.

Good quality sheets and towels provided.

---------------THE REST OF THE FLAT------------------

18ft by 14ft living room with 42' cable TV, Apple TV and access to my large iTunes collection! There is also good hifi system with great speakers and a massive, comfy leather sofa ideal for chilling after a day's work or sightseeing.

Large kitchen, with double range oven, modern fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and an excellent fresh bean coffee machine and plenty of crockery and cutlery and cooking equipment if you want to cook-in.

There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer (and a modest amount of detergent). I make a modest charge of £3 (honour system) for each wash to cover the costs.

Clean and tidy bathroom with a good quality power shower and tub.

--------------THE AREA AND WHAT'S NEARBY?---------------

Dulwich is perhaps less well known than other areas of London, but it really is a gem. It is in Zone 3 with easy access to London, but has the benefits of a feeling of space, greenery and calm - a great pleasure after spending time in busy central London. My road is a private one with a good, safe community spirit. No busy roads or traffic noise to disturb you. There are 3 great parks nearby (30 mins pleasant walk, or 5 min drive), fantastic dining and lots of gastro pubs nearby, one of the best ones being a 3 minute walk away.

Crystal Palace is a good night out, and only 15 min walk away. Brixton is also nearby, also a great night out with a superb live music venue if that suits.

Dulwich Village itself is around a mile away with a great community British style pub, stunning park and the Dulwich Picture Gallery - a beautiful gallery with superb standing artwork and visiting exhibitions that have recently included Warhol and Velasquez. There are no shortage of restaurants to meet every taste and budget nearby.

There are two very big supermarkets (Sainsburys and Tescos) walking distance away. There are also very good convenience stores 2 mins from the front door.

------------------TRANSPORT ROUTES------------------------

The flat has excellent access to central London. Sydenham Hill takes you to Victoria in 15 minutes. Gipsy Hill takes you to Victoria or London Bridge in 25 minutes. It is also very easy to connect to the tube at Brixton, Balham or Elephant and Castle. The No 3 bus takes you straight to the heart of the west end (Oxford St) and there is a bus stop very nearby.

For ease you will receive Oyster cards in your room which are easy for you to put money on and maximise the cost effectiveness of your travels in London.

The easiest airport for my home is Gatwick (about 1 hour), Heathrow and Stansted are slightly longer journeys depending on your preferred transport routes (about 90m mins)

Why Matt Johnston chose England

The flat is very spacious, airy and light. Both bedrooms have king-sized beds with memory foam mattresses and are super comfortable. The flat has excellent high speed broadband, cable TV and Apple TV. There is also a very pleasant landscaped garden.

Dulwich is a beautiful pocket of tranquility compared to hectic central London. Having said that it is very easy to get into town.

My place is very popular with families with children. It is a very safe neighbourhood. There is also an excellent kitchen with everything you would need if you wanted to cook at home and has a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher too.

What makes this apartment unique

I was very attracted to the feeling of spaciousness, the lovely green, leafy environment nearby. The living room is very big and has a massive front window letting lots of light in. It is a very private road though with very few passersby so safe, calm, quiet and pleasant with London on the doorstep!

Great location.

The flat was as described and well located for using public transportation into central London. It was very clean with plenty of space for our family of 3 and a lovely garden in back. Matt was very helpful in educating us on using public transportation and gave us ideas on where to visit. We rented a car for the 2 weeks we were there and never had a problem parking on the private street. The area was quiet with a private entrance to the first floor flat. Matt was very accommodating when I messed up the dates of our reservations. One of his neighbors helped us find one of the train stops & even invited us to the block cook out. We felt very comfortable in Matt's home and he was very good about communicating with us and helping us. Thank You!

Great location; great clean flat

It was great to stay in this calm, peaceful and leafy part of London. It was very handy for all we wanted to do around a nearby family wedding. It was very clean and very comfy. The communications from Matt were clear and timely. We'd happily stay here again if and when we're back in the UK.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt in der Wohnung von Matt. Vom Gipsy Hill aus hatten wir einen Superblick über London. Der Vermieter war sehr hilfsbereit, auch vorher wenn wir noch Fragen hatten zu unserer Reise. Nach einem anstrengenden Tag in der Londoner Innenstadt freuten wir uns sehr auf die ruhige Wohngegend. Wir haben im kleinen Garten gefrühstückt und abends gegessen, da wir das Glück, dass das Wetter sehr gut war. Die Ausstattung war sehr gut und das kochen war problemlos. Auch unsere Kinder (19 und 13) fanden die Wohnung toll. Grade weil sie nicht mitten im Trubel liegt. Danke für die schöne Zeit.

Wonderful calm stay

Wir hatten schöne Tage in diesem gut gepflegten und gastfreundlichem Haus mit Garten. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig, das Haus liegt in einer Sackgasse mit nahezu keinem Verkehr. Die Bushaltestelle Gipsy Hill (Linie 3) ist in wenigen Minuten bequem zu erreichen. Der Doppeldeckerbus fährt ca 45 min in die Innenstadt bis Regent Street mit Ausstiegsmöglichkeit z. B. Westminster Abbey. Alternativ kann man in Brixton auf die "tube" umsteigen. Der Eigentümer ist außerordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es liegen Gebrauchsbeschreibungen für elektrische Geräte bereit, die nahegelegenen Supermärkte, Pubs oder Restaurants werden auf einer Karte dargestellt. Auch für den Transport von und zum Flughafen erhielten wir die Nummer eines nahegelegenen Taxiunternehmens, das uns zuverlässig fuhr. Auch wenn es ungewöhnlich war in einem Haus zu wohnen, das sonst von anderen Personen bewohnt wird, haben wir uns sofort wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

Matt's Great Flat

This was an excellent flat and location for us. We spent Christmas with my Dad and Matt's flat was located no more than five minutes walk away from his house. The flat is very well situated with easy access to London. The flat is very well appointed and comfortable. We are a family of 5 and Matt accommodated us superbly. As an owner he went above and beyond in helping to make our stay a very pleasant one (even to the extent of helping with some of the transport logistics). The flat was a great fit for us and I would have no hesitation returning as a family or individually. Matt is easy to contact and very responsive. I'm very happy to recommend his property as a place to stay while in London

Eine Oase in London

Die Beschreibung der Wohnung und die Fotos sind zutreffend und korrekt. Alles war sauber, gepflegt und einladend. Die Informationen waren alle präzise.Der Vermieter war bei der Vorbereitung der Reise und während des Aufenthalts sehr hilfsbereit. Die Wohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Es ist eine ruhige Lage.

Man ist mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln erstaunlich schnell im Zentrum. Der Bus "3" ab Gipsy Hill war unser Favorit. Wenn wir es eilig hatten, stiegen wir in Brixten (Underground) Station um in die Victoria Line. Hatten wir mehr Muße, fuhren wir mit dem Bus ins Zentrum (z.B. Oxford Circus).

Eine Anregung, eine "Petitesse": Statt nur eines (großen) Handtuchs pro Person wären zwei angemessener.

Wir würden die Wohnung auf alle Fälle weiterempfehlen!

The place is perfect for families looking for a safe neighbourhood. However it is also a brilliant choice for couples / friends who want easy access to central London but also to see another side of London. There are excellent going out places nearby in Crystal Palace, Brixton and East Dulwich - remember - most Londoners don't generally go out in central London!!!
