Guestbook comments from the manager

My family and I stayed at Twin Owls Cabin from 9/17-9/24/15 for my son's wedding at the nearby Stanley Hotel. The house is large and roomy and is exactly as described in the property advertisement. The beds were clean and comfortable with plenty of extra clean towels, sheets and blankets. The kitchen is well stocked with cute "owl themed" dishes and every kitchen device you could need during your stay.

We used this property as a "home base" for all our relatives and friends both before and after the wedding. Even with 8 adult residents staying there we were able to welcome others over for pizza one night, a barbecue the next and were never crowded. There was plenty of seating inside for guests and ample parking for several vehicles directly behind the house. During our stay we were treated to an elk herd marching down the road with his 20 "wives" trumpeting his arrival!

The cabin is within walking distance of downtown Estes Park and we took the opportunity to attend a local crafts festival and ALL the wonderful shops in town. We also made the short drive to Rocky Mountain Park several times and a day trip that included Garden of the Gods and Pike's Peak. The local Safeway is less than 5 minutes away for grocery shopping, but we also dined in several Estes Park restaurants as well (all great!). For entertainment there are two large television sets as well as games. The WiFi connection was easy to set up and problem free throughout our stay. We had a fabulous family vacation/wedding/reunion and would return to Estes Park again and rent Twin Owls Cabin again without reservation!

Nice cabin-like house, close to downtown.

  • 5 of 5

It was a nice house overall. It was very cozy and very close to everything. This area does require that the lights and sound be at a minimum after 8:30PM. So if you like to party, just be aware that you can not be loud and have any parties here. It was so nice to have a washer and dryer as well as a full kitchen. There is no air conditioning and we did come at a very hot time. Also, beds were a little too firm for us.

Great Place

Rented the cabin for 7 of our guys who were going to work in Estes. There was plenty of room for them all and it was very comfortable. They all enjoyed it very much.

Great place to stay in Estes Park

  • 4 of 5

We loved the location of this cute cabin. It was a short walk to downtown area. Set up of the house was great with bedrooms/bathroom downstairs.

We saw a herd of elk right outside our front door one morning !

Clean and convenient...what more can you ask for?

  • 5 of 5

Our twin owls cabin stay was perfect. We were in town for a wedding in Estes Park and chose twin owls due to the proximity of both the venue and the town itself. The downtown area is an easy walk from the cabin. The walk home is uphill but really isn't bad at all!

The cabin itself was very clean with ample supplies. We had everything we needed during our stay.

I would definitely recommend this home to anyone wanting to enjoy life in Estes Park!

Cute Cottage Close to Downtown Estes with a Country Charm

  • 4 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this Cottage. There were games for the kids to play, space to spread out a bit, and a nice kitchen. The Cottage was very clean. My kids enjoyed the bunk beds in the basement bedroom. Almost anything you would need in a kitchen (on vacation) was provided, which was great. We would definitely stay there again when we visit Estes.

When we first arrived after many hours of travel, we were greeted with an odor. We immediately opened up all the windows which helped. The home had not been cleaned with excellence. The master bed was not made with excellence. There was a beer cap underneath the couch. In one of the cabinets, you could see a mess of games, cards, and game markers. It also smelled like the previous renters brought along a cat. I would also like to point out there are rules about check-in and check-out. I assume that these rules are set by the cleaning crew, etc. but I thought it was interesting how we could not arrive before 3:30 or be charged a $35 fee and then we had to deal with an odor.Despite these annoyances, we did appreciate how this was immediately taken care of when we called. The management quickly came and cleaned the house again. The second time, it smelled pleasant. However, the outside of the home still needs to be cleaned. The front porch/ steps and windows need cleaning. The kitchen cabinets were scuffed up. After the cleaning crew came through, I thought we would receive a phone call or someone would come and see if it was better, but nobody came. This probably sounds like we are being pretty picky, but this is not exactly a bargain price. I also thought that we would receive some kind of other compensation ( gift card to a restaurant or shop) for the inconvenience of them coming back to clean. There was another little electrical issue while we were there, but it was immediately solved.

I liked the layout of the house with the upstairs bedroom and downstairs bedrooms/ bath, but that is something you can also find in other rentals.

It is also possible that I am comparing this to our outstanding experience in Cape Cod. The owner personally phoned us to chat about the house. He also phoned us after our visit. That is probably because this home is connected to a management/ business instead of the actual owner. Personal touch goes a long way in business. I don't really think we would stay here again.

Owner's Response: We understand the renters concerns. To start off, the renters came early before our designated check-in time. This did not give us enough time to complete the cleaning of the house. We make it very clear in our messages to the renters that they should not arrive early. Other issues that the renters experienced were dealt with immediately. Overall, this house has a great track record.
